I have the same problem. Is there any way to load the bots responses other than browser? phpmyadmin perhaps? |
nope.......I tried that with custom aiml's, and what happen's is, everytime the startup.xml start's, it rewrite's the field, so you end up with nothing.....I have been cusomizing my bot's response's and trying to upload 1 aiml at a time, went to check bot, and he didn't have any response.....
It say's inside the startup.xml that you can do one at a time.....but i tried to no avail.. |
It is supposed to be steve.....
|
ahh I need this to work :( just need a server which will load it all.
|
Move over to asmallorange.com, they kick butt and they are cheap. I have been with them for a couple of years now, and have never had a problem.

Can someone make an unistall script please, this has stuff everywhere in the database. Now will have to restore my backup. |
I will be making an uninstall script. Just give me some time. I am extremely busy lately. Plus I have been sick which has really been slowing me down.
|
http://extremewebtech.com/forums/sho...1&postcount=12 :)
2.2.3 really gave this bot a lift in intelligence. :) Ill get the release out to all shortly. :) |
2.2.3 Public Release Available.
|
upgrade instructions mate? do they exist?
.... or do i just upload / overwrite everything and re-add the xml with overwrite? |
There in the main post. ;) I bolded them this time so people can find them. I will also post them here.
-upgrade from 2.2.2 steps To upgrade from 2.2.2: reupload the ewt_talkerbot.php file and the src dir under the alice folder. There were no changes in the product file for this release. |
P.S. Everybody talkerbot needs your vote for hack of the month. :)
|
I now get an error when re-running botlearner
this page:- alice/src/admin/botlearner.php returns this:- Code:
Warning: main(D:/inetpub/vhosts/extremechatforums.com/httpdocs/forums/includes/config.php) [function.main]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/webforum/public_html/alice/src/admin/dbprefs.php on line 49 |
{nominated] :D
|
Got the error "I'm not feeling very well at the moment, try again later."
Guessing problems with aiml although that was fixed. Anyways will completely uninstall and try a reinstall. See what happens. Nominated :) |
You need to reedit the dbprefs.php file since that got overwritten.
Hmmm i have a real problem with not ticking the quote box lol. |
Upgraded, it works fine.
Nominated Thanks Tim. |

I get that same error and I have re-edited my dbprefs so many times I can't see straight.... I be confused now. :( |
"I'm not feeling very well at the moment, try again later."
Uploaded ewt_talkerbot.php and "src" directory as well as edited database settings.. I'm running PHP5 btw. |
you need to change the root path to your personal forum settings from extremetims local paths. There's no reason for you to get an error with his forum address in it, you know? I think this should have been noted in the upgrade instructions, but overall - cool hack
Unfortunately, when trying to run the huge process involved in botloader.php, I end up with a blank page instead of a success message.... I can't make full use of this till I get it figured out, and a lot of other people have the same problems. I'll gladly nominate this as MOTM if I can actualy use it, but a 30% chance of the response "Said I." or "I have 28735 categories in my ...." or ""What you said was too complicated or too simple...." does not a good bot make. I think the main reason for this is because I cannot complete the botloader process. Said I. |

This is the exact error I am getting before the post completes and the Bot replies it is not feeling well...
I does not matter what I put in dbpref file... Warning: file_get_contents(http://www.afterseppuku.com/theforum...2C+now+what%3F) [function.file-get-contents]: failed to open stream: HTTP request failed! HTTP/1.1 500 Internal Server Error in /ewt_talkerbot.php on line 54 |
Yea your servers not allowing the use of file_get_contents for http urls. I will work on a work around for that in the meantime see if your host can allow them.

Thought something must be funny. Is this a change from the earlier version, cause I don't remember getting this error before? Can contact them later, but searching their forum, lots of people are posting scripts using that and none of the staff are suggesting you can't ?!?! ?!!? ?!!? |
I just looked at your setup some and you have your filepath in dbprefs.php wrong.
/home/aftersep/public_html/theforum ;) while your attempting to use /home/public_html/theforum |

Okay... I tried that earlier. You won't believe me and you shouldn't, but you can imagine my confusion as I am SURE I did and got the same error.... In any event, Cheers. Seems to be working properly now.... |
I must be on ignore...
Is there a way to run botloader.php outside of a browser? I can't get it to complete, and although my bot is working - it is very limited since I'm assuming it has never finished reading the AIML files. |
im having probs i get this
Warning: require(home/djze/public_html/includes/config.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/djze/public_html/alice/src/admin/dbprefs.php on line 49 Warning: require(home/djze/public_html/includes/config.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/djze/public_html/alice/src/admin/dbprefs.php on line 49 Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required 'home/djze/public_html/includes/config.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/djze/public_html/alice/src/admin/dbprefs.php on line 49 |
Okay... I do have the forum path changed to my forum directory correctly, same thing I was using before when it was working.
I also have file_get_contents disabled on my server for security reasons but we can use CURL, so that would be the best option for most people I believe. As for it not working on PHP5 it was working before, I guess I'll just have to go through the code making changes also the way. Hope you can fix this soon though since a lot of people must be using PHP5. Thanks |

I had to upload a few files at a time - a couple MB worth at most to the AIML file. Then run botloaderinc.php. Remove those files from your server then and add some more AIML files and repeat the process with botloaderinc.php. Took a few minutes that way, but got them all loaded. |
Quote:
That is a problem to since some of the AIML files are to big my server times out halfway or even less of the way through when loading the files.. So I tried to shorten the files but that didnt work. |
Quote:
Getting the same thing, also running php5. |
Quote:
If that isn't working I am at a loss. sorry. |
I intend to fix all the php5 issues soon.
