im not sure if this has been brought up before, but when moving posts to an existing thread, using the URL rewritten by this hack results to an error.

in the URL examples above, vBulletin would ask for the URL of the thread to which the posts would be moved and if you put http://www.talkdvd.net/forum/t347-on...ng-future.html rather than http://www.talkdvd.net/forum/showthread.php?t=347 then you'll get an error.

futuregizmo 11-19-2005 06:11 PM

another question, which sitemap generator hack can we use for this one? apparently the vbseo google/yahoo sitemap generator doesn't work for this and im wondering which one is compatible for this vb url rewrite hack?

No i tried this and moving with the SEO url works fine. I moved a thread from one forum to another and back again without any complications ...

Yes I'm aware of this.

I have no idea at all. As said earlier in the thread, on many occasions I do not plan to support any third-party addons, as I don't have the time :)

futuregizmo 11-19-2005 06:38 PM

thanks Dean for the reply on the sitemap generator, i'll just go find out which ones are compatible with your hack.

descds, im referring to moving posts from one thread to another, not moving threads from one forum to another. ;)

Apologies, misread that :)

But why do i get these permission - errors?
If i deactivate this plugins no mor 403 - Errors appear.
Its just in some Threads (perhaps beacause of Umlauts?).
In this Threads all Images (Buttons, ect...) wont be loaded and you cant answer or rate a Thread...

2) Please read earlier in the thread for the reason why I am not going to rewrite the lastpost URL.

I believe what he's saying (and I'm experiencing it also) - is that if you have a multiple page thread it doesn't seem to keep track of the proper amount of pages anymore.

IE: there is a thread with 63 replies on it on my forum right now - having 10 replies per page (if you are going by forum default) should net 7 pages - the forumdisplay only shows 5 total, and when you click on page 5 and load the thread the other 2 pages are visible then at the top of the thread.

I swear you discussed this earlier though - but I may have been reading something else.

Oddly enough though - my users are having no issues changing styles via the quick change box...

Dean C 11-20-2005 02:57 PM

Ah I see what you mean now jlaine - I'll have a think ;)

Lizard King 11-20-2005 04:06 PM

He already responded, there is no query to uninstall, it's in the plugin manager... browse for it and uninstall then remove the .htaccess edits...

If it's not showing up in your plugin manager (which I have no idea why), then I can't offer you much more advice. I don't know the table structure of the plugin table offhand, but someone who does can offer you a query like:

[sql]
SELECT pluginid FROM plugin WHERE name LIKE '%SEO%';
[/sql]

Which will give you the IDs of the plugins you want to delete. But the above query will not work as I don't know the fieldnames. If someone can provide that then I can offer assistance in removing it :)

Brandon Sheley 11-23-2005 07:29 AM

i've uninstalled this, it's been a month and no search engin I've found has my links as the thread-title-name.html :(
it's a great idea, but doesn't work, at least for me

Im starting to see results after about a month, you have to remember that search engines dont update straight away, click the following link then replace with your domain to see

Clicky

JTyson 11-23-2005 07:39 AM

PS alot of the listings in the link above are for this same URL format applied to the ecDownloads hack

Hi Dean. Is there a guess-timate as to when that might be released? Just wondering...

Zhen-Xjell 11-23-2005 05:34 PM

@Dean C, I'm not sure I read this before in the thread. I just noticed now that when attempting to change a language inside a forum or thread the lang param is pushed to the end after the .html:

http://de.castlecops.com/forum/f3-hi....html?langid=1

Therefore its not being parsed correctly by modrewrite.

This still a bug?

TIA

Dean C 11-24-2005 02:08 AM

It's the same with any additional get parameters applied to the URL. They cannot be parsed using mod_rewrite. I think I may have a way around this, but i'm a little overloaded with work right now, so won't do for a little while :)

What about this? No Comment for this failure? My fault?

No worries mate, I'll fix it for CCde.

FindYourHost 11-25-2005 12:37 PM

I've searched this thread but couldn't see it, I've found a small bug.

If you have any forums acting as a link, any forums listed after the link are displayed as .php remove the link and all the others turn to .html.

Also, index.php doesn't act as index.html

I've said this on several occasions, do not run this modification on a foreign board yet. I have no idea what the problem is offhand. I'm still working on adding a few features and bug fixes. Hopefully I'll find some time this weekend to send a few people the private beta.

Yep this is fixed in the new version that will be out shortly :)

Ahhrrm, you think its because of the umlauts. But there are now some titels having quote-signs ( " or ' ) and no umlauts in it, where the Problem is appearing.
Perhaps it'll help you to figure it out.

Can we have URLs like forumtitle.html instead of f1-forumtitle.html I wonder?

The number is used to get the correct forum. Otherwise, you'd have to search your forum names and find a precise match. Then pull the number and show it. If you have dupe forum names, you have a problem.

Dean C 11-25-2005 07:12 PM

Ok the latest version is ready. I would like 2 testers who run foreign boards, and two who run english boards. Your board should have over 10,000 posts. If you want to help me test this out, then please email me via my website here.

TruthElixirX 11-25-2005 07:16 PM

While I have no live board to test it on or a board with 10,000 posts I am very grateful for this soon to be release product. Thank you very much.

vau7 11-25-2005 07:35 PM

I've got nearly 9,000 but i wrote an email in good hope...

Fix for anyone running the beta. Replace the DC SEO vBulletin URL Rewrite (WOL) plugin with this content:

PHP Code:

if(eregi("^f|forum([0-9]+)-(.*).html$"$filename$fmatch))
{

$filename 'forumdisplay.php';

$values['forumid'] = $fmatch[1];
}

if(
eregi("^t|thread([0-9]+)-(.*).html$"$filename$tmatch))
{

$filename 'showthread.php';

$values['threadid'] = $tmatch[1];

croportal 11-25-2005 08:41 PM

i want also to have member rewrite how can i do that

example now is like this http://www.croportal.net/forum/member.php?u=4817

and i want to have like this http://croportal.net/forum/member/michele

how can i do that.

i use this plugin also

kafi 11-25-2005 08:46 PM

I have replaced it. Do not know what it is supposed to fix but it is not fixing my problem:

1. rewritten forums are not showing up (requested url not found)
2. showthread.php is working as it was untouched...
