By the way thank you for your support.

Sorry, that change depended on a massive overhaul.. which is what vBCredits II deluxe is.

You would have to upgrade to this version: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=245752

Ive tried to use the new deluxe whatever for vb4, but it's overly complicated compared to this previous version, and it seems less functional overall.

What's the status of this project vbcredits (not deluxe etc)? The vbcredits.com website seems to have been taken down and shifted, and I'm having trouble understanding who owns what and who supports what.

The old version is no longer maintained as it has been replaced with II deluxe. It has all of the features of this version and much much more. Here is a quick start guide on using it: http://www.dragonbyte-tech.com/threa...ck-Start-Guide

Of course, if you have usage questions I am happy to help guide you.

Dark, probably not the most appropriate place for this question--perhaps I should shift to the 4.0 thread... but let me explain my basic needs, and let you know what trouble I ran into on the development site:

NEED: purchase credit integration (previous purchased vbcredit$ addon)

NEED: subscription purchase to add bonus credits when purchased (this can be accomplished by usergroup promotion in deluxe, but ill explain why this isnt working for me later)

NEED: daily paychecks per usergroup, cron'd and not based on login

---------------

What I ran into in your newer version is a problem where, the new system seems to pay out only when a user logs in, or after x minutes if you use the cron. So, when a user subscribes and they are promoted, they may not see their credits instantly which can be frustrating.

I also need a way to have users purchase credits, I split the use of two credits fields (checking and savings). Purchased credits go to savings, monthly-earned via daily paychecks/subscribed credits go to checking. Checking credits can only be used with an active subscription.

I do not allow the use of the bank, or donation systems. This is basically "real" cash conversion to credit to allow the purchase of goods on the site (separately scripted).

can you suggest a way to do this with your new products? I have been unsuccessful in getting them to work the way I need them to (as described) and the inability to allow processed paypal/google co/payments is a really preventing me from using this.

Appreciate the help.

The paypal integration is part of an in-testing pro version.

You can turn on immediate transactions in the global config (by default its disabled for deferred processing as the calculations required can be overwhelming to busy servers). At any rate why is it important that users get credits when they are not logged in? It wont matter to them unless they are present, at which point they would have their credits. There are many changes made which include that philosophy in an effort to reduce server stress.

what if they have a subscription, and they are moved to a usergroup where they receive 2 credits per day for 6 months. Lets say they don't login for the last 3 months of their subscription. The subscription is expired at that point--do they still receive the paycheck for the last 3 months (up to the point the subscription expired)?

also, for me to report off usage etc, it's ideal that its more 'real' time.

Are all of those calculations suspended when the product is turned off ? I am trying to diagnose excess database hits and slow load times, I think it is mostly vb but I just want to be sure Every other process is turned off.

Hm, well for the short term, I am not changing it as you are the only person to have raised an issue with it. The previous vbcredits did those via midnight cron, but performance issues with large forums was a frequent complaint - it would be that much worse with the new one. I'll hang onto your suggestion though.

Also, paypal integration is now available in the new pro version at dbtech :) (link in sig)

When the product is turned off everything should be suspended.
