It will not overwrite the existing folder, it will just add the extra files. When you are done uploading, just load the .xml file and that's it.
|
Cheers Bradley, I'll give it a go.

Great mod, quick question. Should I, as Administrator, be able to have a post show as HTML on behalf of another user? In other words, if a user in the Registered Users group is not configured to post HTML, should the Admin be able to Edit his post and add HTML to it?
Hope I worded it clearly. |
@ VOLARIUM - I've tried the same thing with this mod - It doesn't work, as the post is still considered the other users post - so unless that user is in a usergroup that allows parsing - it will not show, even if Admin who does have the permission edits the post.
Hope that's worded correctly LOL - interesting question = interesting answer :P Jacquii. |
Any update for 3.7.2 ??
|
Indeed. WILL THIS RUN as-is in 3.7.2? Or is there a new version?
|
Same, I would like to know as well in regards to 3.7.2
|
I'm running this on 3.7.2, and it seems fine.
It broke after the upgrade to 3.7 -- but all I had to do was go into the usergroup permissions page for the required HTML usergroup and save it. I didn't need to change anything, just save it. That seemed to kick it back into action. Hope this info helps someone. |
I'm using it on 3.7.2 too and it works perfectly :D
|
It's been on our boards for three years now, still works perfectly fine.
|
So you ALLOW HTML for the specified user groups...
But do you turn HTML OFF for the forums and the usergroups override that? Or do I turn HTML ON for all the forums and I am just safe because the "normal" usergroups don't have permission? |

The setting set via AdminCP overrides :) HTH, Jacquii. |
running vB 3.7.3 :)
thanks |
sweet, it worked on 3.6 ;)
|
So it runs on vb3.7.3 - Cool!
Now, can I confirm - for this to function, I have to make a forum's permissions to allow HTML, and then disable all (but chosen) usergroups from using html? |
what is this suppose to do?
|
GoTTi, it enables a specified usergroup (e.g. admins) to use HTML in their posts.
|
Would be good if it worked with vbadvanced ;)
|
Very nice, I just installed this on 3.7.3.
For you folks asking, here is how I made it work: 1. Install product 2. Go to usergroups and turn on the parse HTML setting for those usergroups you want to be able to post HTML 3. Go to forums and turn OFF the HTML setting in all forums Only users who are allowed to post HTML will have it parsed and displayed. VERY nice mod, thanks! |
One thing I have just noticed about this mod:
While I can post HTML, in 3.7.3 if I go to edit a post, the HTML is not visible to edit (yes, I am switching over to code view using the little A/A button). Is there any chance that can be fixed? |
Yes RS25com, I noted this too. Also, as I mentioned above, in vbAdvanced, the HTML does not parse at all and is displayed as pure html code. However, if you then go to the forum manager (ACP) and enable HTML for that forum, it will display correctly on vbAdvanced - which somewhat defeats the object, unfortunately. It is, nonetheless, and excellent tool.
|
While I am using vbadvanced, I don't display any posts on the home page of my site. All my content requires a thread to be entered first, so that doesn't affect me (although it will other users).
If those two bugs are fixed, I think it would be perfect. |
I only enable this when I have to post html then uninstall right after posting. Works perfectly but seems to add a 1 onto the server load when left on.
|
punchbowl, so you just enable it to get the html code saved in a Post (so the html code won't get parsed out) then simply disable the entire mod? I assumed you had to have this enabled to get the html code to be displayed even... interesting..
What vBulletin version are you running? |

I'm running 3.7.3 I tried just disabling it but then the posts eventually turned into unparsed posts. So I edited my post above to change disable to uninstall. Obviously you can leave the php file up. |

To edit, I just do a View Source of the HTML page I am editing, copy the HTML to the clipboard, then edit the post and paste the HTML in. Luckily for me, I only ever have 1 line of HTML (an Iframe) so it's not much of a hassle. :) |
Works fine on 3.7.3. Thanks!

it's not fully compatible with vbb 3.7.4
|
I've unistalled this. Being unable to edit HTML is a hassle. Instead, I made a custom BB Code which had all the HTML I needed, and I just pass in the variables I need which is far easier.
|
Very useful plugin! Thanks for this.
Using with 3.4.7 -- no problems seen so far other than as previously noted. Sometimes these vB folks are just plain slow on the uptake. This has been a needed feature since before the advent of "web 2.0". Now it is urgently overdue. In plain English, for today's modern web, it is important that forum managers have the ability to post HTML "rich" content, ad lib. For this feature, vB should not make itself the HTML police. The forum manager/owner/administrator has to be able to post active content on their boards. |
iam the admin in my website
me only can psot html all other users cans t post whatshould i do i had changed the permissions in the userguroups but they can what to do now |
Installed.Really worth !
|
Anyone used this on 3.7.5 yet?
|
Well, installed on 3.7.5 (never installed it before). I assumed I would be able to use the exact same HTML that we use in Notices and Announcements (HTML enabled) in the Posts, but this doesn't appear to be the case.
I uninstalled it... I noticed the only file uploaded to the forum for this Mod is bitfield_allowhtml.xml (in /includes/xml). Question: I assume it's ok for me to simply delete this file after uninstall, is that correct? |
An update to this for 3.8.0 would be very welcome!!
|
Has anyone tried this with 3.8 yet?
|
works for me on 3.8
|
tks for this, but it seems to be displaying my tables funnily. There is a HUGE gap before the table actually starts. I checked the code and there is nothing that dictated this gap. Any help wld be greatly appreciated!
