You could possibly have it that they would be promoted after so many threads or posts.

Yeah it's not so much a promotion type of issue. I have several people that log on and make 10 or so meaning-less posts and then play games all day. I'd rather get 5 good threads started and then have them play. I don't wanna up the post count daily either as I think it would piss them off and fill the site with a bunch of 'blah'.

hello one question please if we set it to chmd 777 then it will be security risk becoz lots of bad guyz now some how execute a file and deface the page. so will it be safe to use it ?

As safe as any mod on this forum. If it was easy to get into, it wouldn't be at 5745 installs.

i would like you to know that if we set arcade to 777 our public_html became 777 too and its very risky to do this .any one with php script can defaced website who has 777 chmd set.

Why would public_html become 777'd too? You only 777 the arcade folder, which is protected. Otherwise all these thousand of users would be reporting problems.

It could be a server configuration problem on whatever server his site's on, and even setting it to 777 for the whole arcade might be risky (there are PHP files and stuff in that folder).

I think he was asking if CHMODing the Arcade folder would also CHMOD public_html.

I think if there was a substantial risk with a mod that's the most installed mod on vB.org, we'd be hearing a lot of reports of that happening, not to mention it prompt removal by staff. MrZeroPage keeps his modification sewed up pretty tight. Besides, there's no way to make this work if you don't make the file readable and writable.

i have still install arcade on my forum but not with 777 .games running fine everything okay but the only problem i am facing i can not add more games in to it .soo it would be very good idea to have another way to install the game in to it widout using 777.will make it more secure .i know its downloaded lots of time may be that time this not come to attention or not occur but my forum got hacked too due to 777 port reason thtz why i am asking to make it more secure if possible

If a folder isn't writable, you can't add content to it. So I doubt it.

Your forum likely got hacked due to a security flaw in another modification. ibProArcade is secure and, like I said, people would be getting hacked all over the place if the 777 file was the sole way a hacker could get into a person's website.

I think this is a greatest mod ever. Unfortunatelly the main issue with ibProArcade is still there: most of the games don't upload highscores (too many users complaining). Also, cheating seems to be very easy to accomplish... This brought down the whole ideea for me to give tournaments prizes...

anybody know how to either remove the "Users Active in the Arcade" section... or increase the cookie timeout for that section...so that it appears more people are in there ?

I have a member stating that they are getting errors during tournament play and the system is recording their score as zero.

You can set permissions for game categories but not individual games, so you'd put all the games you only want a specific usergroup to have access to into a category and set the usergroup permissions accordingly for that category.
