I was thing more along the line of say 600x300-400 for like a car then you doa s you do to it :)

installed on 3.6.5 my members love it, the only improvement i would like in a future issue is animated gifs so they become more like Wemee's don't know if possible but it would be cool

Yes, you can define the width and height of the avatar. Items can be anything (swords, backgrounds, etc), in fact there is already a user from here that has created many backgrounds:
