nix 07-20-2007 08:25 PM

This is because before most video sites didn't have a crosssite.xml file set up. They just allowed anyone to connect with flash. This is a huge security hole and pretty much all the video sites fixed this. This is why you can't use the anymedia player to play sites like youtube anymore. Its not a bug with this hack.

There are still ways of doing it but it requires an API.

Mecho 07-21-2007 04:40 PM

yea u right . thanks for explain . anyway that would be great if it can be fixed somehow . with or without that fix , this hack is great :)

thanks

nix 07-21-2007 10:19 PM

The only fix is to use an API if the site has one. Youtube has one but everyone would have to get an developers ID to use it. Its something I can look into later.

Does anyone use the options code when posting a video or media? I'm looking to streamline this hack as much as possible and I don't see a need for that. Any thoughts on it?

Yes, my members do in fact use the options to resize video all the time (usually Yahoo video.) They shrink it to 320 x 240 to match the original dimensions of their digicam videos they take. It looks much better that way (as opposed to the default size Yahoo stretches it to.) They don't use the autostart or loop options though. But size, certainly. Please don't get rid of it!

nix 07-22-2007 02:24 AM

I won't. As long as someone uses it i'll leave it. I should be done with 3.1 soon. It's taken a little longer then I expected just because of real life stuff. I'm sure you know how that is. But I think it will be worth the wait. Its really going to stand out. I have fixed most of the stuff that drives me crazy about embedding videos.

The first release will be a beta and I'll tweak with your suggestions.

Finster 07-22-2007 04:39 AM

So if I read things correctly this mod will no longer work with YouTube videos?

halcyoncmdr 07-22-2007 05:17 AM

Youtube videos will still work. They were talking about using a separate anymedia embedding player instead of the site's default like the anymedia for 3.5.x had an option for. It will still support all the current video sites just fine.

bostton1 07-22-2007 01:38 PM

I don't understand this option could someone explain it in simple terms.

Disable the AnyMedia BBcode in Quote Tags

Setting this option to 'yes' will filter the AnyMedia BBCodes in the Quote Tags.

also, is there anyway to have the media player centered by default in the post.

Thanks

Ok...having a problem here. Uploaded the latest files, then imported the crist 3.5 product reading that the 3.6 product doesn't work on 3.5...seems ok. When I go to the options screen and try to select media types and save ..nothing gets saved...what's going on?

nix 07-24-2007 09:59 AM

this version wont work with crist version. You'll have to go through the new product.xml and delete wherever you see this.

Code:

executionorder=" "
I'm also pretty close to being have a test version of 3.1 out.

testebr 07-24-2007 08:58 PM

nix, can you add support to this website videos.uol.com.br ?

Cya

nix 07-25-2007 01:16 AM

Yea I should be able too. I'll probably have to make it fetch the info from the page though with curl.

Here is a small preview of 3.1.

Hi,

I'm thinking of downloading and installing this hack but I'm confused as how it works? Is it like the Xeon MP3 Player? Or does this work differently?

ski diva 07-26-2007 05:26 PM

What's the PHP button for?

nix 07-26-2007 09:36 PM

Well I think I found the problem without needing to post. I have this fixed in 3.1. I'll try and release a quick update (3.0.9.6) in the next couple of days to fix this.

nix 07-27-2007 05:35 AM

Very much in work still. But another sneak peak :)

tipoboy 07-27-2007 03:13 PM

What Was The Problem Mate Thanks For The Help

chronoshift 07-27-2007 10:32 PM

the M button doesn't display for me and [media] / etc doesn't work :( I just installed the new version (never had any of the previous versions) and made sure media.gif / etc is in the right place!

chronoshift 07-27-2007 11:56 PM

ok this is really weird - I took out the if statement surrounding:
Quote:

<td><img src="$stylevar[imgdir_editor]/separator.gif" width="6" height="20" alt="" /></td>
<td><div class="imagebutton" id="{$editorid}_cmd_wrap0_{$vboptions[anymediatag]}"><img src="$stylevar[imgdir_editor]/media.gif" width="21" height="20" alt="$vbphrase[wrap_media_tags]" /></div></td>
that is supposed to be placed in the editor_toolbar_on template - and the blue M showed up! Of course, when it stuck [MEDIA] tags around the video URL, it still didn't work, didn't even bring up a media player, it was just the text - which makes me think that anymedia isn't enabled since the if condition <if condition="$show['anymedia_bbcode']"> was stopping the blue M from showing up, but in all the settings I have anymedia enabled... ???

nix 07-28-2007 03:02 AM

Have you checked the usergroups permissions?

On a side note, some 3.1 info.

You can just post a link and hit reply and it will auto convert for you or you can use the M button like always.

Apples trailers added :)

Fixed stage6 so it uses the fade screen option that the plugin allows if you have this turned on.

And if you didn't noticed I changed the way its displayed in threads. You'll get a thumbnail and title that links to a player. See pic for more info (it look much better now though).

There is a stand alone page that will import any video posted in a forum and pull them all to one page where you can watch the video in a youtube like style. With comments etc.

So are people still using this?

Here is an apple trailer.

Here is a link of my site where you can see the issue, the rest of the sites as of now they work good.

http://www.myls1.com/forums/showthre...ted=1#post7160

Feel free to navigate throu the site but here is another one from google that works fine, the size of the screen fits.

go in the anymedia options and change the size of the player.

Xaices 07-29-2007 12:26 PM

Request that add option in forum manager so that any media can be turned off or on in specific forums.

In a few earlier versions of this mod I was able to go into admincp>forum manager and select whether or not I wanted to allow any media in a particular forum.

I do not see that option here. I see the manage user group options where I can control who posts media, how ever there is no control to where they can post.

If you could please put that option back in it would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Xai

nix 07-30-2007 04:24 AM

i don't remember ever seeing that option and I didn't take it out. But I'll add it. Would you rather see it as an option in the forum manager for each forum or have it where you can put the forum id's in a field in anymedia options?

ammoskumar 07-30-2007 08:46 AM

what are the new features going to be added in the new version??? and are you going to fix that title of the video in the bottom????
Thanks
