It appears that, the shortest url format that was recommended at beckism isn't working, but a slightly longer format does work, and I did find this format officially recommended by amazon at least once. Essentially, it's ending the url with ?tag=associatesid instead of /associatesid

I've updated the original xml file, and I'm also attaching it here.

For those of you wondering what I'm talking about, this is an AME xml file for converting amazon links to affiliate links and including a product picture as well. More details and a screenshot here.

Thank you for this. I was wondering what was up with my referrals.

Two questions. How can I edit it so that it doesn't show the product image, but rather just prefixes the link with this icon instead: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2008/04/76.jpg
(That looks cleaner to me.)

Also, should my Affiliates ID have the "-20" suffix as well? I see that a lot but wasn't sure since my actual Affiliates ID doesn't include that string.

Never mind on this, I edited the HTML replacement to this:

HTML Code:

<a href="http://www.amazon.com/dp/$p4/?tag=myaffiliateid-20" target="_blank" title="$title"><img src="images/misc/amazon_icon.gif"" border="0" alt="$title cover" /></a> <a href="http://www.amazon.com/dp/$p4/?tag= myaffiliateid-20" target="_blank">$title</a>

...and that did it for me. Still curious about the "-20" prefix though...

There's already a regex for Hulu in one of the XML threads. Though it may need updating.

Hey, Geek. I know you probably hadn't planned any updates on this for a while, but one minor addition I thought would be useful for those of us making XMLs, would be an extra field to put instructions in the AME CP. There are a few things I've made so far, and when I share them, I'm going to have to include a handful of notations. (A way to change the color of the player, how to change the language of the player's menu to English, etc). It would be nice if I could just add that to the file itself, not to mention I sometimes need to make notes to remind myself of things. If you happen to catch this post, please consider making a note of that. Thanks.

Quick question regarding the regex, if anyone knows. When using the optional Embedding Regexp, how do we get the embed code to reference it? For example, when the ID for the the video is different then the ID used in the embed code, putting $p1 or $p2, etc, obviously isn't going to work. What do we do to get the Replacement HTML to reference the Embedding Regexp?

I don't think so. Well, based on my admittedly limited knowledge of it, I don't think so. What would primarily be needed is some manner already provided by the site to embed videos on other sites.

GREAT, GREAT, GREAT MOD!!!

Ok, now that I have it installed, I would like to ask the following:

Is it possible to change some code in order to better integrate this Mod with the ARCHIVE mode (the link on lower-right of the forum)?

The problem is that I use a lot the ARCHIVE MODE, which is PERFECT for printing and very good for low bandwidth connections and/or for some kind of searches/views.

When I'm navigating through my forums on Archive Mode, I can't see the Video - ok, it would be expectable, as this is just the archive of the posts, so no changing on this situation please... ;)

BUT...!

The problem is that I just can't see no Youtube links either...! So, when you browse the Archive, there is no possibility to know where could you get the URL for the Video, because all you get is the Title for the video - there could be dozens of videos on Youtube with the same title...

So, the URL would be the best in order to get you to the video... :)

Here is one example (my board is in portuguese). The original post with the embed Youtube video (which is ok!):
http://www.bateristaspt.com/showthread.php?t=6416
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/

Here is the Archive Mode of the SAME POST ABOVE with no URL Links, just the Title (but that is poor help):
http://www.bateristaspt.com/archive/...hp?t-6416.html
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/

Here is a DIFFERENT POST (before AME installation on my board) in Archive Mode that shows the Youtube URL (as I would like to be with the now-AME posts):
http://www.bateristaspt.com/archive/...hp?t-3774.html
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/

Could you please do something about this? ;)

Thank you so very much! :D
