Over 75% of videos do not work or something is wrong with the hack... but the funny thing is some are allowed to work whilst others arent?

Why is this happening?

YOUTUBE VIDS WILL ONLY SHOW ON YOUR SITE,IF THE POSTER OF THE VID HAS ALLOWED IT TO BE EMBEDED.

IF THEY HAVEN'T THEN THE VID WILL ONLY WORK ON THE YOUTUBE SITE MEANING IT WILL NOT PLAY ANYWHERE ELSE,THIS IS WHY YOU GET THE SORRY THIS VIDEO IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE.

THIS CAN ALSO BE THE CASE IF YOUTUBE HAS PULLED THE VIDEO BECAUSE OF COPYRIGHT.

Sorry for the caps but this has been answered again and again

Every thing inside of that upload folder should be uploaded in to the root of your site

Yes Fire Fox 3.0.3

The Geek 10-12-2008 08:53 PM

Guys, if a video appears instead of a link... ame has done her job. A constant loading or 'video is no longer available' or similar, means that the video isn't able to be embedded because of external settings. The example that didn't work for one user above works with others (including me) regardless of the browser. Ame only swaps out your URL for embed code that you would have gotten from the destination site anyway. It doesnt provide some special flash viewer or special execution method. In fact, if you look at the page source, it should be damn near identical to the destination sites embed code. If youtube allows embedding of the video and it isnt showing for you, I suspect the problem is more to do with your version of flash or your connection to the provider.

As far as where to upload stuff... its simple. There is a folder in the download called 'upload'. In that folder is a folder called 'forums'. EVERYTHING in that folder needs to be uploaded into your forums folder.

Lizard King 10-13-2008 01:53 AM

Sam , do you have any plans to auto add unique key to imported definations ?

goshalim 10-13-2008 02:01 AM

Sorry Guys but i did exactly what you said.
Stil having the same problem below.

Code:

Warning: require_once([path]/includes/ame_bbcode.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in [path]/newreply.php(742) : eval()'d code on line 1

Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/home/gorgino/public_html/canarybreeder/up/forum/includes/ame_bbcode.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/gorgino/public_html/canarybreeder/up/forum/newreply.php(742) : eval()'d code on line 1

Hey lizard... it should be doing so now. Last release reworked this a bit better so if the key isnt there during import, it should be generating one for you.

That error means that the files were not uploaded into the correct location or that the files that were uploaded do not have the correct permissions.

Check in your forum/includes folder to see if ame_bbcode.php is there. If not, you didnt upload all the files or you uploaded them into the wrong place.

Its there but still receiving the same problem :(:(:(:(:(

The Geek 10-13-2008 01:45 PM

Then check the permissions on the file and make sure the server can execute it. That error is saying the server cant read the file so it isnt there or it doesnt have permissions to execute it.

Dont know if you have it working yet but,
Just signed up at your site, want me to try that video if so which forum have you got the permissions on to embed youtube vids:)

struff 10-13-2008 03:46 PM

I am trying to install this but it sits on "Importing Product, Please Wait..." forever until I browse away from the page. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks.

The Geek 10-13-2008 04:34 PM

How big is the post table? AME adds a column to your post, visitor message, blog and social group tables to enable users to disable embedding. More than likely it is simply taking a long time to add the column.

Rideharder 10-13-2008 08:56 PM

Hey The Geek man I love this mod!
www.speedaholic.net Is my site..

Rideharder 10-13-2008 11:33 PM

Thanks so much!;)

Pardon me if this is located somewhere in the thread, but I may have passed it by looking for an answer - anyway:

Slight problem and it's probably a simple fix that has eluded me. I've just installed the mod (AME 2.5 RC 1) and I have no problem posting URLs as an Administrator. For some reason, members can only post URLs that are converted within a thread, but if they begin a thread, the URL is not converted - it remains as a URL. As an Admin, I don't have this problem.

I've checked and rechecked forum and group permissions and searched the admin panel - I can't find anything amiss. Any ideas what's up??

tecnozul 10-14-2008 12:55 PM

greetings to all and excuse my bad English, install version 2.5, but the videos did not see me in the vbavanced not be whether to make any further modification or install something that was wrong, is my version of the vBulletin 3.7.2

Over a million posts. But over 900,000 of them were imported from an old board which was using AME. Would that make any difference?

Thanks.

Still wracking my brain over this. Has anyone else had this problem??

Medtech 10-15-2008 02:22 AM

I read this thread for 2 days and have not found the solution to my problem, i installed this hack exactly as stated in the instructions. simply does not work. running 3.7.3. i get no errors, just doesn't function. installed most of the xml definition files also.

Ive tested this in every way I can and just cant reproduce it? Maybe its a conflict with another mod or something?!?!?

Where in vba are you wanting it to show? If it is a vba module that is pulling from a thread (i.e. the News block) then in theory it will work. If it is a custom vba page, then that would need an extension as I havent made it support custom vba pages by default

Very tough to say, it depends on the amount of posts, the activity during the installation and your hardware specs.

Check your post table to see if there is a column named ame_flag

Youll be one of 600 ;)

Perhaps I can get some more information (i.e. URLs that dont work, pages where working urls are not converting, etc...). Make sure you check your usergroup permissions and your ame settings.

The Geek 10-15-2008 07:41 AM

Can I please aks that if you installed... that you click the Mark as Installed link?

Thank you.
