Well they have no guide there, and their support is pretty slow I gotta say. My vbulletin is already up to the latest version 4.0.3 PL1.

Others have used a guide on their forums before, though O.o

I don't know why you'd get that error then, it's working fine on 4.0.3 on DBTech and many others.

What's the "it needs the instanceid URL parameter" ?

vbshout.php?instanceid=1 for the default instance. But the "detached" (standalone) shoutbox is a Pro-only feautre.

Do you have a link for one? Because I cannot find one.

DragonByte Tech 06-15-2010 09:28 PM

<a href="http://www.vbadvanced.com/forum/showthread.php?t=40023" target="_blank">http://www.vbadvanced.com/forum/showthread.php?t=40023</a> - instead of going to settings, go to Instance Management.

Fillip

Bouncer222 06-15-2010 09:46 PM

the error still exists, and the shoutbox doesn't show up at all.

DragonByte Tech 06-15-2010 09:52 PM

Does the error only show on vBAdvanced pages? If so, then it's caused by vBAdvanced's hacked method of creating a front page and it's nothing I can help with I'm afraid :(

I'm also unable to help with how to get it to display on vBAdvanced because I don't run vBAdvanced on any of our sites, so you'll have to ask on their support forums to get it to work properly.

Fillip

Bouncer222 06-15-2010 10:24 PM

It only shows up like that on the home page, that's the only page.

DragonByte Tech 06-15-2010 11:10 PM

Then it's a vBAdvanced conflict, is your vBA version up to date as well?

Beyond that there's nothing more I can do I'm afraid :(

There's a setting for that, check "Idle Timeout" in setting->DragonByte Tech: vBShout - Look & Feel Options".

Also check the "Instance Management" section of vBShout in the adminCP, then click "Edit permissions" and make sure you setup everything there. One of the options is "Is Auto Idle"

On the latest version there is a scroll bar where the channels show. It shows up on IE and chrome, its on ff but no bar.

Those two browsers don't properly apply scrollbars only when needed, but a workaround for this will be added to the next version :)

hmmm... quick question :) Is there a way to make active users show up just by looking at the shoutbox? By default, it seems that users have to post something before they are listed which makes it hard to direct your posts if your the first person in there ;)

DragonByte Tech 06-20-2010 02:22 PM

No that's not possible, and frankly it's not intended. Viewing the Shoutbox just means they are active on the page the Shoutbox is loaded at, whereas when they are shouting, they are actually active in the shoutbox.

Hope that makes sense :)

When will this be released?

DragonByte Tech 06-20-2010 04:21 PM

Around the middle of next month, there will be a performance update to vBShout at that time.

Hi! Becouse in my chat on notifications on thread, for one user gruoup it are links and other groups no?

Where is the problem or configuration for this?

Thank's

DragonByte Tech 06-20-2010 08:51 PM

Instance Management -> Edit Permissions -> check the Allow Link BB Code box for each relevant usergroup.

Fillip

Bouncer222 06-20-2010 09:48 PM

Fillip, remember I told you that my dropdown menus got cut off on the shoutbox?
Well I asked someone else who fixed it and he said that it was because of this mod:
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showt...mation+effects

You have to disable that mod, so that the drop down boxes don't get cut off. I suggest you write a special note in your first post noting that that mod has a conflict.

Just trying to help future users :)

Thank's man! You're the 'special one' :)

GateKeper 06-21-2010 01:00 AM

Is there a way to have this show up on my CMPS page ?

sorry if it has already been asked

DragonByte Tech 06-21-2010 01:16 AM

vBCMS? If so, you just need to add vbcms to the scripts to run.

If you mean vBAdvanced then we do not support this (3rd party addon) but there's tutorials on the vBAdvanced forums.

Fillip

GateKeper 06-21-2010 01:18 AM

Thanks, I just went there and see it

will look into it

yes I prefer it on the vbadvanced CMPS page

red.death 06-21-2010 03:05 PM

My members are having a problem with the shoutbox as they say it just gets stuck on the message Loading and the shoutbox never loads.

Is there a fix for this?

DragonByte Tech 06-21-2010 04:05 PM

Check the error console in Firefox and see what it tells you, there's most likely a JS error.

Is it possible to move Edit field below shouts?

DragonByte Tech 06-21-2010 04:50 PM

That's a feature of the Pro version :)

Thanks, but I have one more question:

How to move SB below "What's Going On?" ?

DragonByte Tech 06-21-2010 05:21 PM

Try the "Above Footer" location setting in Instance Management -> Edit.

I tried it but that's the result:

I want to move it like there::

DragonByte Tech 06-21-2010 05:42 PM

In that case, please switch automatic display mode off, add the footer template to the relevant setting and follow the instructions on screen to add the shoutbox manually to the footer template where you want it added.

Zombo 06-22-2010 02:49 AM

what is the changelog for the latest update?

DragonByte Tech 06-22-2010 01:12 PM

That last update was just 4.0.4 compatibility fixes =) IIRC

Hi one request:

can you make the vbulletin auto-resize feature apply to smileys? because we have smileys which are too big to use for the shoubox (takes too much space).

second:

I think the custom bbcode permission is broken... because I removed it and my members can still use it.

I don't think that's possible, sorry :(

I'll investigate the custom BBcode permission :)
