Here's what's planned:

Planned Changes [Week of 1/16]
- Profile link to a search of a user's top posts [admin option]
- Post level link to the number of votes, good votes, or ratio for a user's posts [admin option]
- WYSIWYG editor for writing a review
- Search by manufacturer [dropdown]
- Cleaned up search page & results page
- Bug fixes here and there

Right on!

This seems to work to resize the product image:

zeus_r6 01-20-2012 09:18 PM

Not seeing this, but where does a registered user create a new product?

Any idea what's causing the post content after the actual review to spill over onto the next line? It's only happening in the threads with reviews...

The mod posts reviews to the review forum already. I'll take another look when we test the updates but right now you seem to be the only one experiencing this.

Well since I said it's coming in the next version of the mod I'd suspect not.

The link is on the Review Overview / Search Page. You can add it elsewhere as you see fit.

That doesn't actually resize your imaged but rather it constraints the proportions. If you uploaded a 500x200 image it would still be 500x200 [max width of 200 w.

Furthermore if the image filesize is huge, say a 5000x5000 graphic, the entire thing is still downloaded each time causing your page load to drag.

It's not a terrible solution if your images are already all fairly small and similar sizes but becomes a problem when they're raw which is why the mod doesn't use it. Down the road we'll build a full uploader but as resizing is a quick process, the focus is on new features.

Have you modified your postbit_legacy template?

Alright Product Review Forum Users...

Here's the beta [looks like it all works but a little more testing to go] of 1.2.0 for those who want to get moving :D

- Adds the WYSIWYG editor for writing reviews [awesome]
- Adds search by Manufacturer option
- Adds post bit stat & link to a user's reviews
- Separates options into core / style for future expansion
- Switches sharing to AddThis for increased usage

Lots of small changes too as listed in the change log.

Update the XML, .php files, heck... upload it all again.

bigtree 01-21-2012 08:15 AM

right on. testing it now.

Killhunter 01-21-2012 08:44 AM

Nice update, but addthis is the biggest shit :( Should be selectable please...

Killhunter 01-21-2012 09:04 AM

Hi Ted, like I expected, my editor is away... the complete field to write a review is gone?! :( Could you PLEASE add support for the old editor which is in vbulletin 4.0.3 and so on...

Yes, but the problem is happening only in the threads created in the product review forums

As admin, I'm still not seeing this link

Killhunter 01-21-2012 05:49 PM

You have to enable it for each user class.

astdirect 01-21-2012 07:17 PM

Can we have the manufacturer displayed in the product listing ?

Update looks like some great new additions Ted, i will try it out when i get time on my live (eek) board :) I assume the reviews alread ywritten etc wont be lost during upgrade obviously.

Usergroups are already enabled for the appropriate users to be able to post new products...I'm not seeing a link from the actual forum side, only in admincp

The Ottoman 01-21-2012 07:58 PM

The Beta version seems to be working well, and my feature request (Sort by MFG) seems flawless... so I'm happy :)

I'm wondering where I would go to change the color of the search box from the standard Vbulletin blue?

Thanks

on edit: I think I found a slight bug. The MFG search defaults to the first entry. It should default to "blank" otherwise it affects the other fields.

Wanting to keep this mod as it's an asset to our forums, but this problem just won't go away...only happens in IE...There has to be an explanation...anybody have some insight to what template might be doing this? It's not happening in other threads...only the ones with reviews in a user review

The mod will read data from slightly older versions but it's just not feasible to write code that runs back to every older flavor. Why haven't you upgraded?

I'm sure it has to do with the contents of the post but it's also likely going to be unique to your particular install... one width another mod sets, one css attribute, etc....

Load firebug on firefox and you can identify which element is causing the spacing break that I can look into for you. Otherwise it's debugging in the dark against an infinite number of options.

We'll figure it out

Did you enable the option to let users add products? If not even admins have to do it through the ACP.

Correct. None of the data is changed but please run your regular backup routine first for this or any other mod you upgrade. Things happen :(

As for the manufacturer, give this version a try. The css attribute to add:

Code:

#pf_mfrg {
    margin-bottom:5px;
    font-size:12px;
}

Because the issue is only showing up in IE, would firebug show the problem area? If so, am I just selecting in the post content area with firebug to see what it spits in the console?

Thanks in advance Ted

Turned out to be an easy add.

The style is in the css file [upload -> clientscript -> vbulletin_css -> productforums.php]. Change .pf_search .pf_st and .pf_search .pf_sh as you see fit.

The issue is likely happening everywhere but IE is adding extra padding or margins somewhere which is causing the post to become too big and thus get wrapped.

Firebug will help track down your particular collision as again, it's likely going to be specific to something another mod or style change has added... unfortunately that's the nature of mods, we all write our own code and sometimes it doesn't play nice with others.

The trigger for the link [which shows in the upper right corner above the review results] is group permissions and the option being enabled. Did you turn it on for the admin group?

It is selectable. Just turn off sharing links and it goes away...

Or pop open the template prodforums_product_details [reviewing a review] and phrase prodforums_reviewposted [writing a review] and put in whatever you prefer.

Whoops, just saw your post.

Can you double check that the permission "stuck" and that the member isn't a part of a group with a "no"?

Also the link isn't the most visible given where it is. That can be changed of course...

I'll dig into it with firebug and see what happens...

Just triple checked...where exactly would the link reside?

Very upper right of the screen is what you should see on the review overview page [productforums.php]

zeus_r6 01-22-2012 03:15 AM

oooohhhhh

on the productforums.php page. Didn't even know it existed since there was no obvious links to it

:)

I dont do auto links in my mods.. There's too much variability between forums to assume a link on one will even show in a useful way on any given site.

my license has expired.. Is there no way to do that? Could you add the option to choose between WYSIWYG and the standard-editor we got before?

vB4 licenses don't expire last I checked. And if your license has expired, how are you downloading mods?
