Sidekick I and II do not have a WML (WAP) browser ability I think it was. I had one awhile back and when I did my studies, custom downloading and editing etc. Remember reading about that. Since rem.. sidekick supports real HTML, Everyone would ask... "Why do you need wap?" lol.



Ok also Hi everyone. I just wanted to report on mine. I have 3.5.4 Mines installed and working fully. I havent edited with the user upgraded themes yet.. but I will soon.

I currently use Nokia S60 type phones. (3650, N-Gage QD) Worked fine for me. =)

I am wondering tho... did the author of this just vanish? Its tempting to just say its been abandoned, take the project, edit it, release the new updates with the "Original Design" credits to this thread.

Cause I know I could probably work WAP designs abit easier.. Helps when your phone displays it right. =D Not to mention.. already been using wap for my site for awhile now for downloading and so.

But what is the official word on when a project is "abandoned" and could maybe be re released by another person who credits back to the orig? (I know one is supposed to ask authors permission.. but if the author is MIA?)

Oh forgot to add.. my personal PC Wap browser of choice is http://www.winwap.com/products_2_1.php WinWap works very nice.

It does work.. I confirmed that too if your not using WinWap.

I did the past posters edits.. I wanna try to work on it more.. I know howardforums.com uses WAP access.. hell.. they even have that skin POST the mobile client on the reply when it does! I might try to see if we could get that here.

Also... anyone hear anything from the orig author? I dont think he wants to be contacted. =/ So either means we need to work on our own or something.. how many here are working with this still? Or did a "better" plugin release come out that we should use more?

Any chance of this being changed for vBulletin 3.6?

Actually... I got this tweaked for 3.0.9, worked great.

Then I upgraded to 3.5.4, still works!

The zip file here has a xml file, sure. All THAT does is detect the browser and AUTO point to the correct skin style for WAP.

HOWEVER... if you want, you can JUST take the template itself, import that, tweak it, THEN you can do a force url style select as your link you give out. Works too. =)

That will load the WAP version skin on your browser (Or cell phone), also I edited a few things to make it better.. still working on things, but I got it looking nice on my phones.

Also I added a link to "Restore Skin" which aides non cell phone browsers to get back to normal.

I would work on this more.. but Im not sure if I could just hijack like this and post updated wap templates.

but how can i set all style to be right to left ?

installed the skin but this is odd, switching to that style i get all kinds of graphics and crap from my full forum header in the wap header eventhough i don't see how this is possible, i also have banners in my wap style footer and can't see what is calling them since only my main style does this. i go to the wap footer template and there is nothing there calling graphics and my banners. ugh!

Like I said... the core download needs editing. I have done alot so far, and its nice... but question would be... would I start my own thread for this... or just hijack this one with the new updates. =/
