The file cpnav_username_change.xml appears to have contents for some other unreleated mod. You may want to update the file to be empty.

Terrablade 06-09-2014 06:28 AM

will it work with 3.8.x?

No it won't, but it shouldn't be particularly difficult to backport, it to vb 3.8.x. I'd actually backported the username display portion at one point.

Terrablade 06-11-2014 09:29 AM

Not a coder here so yes, it wont be possible for me

Terrablade 06-12-2014 08:13 AM

Yoohoooo Filip, this goodie wont be done for us 3.8 users?

m7sen 06-13-2014 02:45 AM

Is it possible to allow only English lettering and prevent other languages
As well as the prevention of symbols and allow for only _
Like Twitter

this is good for Advanced User Tagging v3

thanks

You can do this by setting those rules for all usernames in the vBulletin Options. This mod will respect those rules.

There are children beginning to discover the internet that was born after vB 3.0.0 was first released :p

At this point in time, I see no reason to stick with vB3 unless the site is customised heavily with modifications that have no vB4 equivalent or were custom written (to the point where it would cost thousands to hire a competent coder to update them).

This is also reflected in the sales and usage figures we have available to us, the percentage of vB3 customers is dwindling. Knowing that, it's certainly hard to justify spending man-hours converting a FREE mod to vB3 :p

Terrablade 06-15-2014 11:17 PM

That indeed is true. The issue is there is no more stable VB than 3.8.7 and not ALL the plugins that are available for it are available for newer releases. That makes it impossible to ugrade forum when you are used to all the plugins you are using and cant find them for a newer release :/

Ok, in the thread you started in the open forums, you posted in the vB5 section. What version of vB are you running, 4 or 5?

ozzy47 11-14-2014 12:24 AM

If you are running vB4.x

It appears as if you have uploaded the files incorrectly.
Please drag and drop the contents of the upload folder (use Ctrl+A to select all files) to your public_html folder. :)

oldfan 11-14-2014 09:09 PM

I need to read before I post, problem solved thanks

ozzy47 11-14-2014 09:10 PM

Not a problem, it happens to all of us. :)

Hi i have installed the product on v4.2.2 and it runs 100%, i am a member on dragonbyte and i have bought many of your products, but i can't see this product on your site, so i am assuming it's free, what i would like to know is can we set the waiting period to change username from 21 days to 365 days?

If so could you show me what and where to change it please.

Alan_SP 01-30-2015 07:29 AM

Check settings in usergroup settings for desired usergroup.

SuperTaz 04-04-2015 11:33 PM

I can't get this to show on vb 4.2.2 either. I have the usergroup permissions set to allow me to view this and it does not show in my profile.

Scyther 04-15-2015 01:28 PM

DragonByte Tech 06-30-2016 12:16 PM

This mod respects the global vBulletin settings for username length and restrictions :)

Fillip

Dear Fillip

from your Mod,.. you are giving option to members to change their username,.. right??

now if someone try to change their own user name,. they can change upto 10 characters only.. (Max 10 Characters)

while i set in my forum maximum number of characters limit is 15

Knightmane 04-02-2017 12:20 PM

Is there a Vbulletin 5 version of this modification? and if so, where is it? I cannot find it on the board.

No, and it's unlikely there ever will be. I would not recommend upgrading to vB5 if you are interested in running custom modifications.
