Now this is awesome, just upgraded to the latest version. Love the fact i dont need to make template changes, just wish other hackers could make them the same way.

I actually prefer template changes.

It makes things easier to customise, and I like to have control of my layout.

weirdpixels 10-25-2005 07:39 AM

SnowBot 10-25-2005 07:42 AM

Same with me. I want things in certain places.

Moncal 10-25-2005 06:07 PM

Great job. 4.02 didn't work for me, but 4.10 works great.

*clicks install*

I've noticed a bug. The column is showing twice on forumhome page. It is supposed to show once and not twice. Have a look: http://forums.mgszone.com Any idea?

Snake 10-26-2005 09:03 AM

Nevermind. Fixed!

BillAlpha 10-26-2005 02:07 PM

Thanks for the update - works perfectly now!

You appear to have two versions installed. I think you need to remove some old template code.

Well this version isn't quite that old, and it's 3.0 brother will only be 12 months old in a couple of weeks. Neither has ever won an award (in fact nothing of mine ever has), but thanks anyway. I think I'm going to cry now :(

Juat my 2 cents, but this hack is one of the ones that my members like the most.

Thanks for the great work.

How do we change the display? What template/where do this needs to be changed?

edit: the template is Display_Visitors

To quickly place the template where you want simply remove <!-- end logged-in users --> from where it currently is... put <!-- end logged-in users --> where you want this hacks informations to be placed because it uses <!-- end logged-in users --> in order to know where to put it... (search and replace)

Paul M 10-28-2005 03:46 AM

or change what it looks for ......

Snake 10-28-2005 11:22 AM

Paul I've a little request. Could you add the "Most members ever online in one day was 33, last accomplished on March 11th, 2005." to the hack as well? That would be cool.

This is available as a seperate add-on, see the link in the main post.

Hmm, you will need to edit the plugin (No.2).

In that you will see a line like this ;

PHP Code:

    $search_text '<!-- end logged-in users -->'

Change it to this ;

PHP Code:

    $search_text '<!-- logged-in users -->'

evandaeman 11-01-2005 01:05 AM

installed it... super :)

vprp 11-01-2005 03:58 AM

Thanks for the hack!

The problem is, I show the online users and stats box on a sidebar on my forum page.

Is there a way to have the online in past 24 hours list display by itself without the online users box? I used to do this with the old hack when I had to edit the template but can't figure it out now.

jokerz 11-06-2005 09:32 AM

Perfectly fine and easy to use. Good job, thanks for sharing :D

1. In FORUMHOME, find where you want this hack to appear, and put a line like this in the template.

PHP Code:

<!-- visitors-today -->

2. Edit Plugin No.2.

Find ;

PHP Code:

$search_text '<!-- end logged-in users -->'

Change it to this ;

PHP Code:

$search_text '<!-- visitors-today -->'

If necessary, edit the "Display_Visitors" template to suit.

AtoZ 11-08-2005 11:54 PM

Great hack!

I, too, had used an old hack to only display the number. Rather than use the instructions above, I did this... It just seemed simpler to me for what I was trying to accomplish.

1. I added $whodesc $totaltoday to the FORUMHOME template.

2. I opened the Display_Visitors template, and commented it out:
<!-- after <!-- who has visited -->
and
--> before <!-- end who has visited -->

SlipNslide281 11-09-2005 03:55 AM

Works great but why can only certain usergroups see it? I have some usergroups that can see it and some that can't. Unregisterd users can see it too.
