both of your questions are easy to do, if you have a bit of knowledge on how to edit or modify templates. As far as using vbadvanced I havent but I dont see much of modifications to do, same for 3.7.2 just import it and see what, or how many templates it asks for update, and go over each one

Is there a manual way of changing the width of the cmps section?

The forum width is fine but on my main front page (cmps) the width isn't wide enough? I tried adjusting the width of the whole forum which would adjust the cmps too but it gave me fatal errors.

Any ideas?

the way I used to do that was to only use 2 columns, like facebook does on your main page where the updates of friends are displayed, the middle one and the small one on the right, would that help?

It isn't actually wide enough even for my threads on the main page.

Just set the width on the CSS admin controls, also on the header template and at the end of the CSS admin controls where it says advanced CSS

Whenever I try and do a change mate I get this

I just need to change the size of the message (thread box) for replies and sigs... It's too wide and when they write or add a sig (centered) it goes miles off the page.

I would like to make the main page slightly wider but Im not going to worry too much about that if not. It's just the thread really where you type replies etc the actual thread box is ok but changes cant be made.
