I was going to say, the countdown isn't showing up in FireFox. But it looks like you are aware of the problem.

Vinyljunky 12-15-2007 02:55 PM

Ive just had a weird problm where I accepted the rules and it took me to www.mysitezz.com instead of staying at www.mysitezz.com/forum

Any ideas?

Thanks

siliconfinance 12-16-2007 02:24 PM

nice mod

mmmender 12-18-2007 06:20 AM

When I installed this in 3.6.8 I didn't get Note 1 or Note 2 appearing. Also, your instructions for the navbar insert need to be more detailed. Once I activated the mass forum reacceptance of the rules everyone was redirected to the rules page but no ACCEPT button was visible. I found that it interfered with cyb-advanced forum statistics, so I disabled that.

I had to uninstall this product.

Can you please provide me with a link to version 3.1 which seemed to be working fine for me?

TCooper 12-19-2007 05:17 PM

anyone have it working on 3.7 beta 2 yet?

doc1975 12-20-2007 03:50 PM

I'm still unable to make any sense of the instructions to change the default lime green color of the link. I'm a complete and total noob, and have 0 coding skillz. Is there any way anyone could post detailed instructions on this process. i did a search, but the instructions were very limited and basic, no details.... thank you.

Issue resolved, a little on the slow side here...

On a second note...

Can anyone please provide me a source where I can copy/use some generic premade forum rules that I may manipulate and change to suit my needs... very inexperienced here, and working on my first forum/site... Thanks in advanced!

diola 12-26-2007 03:45 PM

Works realy great on my 3.6.8, so far so good. :D

Cancel that the Forum Rules link does not appear in the navbar automatically nor does it appear in the members profile...

Will this be available for 3.7.x soon

Mate you're welcome to use mine and modify to suit your board. I think we all have done that when first starting up a board. Just click the forum rules in the side column. :)

Upgraded from 3.1 to 3.54

Now Note 1 and Note 2 do not show & Countdown box doesnt work at all

vb3.6.4
IE7

Have tried uninstalling and installing clean - same results.

3.1 worked fine with both of those features - does anyone have a fix ? or a link back to 3.1

Thanks

Alphawolf83 01-12-2008 09:31 PM

It returned an JS error when you've already agreed the rules that said that Carf_buttonCounter was not found. To fix this, just edit in template cyb_frules:

Replace
Code:

<body onload="Cafr_buttonCounter();">
with
Code:

<body<if condition="(!$cfrulesagreed AND $cfrshowaccform)"> onload="Cafr_buttonCounter();"</if>>

Alfa1 01-18-2008 05:01 AM

Does this work in vb 3.7?

Alfa1 01-25-2008 04:52 PM

This works well in vb 3.7 B4.

You need to insert $cyb_frules_force in the MEMBERINFO template just like before. When you do that it will work fine.

For some reason it stopped working in Firefox.

It works fine in IE and Opera.

I'll fix this later...

Has this been fixed?

I want to implement a forum rules force with every infraction or warning given. Can you please advise on what code I can use to do this? This would really help lessen the workload for my staff. Would you be willing to implement this function into your addon?

hippiesimz 01-26-2008 10:33 AM

does anyone have problem with this hack ?
mine , user still can click submit ( after countdown ) without ticking " agree "

please help. thanks

btw, its on 3.68

netcommander 01-28-2008 05:13 PM

Hello
i would you like to learn this hack can work without database changes
thank you

MdrNate 02-15-2008 08:25 PM

Because it took me nearly 2 hours to parse through the old posts and figure out which ones were out of date and finally resolve this issue (why the creator doesn't just remove the code from the install himself is any body's guess, or spent 5 mins creating a simple outline like this to include in the install notes), I created a simple fix for this.

This was done for a vBulletin 3.6.8 install and using Cyb Advanced Forum Rules 3.6

1. After install, click on "Languages & Phrases" in the left nav of AdminCP
Click "Search in Phrases"

In Search for Test enter "font"
in Product Drop down: select "Cyb - Advanced Forum Rules"
Click Find

Search results will spit out the following:

"cybfrules_rules Standard Phrase <font color="#66ff00">Forum Rules</font>"

Click Edit button

Click Copy Default Text button, remove font tags, so only "Forum Rules" is left, click save
Alternatively you could just copy and paste "Forum Rules" (without the quotes) into the English (US) Translation text box.

Click Save

Done.

Videx 02-15-2008 11:17 PM

Thanks, done. I didn't mind the green too much until I finally settled on a default forum skin for a new vb and only later found out the colors clashed.

Valter 02-16-2008 07:50 AM

All text added with any of my hacks is stored in phrases. So if you want to remove/translate/change anything just search for it in Phrase Manager.

For example you want to change "Forum Rules" color:
-Go to "Phrase Manager"
-Search for "Forum Rules"
-Open for editing phrase where you see FONT tags (phrase name: "cybfrules_rules")
-Remove tags, or change color, or make translations, then save...

This has been explained a million of times.

Videx 02-16-2008 09:25 AM

I'm sure it has, but if that's the case, why not put that paragraph up in the initial post right next to the installation instructions where it's easy to find? Be lots easier than re-explaining it a million times. You could remove the long version history to make room.

Then again, I wonder how difficult it might be to add an option to change the link color?

MdrNate 02-16-2008 11:23 AM

I totally agree. Anytime someone says they've explained it a million times it makes me wonder why. Usually it's because the explanations are either hard to find or are difficult to understand. In this situation it's both. I'm new to vBulletin, but I've installed over 10 hacks in 4 days, this was the first hack that I needed to use the Phrase Manager.

I'd vote to have the "stupid simple" instructions put in the downloaded instructions txt file or on the front page, it's one of the most asked questions what's the resistance to adding it early so you never have to answer it again?

mariocaz 02-21-2008 03:25 AM

Excellent and useful mod.

Only it will be better if you disable the Mod automatically disable the link in the Nav Bar, only a nice suggestion.

mariocaz 02-21-2008 03:43 AM

And how can I change the green color of the link in the navbar ??

cheers

MdrNate 02-25-2008 06:02 PM

EagleNick 03-06-2008 01:23 AM

Are the rules HTML enabled, or just BB Code?

Raptor 03-18-2008 10:16 PM

forcing members to read the rules before actions doesnt work at all

the rules page comes up fine - but cannot force ppl to read

also the reset button in admincp doesnt work in IE but ok in Firefox ?

Forcing users to click on Google ads is against their terms & conditions, I believe.

MetalORock 04-23-2008 09:32 AM

webspider 04-24-2008 12:29 PM

This hack no longer works with vBulletin 3.6.10

redlabour 04-24-2008 03:08 PM

Security Token from 3.6.10 has to be added to the Code.

Does somebody know how to to that?
