Will be this MOD updated with newer version of High Slide?
Will be newer version of this MOD be without little image bar above image?

Another great Mod. Good job. Now all you have to do is add an "Upload Image" in the wysiwyg that pops up a window like the "insert image" and instead of a URL it will give the user the option to upload a photo using a browse button and let Highslide take over. Most people don't have a place on web from which they can pull photos. Let me know what you think? I know you can do it. In fact from the looks of some of your MODS I know you can.

Great job

Don

I had to uninstall this mod, as just an FYI, because it was making even thumbnails from other image sites like tinypic and imageshack pop up in a little box but wouldn't redirect.

We've run into an issue with this, and I'm at a loss as to what's causing it.

Images uploaded to the site work just fine with the add-on. However, if you link directly to the image on another site using IMG tags, the resized image shows up in the thread, but when you click on it, nothing happens. A check of the error logs shows the following:

Quote:

[Wed Sep 02 05:29:02 2009] [error] [client xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx] File does not exist: /home/globalaf/public_html/404.shtml, referer: http://www.globalaffairs.org/
[Wed Sep 02 05:29:02 2009] [error] [client xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx] File does not exist: /home/globalaf/public_html/clear.gif, referer: http://www.globalaffairs.org/
[Wed Sep 02 05:28:58 2009] [error] [client xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx] File does not exist: /home/globalaf/public_html/404.shtml, referer: http://www.globalaffairs.org/
[Wed Sep 02 05:28:58 2009] [error] [client xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx] File does not exist: /home/globalaf/public_html/highslide, referer: http://www.globalaffairs.org/
Yet, if you right mouse click on the image and select "Open in new tab" the image displays as it should.

Scratching my head with this one. Not sure what's causing this to act like this, and I'll be dipped if I have a solution.

Hi, it worked fine here on 3.8.2

But, is it possible to resize images inside post review? When i click Reply a topic that have big pictures, and roll down the page, those pictures doesn't get resized.

Edit: Solved, there was a conflict with some BB code image resizer that i was using.

But theres another bug, Max Width and Max Height get in conflict with each other, if a set the height too high, beyond the width value, the image obey the highest value.

Same here. I basically had to give up resizing height for this reason once my members learned they could defeat it with a really tall wide image and still bust the margins of my forum. So now they spam super tall skinny images, oh well at least margins aren't busted!

I just wish there was a mod out there to prevent hotlinking gigantic (size, not dimension) images. Hate it when someone hotlinks five 30 MB images just to slow down the site.

theybannedme 09-26-2009 01:03 PM

I found a fix to my problem above; basically I added a scrollbar to posts over 1,000 pixels tall.

Good luck everyone. Great hack!

Is there a way to integrate this with a new BBcode tag, custom BB code tag named, [media]

I like how it replaces the [img] tag but my users complain that it messes up the guides; and well I agree it does mess up guides because you have to click on every little image.

So I want to create this a different image tag where it's a [media] tag.

Can someone help me with this?

Thank you very much for the assistance.

Marek58 10-07-2009 07:49 AM

need2fart 10-10-2009 02:52 AM

Guys please help how can I set the attributed for this add on to work for [media] tags instead of the default, [img] =\

I found the cause of the issue. In VBSEO, if Redirect ALL External URLs Posted in Private Forums is selected to "YES", it breaks the modification. You can right mouse click on the image and open in another window or tab, but clicking on the image doesn't work.

I'd like to see a fix for this.

Has anyone tinkered with this mod and VB4.0?
Out of the box it doesn't work, but that's understandable. Anyone up to porting it for me? $$

Well, I installed this mod and it's pretty cool but maybe I'm missing something. Aren't I supposed to be able to resize the images in the post if I want to? For example, if I insert an image that is 700x400, aren't I supposed to be able to resize the image by dragging the handles and saving my post? I mean...I can drag the handles on the image while editing the post to what ever I want. Once I click save, the image returns back to it's originally posted size.

Anyone have any advice?

No it is to stop massive photos from breaking your styles such as the infamous "longcat" images.

I will pay to have this adapted to vb 4.0

Works but not 100% correct on my forum. I want to resize every image larger than 800 width OR 800 height to 800 pixels on longer side. Unfortunately the script takes height as priority so for instance image with size 3000 pixels width x 2000 pixels height gets resized to... 1200 width x 800 height, while I would like it to be resized to 800 width x 533 height.
Anybody had same problem?
Any fix or other plugin available that takes LONGER side as primary resize method?
