Just updated to the latest version. It's been working fine for mp3's... but when I try a valid mov I get this:

Error: Non supported media type.

The Quicktime movie works fine in my browser when I link to it though.

Any ideas?

Check whether the "mov" is in the "supported types" in acp.

It is. And I'm one step closer... I uninstalled the product and reinstalled fresh, and now it's working (for the most part!)

For the Quicktime file, the player window is now appearing properly... but in Safari (Mac OS X) it is not playing, or showing the the controls on the bottom (to control playback.) It just stays on the big "Q" and nothing happens:

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/

It works fine in other browsers and other platforms, however. And Google/YouTube video works fine too.

I'd just like to get Quicktime playback working in Safari! Is that possible?

Emmmmmm.....
It's hard to make it work perfectly on all the browser & OS,
use your Safari to find a working one,
and send the url to me,
I'll see into the code to find a available one for Safari.

What do you mean by this? Find a working what? Normally QuickTime works fine in Safari using the built in QT plug-in. Like so:

i dont knw why its not working for me when i put tags it stays same nothing happnes like [MEDIA]url[/MEDIA]

If you could help, Cris, please visit www.amend-eq2.com/forums.

I've tried to get the plugin to work, but it seems no matter what I do it wants to download the file and play it in a new window, or direct you to youtube's site.

That would be most appreciated, Crist. Safari is the default browser on Mac OS X and every self-respecting Mac user uses Quicktime in favor of RealPlayer or Windows Media... so this is a very common combination. Support for it would be great.

When you say "find a working one" what do you mean? Quicktime's own plug-in works fine to support MOV playback within a browser window. I'd just like to integrate that in-line with a vB page (as your hack does) as opposed to opening up a separate page to view a video.

Tralala 04-22-2006 05:40 PM

Not nearly as much of a priority as QT/MOV support on Safari (requested above,) but how about support for iFilm?

http://www.ifilm.com/ifilmdetail/2721326

They offer links for embedded video:

HTML Code:

<embed width="410" height="332" src="http://www.ifilm.com/efp" quality="high" bgcolor="000000" name="efp" align="middle" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" flashvars="flvBaseClip=2721326" />

I experienced this too... then I Rebuilt Bitfields (an admin maintenance routine made easily accessible with this or this) and it started working again.

Trying to troubleshoot, I uninstalled all the components and reinstalled fresh.

Now, YouTube videos play fine, but Google and vSocial do not.

I am using the samples provided in the original post, formatted thusly:

[media]http://www.vsocial.com/video/?d=18244[/media]
[media]http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=8734784166891628781[/media]

And what I get is in the flash player window is:
Error: Failed to parse video url.

MP3 and YouTube work fine though. I have tested on multiple platforms and with multiple browsers.

Is there another flvplayer.swf file I can try?

What am I doing wrong?

if you change the tag name,
you should edit the old post to make it be parsed again.

Quick suggestion:

In the AdminCP settings, under "Supported Extensions" you list them:
Quote:

Separate extensions with commas.
Supported by Default: flv, swf, swf, spl, mov, qt, mqv, mpeg, mpg, m1s, m1v, m1a, m75, m15, mp2, mpm, mpv, mpa, flc, fli, cel, rtsp, rts, 3gp, 3gpp, 3g2, 3gp2, sdv, amc, mp4, sdp, rm, rmvb, ra, rv, ram, smil, mp3, wma, wav, ogg, ape, mid, midi, asf, asx, wm, wmv, wax, wvx, avi, pdf, fdf, xfdf, xdp, xfd, gif, jpg, jpeg, png, bmp, xpm, torrent, google, youtube, vsocial
I suggest listing them without the spaces, so that if/when someone screws around and erases them all in the box, they can add them back easily by copy and pasting. (If you copy and paste, with the spaces, none of them work!)

Either that, or perhaps include a "Default Settings" button to be able to revert to the original settings.

Or lastly, consider making it work even if there is a comma and a space separating the extensions.

jquan 04-25-2006 06:25 AM

Is it possible to have youtube videos start minimized.
I tried [media=0,0,no]url[/media] but it still showed full Media Player Window.

Tralala 04-25-2006 06:39 AM

Any idea why Google video stopped working all of a sudden? I get "Error: Failed to parse video url." It used to work. And YouTube continues to work. But not Google video. :(

it's flv.
You could take it as Google videos.

Or I'll add it into the supported types.

Failed to parse the video url.

There must be sth wrong with the code,
not the flvplayer.

no this option to miniminze it.
there's only a main switch in your acp to control it.

Yeah,
I made it without spaces at first,
but it won't wrap automaticlly,
otherwise you add a space between them.

I'll find out other ways to solve it.

I cannot locate this "Supported Extensions" in the admin cp. Can someone point me to where this is at?

In the instrucitons number 4 says: 4.Log into the admincp and setup AnyMedia BBCode Options.

I looked in the BB Code Mgr in admcp but I don't see the bb code for this product. Do I need to create a bb code called media?
Thanks in advance.

Go to AdminCP. Click on vBulletin Options. It's all the way at the bottom of that long list of vBulletin Options.
