if i was not blind, there are no tags on tangle.com
and there is no enough info for thumbnails. i've to take a pre-assigned image as the default thumbnail.

try to grab this http://www.tangle.com/view_video.php...45cd290bc2ae2d . you will get a thumbnail cause there is a thumbnail for this video on the same page. but most of the videos on that site are not.

Thank you very much for the xml :)

I really appreciate it.

I just want to let you know one thing, hope you can help on this:

When I added a video from Tangle.com, I hit 'load information' and it filled everything except tags. The tags work fine for YouTube though.

It also does not show the correct thumbnail for the video.

It should show this one:
http://thumb-3.tangle.com/e1/thumb/5/55/1_45463.jpg

Instead, it shows the one in my screenshot.

Appreciate any help on this. Thanks again.

Any way to sort the videos by rating, rather than by date? I'd like the top rated videos to be at the top when you click on a category.

Hello Jaxel I have installed this wondeful video directory, the installation went fine but i dont seem to have a video directory page in my admin panel, apart from in the vbulletin options. Also when I add a video URL and click on the button that says 'Load Information' nothing happens, I want to get this to work can you help me please?

Jaxel 02-08-2009 09:37 PM

Okay... I just moved my entire filesystem of avatars to the database, so that I could see and test what the problem is with the avatars in the comments...

And I couldn't find a problem... Avatars work in both the filesystem, and the database...

I assume you were answering my question. All my avatars are handled by filesystem not by database, so why they are called from /thumbs subdirectory?

Thank you.

I've Installed on a Test Forum the Version 1.2.2 and I Got Some Bugs:

1. YouTube Video Hoster didn't Installed Well (on vB 373). :confused:

I got that because when I tried to Export the Video Hoster it said File Didn't Existed. Also when I tried to Add a YouTube Video it didn't Worked and it didn't even allowed the Get Data Process.

All the Other Video Hosters Exported without any Problem.

2. When I Uninstalled the Product on that Test Forum and then Re-Installed Again, All Video Hosters Were Gone. :confused:

You Should Check that Un-Install and Re-Install Process, because it Damages the Video Hosters.

Because of what is Previously Mentioned, Could You Please Upload on the Mod's Files the Latest Versions (1.2.1 or 1.2.2) of the Basic Video Hosters that Come with the Product, Please? :confused: (YouTube, YouTubeHD, Dailymotion, and Metacafe), I think that'd save a lot of Troubles to Users of this Mod. https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2011/07/3.gif

I Hope you can Fix those Bugs and also that Please You Update the Latest Basic Video Hosters. ;)

My Best Regards.

:)

inciarco 02-09-2009 12:45 AM

Other Bug:

On YouTube and YouTubeHD the Link to the BB Code is Using the Number of the Video in the Directory and Not the Code at the End of the URL.

Example:

Video URL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ks8PZ8X6Yo8

BB Code: [video=Batman gets pwned]2[/video]

Embed Code: <embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/ks8PZ8X6Yo8&autoplay=1&fs=1&rel=0&ap=%2526fmt=22" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="896" height="529" wmode="transparent"></embed>

How can this be Corrected? :confused:

I tried Editing the includes/xml/videohoster-YouTube.xml and videohoster-YouTubeHD.xml and it didn't worked, and also seems correct in that File; what other File(s) should I edit to get the right Code on that BB Code? :confused:

My Best Regards.

:)

In 3.70, Jelsoft added the "Pictures and Albums" section. They also added a /thumbs sub-directory to the avatars for picture commenting. If you installed from scratch, 3.7+ you will be fine... however, if you upgraded to 3.7+, your /thumbs subdirectory may not be chmodded correctly, or may not exist at all. To fix this; create the sub-dir, chmod it 777, and run the "Rebuild Avatar Thumbnails" script in maintenance.

inciarco 02-09-2009 01:07 AM

I've just Installed 2 Video Hosters (Google and Yahoo) that are in this Thread, and I just sae the same BB Code Error, so I guess the Error is in the Mod and Not in the Video Hosters; is there a Plugin or a File I can Edit to Correct that Error, Jaxel? :confused:

(I detected that Error some days ago but I thought it was because I Upgraded on my Forum, but now that I made a Fresh Install in a New Test Board 100% Clean of other Mods, I can see that this is a Bug in the Mod and I motivated to Post it here for you to know it and Correct it). ;)

My Best Regards.

i keep getting this when trying to add a video....

"There are some problems while trying to connect to the video-servide. Please try again later!"

ArnyVee 02-09-2009 01:38 AM

I've done both fresh installs on forums and upgrades from Surviver's original mod and both have worked fine. Small things that I had to adjust (such as adding the sub-directory for the thumbnails, etc), but overall works fantastic! :up:

hate to doublepost, but if there's any code to change in order to list movies by name or rating, anything other than date, let me know. Just a hint will do!

indie... I just made a small change to the following two templates:
  • video_bit
  • video_bit_more
These small changes adds alt values to the rating image with exact averages.

indie2industry 02-09-2009 09:35 AM

Ok, Quick question?

How do I get the BBCode to work?

example:

Code:

[YouTube=ltGmjMBrLjs]15[/YouTube]

you are the man!!!!! I get my taxes back in a day or 2. You sir, will get a donation from me..

Jaxel 02-09-2009 09:53 AM

indie... I just uploaded fixed versions of my 5 supported hoster files...
  • upload/includes/xml/videohoster-Dailymotion.xml
  • upload/includes/xml/videohoster-Metacafe.xml
  • upload/includes/xml/videohoster-YouTube.xml
  • upload/includes/xml/videohoster-YouTubeHD.xml
  • upload/includes/xml/videohoster-Veoh.xml
Re-import all 5 of these hosters... then go into Video-Directory > General Settings and enable "Video BB Code"... this will AUTOMATICALLY create a working [video=] BBcode on your forums. If you don't enable this setting, it will instead display a [hosterName=] BBcode; that you must create yourself manually.

Please read the update notes for 1.2.1

People need to stop asking for this... this is a DIRECTORY mod, not a video hosting mod. However, if you want to setup a seperate video hosting mod; you can easily integrate those videos into the DIRECTORY.

Goodspeed 02-09-2009 10:21 AM

General settings, Video detail settings, Video tag settings are not available under admincp, do you know how to fix that?

You See that There's an Error on the Code. :rolleyes:

I reported that Error/Bug a few Posts Before this one. :rolleyes:

I'll share my Solution a little Later but there is an Bug the BB Code is Being Generated with the Number of the Video and with the Code/URL of it instead of the Title. :confused:

My Best Regards.

:)

Jaxel 02-09-2009 07:40 PM

inciarco... you never update your hoster files. Changes were made to hoster files in 1.2.1... you never updated them; thats why you are getting errors.

inciarco 02-09-2009 07:50 PM

That's Right, Jaxel, I didn't Updated them before, that was my Error.

Now that I Updated the Video-Hoster Files is Working Better (I didn't Noticed that those are the ones on the includes/xml Folder that you Provided with the Product :p).

But there's a Small Error on the YouTube and YouTubeHD Video Hoster Files :confused: (Perhaps in one of your Edits of the File ;)):

On videohoster-YouTube

Code:

        function fetch_videobbcode($vid, $videoid = '', $videotitle = '')
        {
                $videoid = $videoid ? $videoid : $this->video_id;
                $videotitle = $videotitle ? $videotitle : $this->video_title;

                if ($this->registry->options['videodirectory_bbcode'])
                {
                        return '[video=' . $videotitle . ']' . $vid . '[/video]';
                }
                else
                {
                        return '[' . $this->hostername . '=' . $videotitle . ']' . $videoid . '[/' . $this->hostername . ']';
                }
        }

They're Inverted; it should be:

Code:

        function fetch_videobbcode($vid, $videoid = '', $videotitle = '')
        {
                $videoid = $videoid ? $videoid : $this->video_id;
                $videotitle = $videotitle ? $videotitle : $this->video_title;

                if ($this->registry->options['videodirectory_bbcode'])
                {
                        return '[' . $this->hostername . '=' . $videotitle . ']' . $videoid . '[/' . $this->hostername . ']';
                }
                else
                {
                        return '[video=' . $videotitle . ']' . $vid . '[/video]';
                }
        }

and on videohoster-YouTubeHD it should be:

Code:

        function fetch_videobbcode($vid, $videoid = '', $videotitle = '')
        {
                $videoid = $videoid ? $videoid : $this->video_id;
                $videotitle = $videotitle ? $videotitle : $this->video_title;

                if ($this->registry->options['videodirectory_bbcode'])
                {
                        return '[' . $this->hostername . '=' . $videotitle . ']' . $videoid . '[/' . $this->hostername . ']';
                }
                else
                {
                        return '[video=' . $videotitle . ']' . $vid . '[/video]';
                }
        }

Otherwise it'll return the Video Tag instead of the YouTube and YouTubeHD Tag if you've selected to Display Tags on the Video Option. ;)

That Error is in the Other Video Hosters, you should do the inversion of the Codes there too. ;)

My Best Regards.

:)

Riccardo83 02-09-2009 08:06 PM

It seems like The USers who uploaded the videos are not listed anymore and also the front page doesnt display any videos?

Only when u click on the Categories you see them? DId i do something wrong?

FIXED DIDNT SET LIMITS!!!

Jaxel 02-09-2009 08:25 PM

@incario... you are confused... there is nothing wrong with the code.

Enabling Video BB Codes enables the [Video=] tags... Disabling the Video BB Codes, reverts it to the [HosterName=] tags. They are setup correctly for that as this is by design.

If anyone is interested, someone made the .xml file for WeGame for me when I installed the older version. I have always stuck with VidDir for just this reason. This update is amazing and my users will love it.

I do have a question. Why are all the times listed as ??? now. And also, why did none of the tags from the previous version survive the update?

ArnyVee 02-10-2009 01:39 AM

nightbloom,

The reason is that Jaxel made it so that the 'length of time' on the videos show using this mod. So, since the information was not 'pulled' using Surviver's original version, you'll show the question marks.

I only had about 20 of them, so I just went into each video and edited the info in. But, I'm sure there's another way of doing it. :)

nightbloom 02-10-2009 02:07 AM

O.o I have a LOT of videos. lol I'll have to work on that a little at a time.

How to creata new video hoster?

klaush 02-10-2009 04:45 PM

Great stuff! Thanks!

Could someone give me a hint with "sevenload"?

Seems like a very good addon. I am experiencing some bugs though.
In the Admin CP i am unable to view the General Settings, the Video Detail Settings and the Video Tag Settings. It just shows a blank page in the right frame.
