You can always do multiple styles and make the Tabbed Forum Home a Child style so you don't have to close your forums down ;)

excellent mod - looks brill and makes the site sooooo much nicer to use.

Not sure what im doing wrong but my forum is not located in a subdomain and i have a index.html front page. When trying to select a default loading catergory it displays the index.html files as a forum...

One thing that would be nice to see in the AJAX version is a way to display all forums as in the other ajax tab hack.

unfortunately, with this initial version, parts of it, yes.. you can make it easy on yourself and save the templates and then wen you revert, you can just cut and past the changes back in. If you use the NON AJAX Version, you will have to do the same with the index.php file.

We are going to try our hardest to make the next version a product that won't be effected by upgrades..

try using -1 as the Cat ID .. that should create the full list of Cats/Forums ..

Is it possible to make this mod work similar to the MiniForum mod for IPB, where forums are displayed on alternating pages rather then using JS?

You could simulate that using TFH's tabindex.php file, but it may require a bit more work on your end.

I seem to be having a problem. I am trying to install the Ultimate Side Colums 2.2 on my forum.

At first it looked great from my view on my computer. However I have a big 17" screen and great resolution. I let some other members view it to see if everything was looking alright. Just to kind of test it. It seems everyone is having a problem with the tabs on my forum now. Here is a prnt scrn of one my members viewing the forum. I guess they said it only happens on the last wo tabs.

Its displaying wrong all over the place (not just with Tabs) .. the entire left hand side should be bumped over (all the way down past the album stuff and whats going on.. it breaks right at the bottom of the Tabs .. Check your FORUMHOME Template and make sure there are not any roage </table> breaks between the bottom of the last tab code and the Whats going on area..

I took a quick look and saw a </td> </tr> </table> just after the Tabs Initialization script that normally isn't there ..

Anyway, Random Pictures, Top 10 Box and Whats going on are all shifted to the Left and should like up perfectly with the bottom of the forums when that Left Column is active (and they are not, so there is a break somewhere) ..

Yes, you are viewing the code that I have been messing around with. Everything was displaying just fine before I started messing it. Everything but the tab content that is. The whats going on, the albums, and everything were perfectly lined up. The reason the table codes were in there when you viewed it, is because I have been trying to put them in tables. But it's not working properly.

Hi it's me again, sadly with the same issue I posted about a while ago.

I tried playing around with it a little. I also tried it with remote links, I used the tabcontent.js v2.2. When I tried to access a specific tab by its link now, I got the same issue. The tab would be selected first, but after a second it would jump back to the very first tab.

Now I use the AJAX version, added the class="selected" to a different tab, but the first tab is always selected no matter what I do.
I dunno whether the AJAX version is supposed to get the same changed done, but well are there any updates on this issue?

Don't know what to tell ya. I don't have access to your FORUMHOME Template and it contains multiple MOD edits (not just this one). I am running Kerry Ann's USC, Cybs Forum Stats just fine with this and it displays just fine in both IE and FF. I've installed this with USC and the Album Mod, Chat, stats etc and they all play nice together.

The template code <!- MAIN on the FORUMHOME with this is the same exact code that the default forumhome uses, so unless you are putting something extra in, it will work just fine.. that's why I mentioned that you must have something "extra" that is breaking the layout.

Why not post your entire FORUMHOME Template so that someone can look at it and maybe see whats causing it? You ask for help, but don't give anyone anything to look at (and sorry, viewing the source code only goes so far, it doesn't have any template conditionals or variables) ... I'll look at it when I get time if you provide it (either post or PM)

You can take a look at dynamic drive and see if the remote links work differently within the AJAX Version of the .js file. I did see in their forums that someone from here posted about this issue and there was some sorta solution that seemed to work for them.. I don't have it bookmarked, just do a search on Tabs and Remote Links and you should be able to find it. Sorry that I can't be more help right now... Im not pursuing using the DD .js file anymore as we shifted all development to YUI Tabview. (and just so you know, so far remote links work like a charm with the YUI Tabview).

Right now I am in the process of switching to the Ajax tabs. I will post up the forumhome that was causing this though. It only happens on then sports, and General 101 tab. Here it is.

Like I said now I am in the process of switching to the Ajax tabbed version. I have it all installed and it does not have the error from above. What ever it may be. I created this Ajax one as a child style as the one that was having the problems with the orginal tabbed forumhome. It does not drop down like the regular tabbed version. It does have a small problem though. I do not know what it could be. On my monitor it shows up just fine. But on a another members the tabs have to much space between them and where the forums start. Here is a pic of my view, and then this other members view. I have the spacing for this area set 1px. Which it does come up that way on my view as you can see.

You can view both of these at my forum. The old tabs are the "Default" skin, and the Ajax tabs are the "Ajax Tabbed!"

Replace your <!- main with this ... I found a roage tbody tag and you had a malformed IF statement that was leaving a </table> tag broken if you were not part of a specific user group..

Well I have found out the new Ajax problem, is only in IE. The first pic up there is in FF, and the second is in one of my moderators IE. I thought that may be it, so I opened it up in IE. It has the same space for me now in IE. Do you have any clue what could be causing it? I would love to switch to the new Ajax tabs, if I can figure it out. I am pretty sure I have everything in the CSS set correctly, because it shows up right in FF. Right?

Cool Beans, was prolly that table tag that was outside of the IF statement that was doing it...

as far as the IE... Im not a CSS expert by any means lol .. I think its an issue with using both DIVs and Tables ... for some reason IE doesn't like that and thus creates a space (and FF doesn't care so it displays correct in FF)... I'll see if I can come up with something that works with that particular Tab CSS ...

Also It seems the Ajax tabs are working for like 3 other people that have gave access to that skin, for testing. However, for some reason they do not work for me. It opens in a new page, with no layout. It gives the right catagories and all of that. But there is no forum. I know I have seen this posted before on here. And the problem seemed to be getting rid of the extra / so it is directed correctly to the .js file. But its working for every one but me. So is there some kind of IE setting, that I may have turned off? I checked enable js and it is still doing the same thing?

in the <head> area, try and put the full URL to the 2 files (.css and .js) .. then if you are viewing with IE, do a hard refresh (to load without cache) .. (hold the shiftkey and hit refresh) .

I tried this and nothing. It still shows the same thing. I even added the full URL to the links to the tabs, in the <main> area.

I have no clue what it could be.

Yeah. Look at my sig. Select the "Ajax Tabbed" skin. I just restored all defaults to IE. Now the tabs works. But not all java. Some java script in my profiles are not working.

I does not have anything to do with the code. I think its just my IE for some reason.

The little loading icon that shows when the tabs are being pulled shows red X for me. But no one else as well still. Even now that the tabs work. I think that has to do with my settings some how. The same reason my edit profile fields are not working in profiles I believe.

as far as the loading icon, IE isn't finding it, so edit the ajaxtabs.js file and right near the top of the file is the path to the loading.gif ... edit that to the correct path (you can use the full URL if neccessary)

Any luck with this yet? It is drving me crazy having the Ajax tabs, but not being able to release it to the public due to that little space there.

Hi, I installed this mod just like the instructions said ( I re-checked everything..) but for some reason, I am getting the same error karnevil is getting on this post

The problem is, I am only getting vertical bulleted links that point to a category. When clicked, it goes to a new page and the style is broken..

Its not finding the .css file .. edit the FORUMHOME template and in the <head> area are 2 lines calling the css file and the js file... put the full URL ie

i deleted <br style="clear: left" /> and now the layout in IE6 is ok! There's no spacing in IE.
