Ok, thanks Paul. Just wanted to also add thank you for the add-ons and mods you've made. I've bookmarked quite a few to install. They're the best ones I've seen so far.

Bubble #5 02-02-2007 06:44 PM

Paul quick question. We have been using this great hack since its introduction. We'll need to click 'install' with each new version correct? I'm pretty sure that we do but I just wanted to make sure :)

Paul M 02-02-2007 07:07 PM

You only need to click install once in any modification thread, no matter how many times it's updated. If you check the "Show your Support" section in the hack post, you should see it still says "Thank you for supporting this modification -> Click to Mark as Uninstalled (or view your installed mods list).

Ah great! Thank you Paul :)

Search the phrase in admincp
Total members that have visited the forum today
It should pop up and you can edit it

I installed this mod, but for some reason I get extra spaces in between the usernames.

Screenshot below. I couldn't find where the extra space had showed up in the templates (reverted the changes I had made to both display_vistors and display_visitors_user). I also reimported the original .xml.

Any ideas?

Paul M 02-04-2007 06:32 PM

I suggest you view the page source to see what's adding the space.

I have, the space isn't in the source...

Code:

<!-- BEGIN TEMPLATE: Display_Visitors_User -->
<a rel="nofollow" href="member.php?u=40" title="07:00 PM">Aaron</a>
<!-- END TEMPLATE: Display_Visitors_User -->,<!-- BEGIN TEMPLATE: Display_Visitors_User -->
<a rel="nofollow" href="member.php?u=269" title="08:44 PM">AdminTest</a>
<!-- END TEMPLATE: Display_Visitors_User -->

But, the way the page LOOKS, the space in the source should be here (Asteriks = space) :

Code:

<!-- BEGIN TEMPLATE: Display_Visitors_User -->
<a rel="nofollow" href="member.php?u=40" title="07:00 PM">Aaron</a>
<!-- END TEMPLATE: Display_Visitors_User -->*,*<!-- BEGIN TEMPLATE: Display_Visitors_User -->
<a rel="nofollow" href="member.php?u=269" title="08:44 PM">AdminTest</a>
<!-- END TEMPLATE: Display_Visitors_User -->

I looked in the code and couldn't find anything, nor in the phrases.

You have template comments enabled, that's why.

They should never be enabled on a live forum, turn them off in your vboptions.

JohnBee 02-08-2007 12:29 AM

I really like this hack! Is it possible to have a template version?
Our forums are quite large and we try to do all we can to avoid extra queries.

Paul M 02-08-2007 09:50 AM

I have no idea what you mean by a "template" version.

Trying to avoid queries just for the sake of it is a pointless excercise.

No, move your mouse over the name to see that.

i think i installed it when i was 3.5 and forgot I had it and reinstalled
now it show up 2 times at the botom. I tried to uninstall and reinstall but it still shows it twice.
any advice on how to fix?

SwissPegasus 02-15-2007 08:26 AM

In the version for vb 3.5 you show also the count of user was online. in the newst version i miss this count of users. Is there a easy way to include the count of users again?

cu
SwissPegasus

Edit: after comparing the old and the new version i found the way to show this again.

Look for a block containing "visited today", or similar.

LoreleiWeb 02-19-2007 07:11 PM

incredible mod, thanks Paul! *installed*
one question, if i may... i am not managing to find where to switch between "visited today" and visited the past 24 hours. currently its on "today" and i'd like to switch.

sorry for probably a dump question, i am very new to vB.

Paul M 02-19-2007 07:38 PM

In your ACP > vBulletin Options > Members who visited Today section.

LoreleiWeb 02-19-2007 08:38 PM

Mudvayne 02-23-2007 03:14 PM

Littlerocket 02-23-2007 08:30 PM

Is it possible that this could affect my "newthread" template?

I installed this yesterday and vbookie stopped working. The "newthread" template reverted back to default and lost the vbookie edit.

Paul M 02-23-2007 08:37 PM

Nope, this does not touch the newthread template.

It's hard to find motivated people this days. When I installed satellite TV, my teenagers stopped working too.

LOL
I don't get how this mod would run into any other mod :|

Thanks. God knows what I have done to affect that template.

GPS_Flex 02-24-2007 01:51 AM

Installed. this is sweet. I love it.

SPEED1 02-25-2007 11:54 AM

Installed. Thank you very much! :)

fitnesshealth 02-25-2007 12:44 PM

How do i disable "Currently Active Users" and display only "last 24 hours users"?

I've tried turning off "Currently Active Users" but the "last 24 hours users(this mod)" is also automatically turned off.

Any idea?

Paul M 02-25-2007 12:45 PM

You cannot.

fitnesshealth 02-25-2007 01:00 PM

okay thanks. :)
