The AJAX auto refresh feature is hitting my server hard...

http://pixy.co/images/untitledgsdgdsgsg5.jpg

Any ideas? It's on an Xeon 5520, and we only have 300 guests on usually, most of them not even viewing the index. Without auto refresh load is around 0.50.

The refresh interval is set at 120 as well, hardly high. If it matters we are using nginx and PHP 5.3.

What's interesting is that if I restart PHP, the load goes back to normal for about a couple hours or so.

EDIT: well I fixed it, sort of. using nginx to cache the AJAX requests to misc.php in static files. load is back to normal, but this technique requires a bit of script modification and nginx know-how. if anyone is faced with the same issue and interested in knowing how I did it, just let me know.

Admincp >> Settings >> Options >> VSa - Advanced Forum Statistics

Usergroups can't view stats (List IDs, separate with commas)

Enter user ID of unregistered not logged in, usually ID 1.

Fails with 4.0.5 for me. Otherwise i always liked it :D.

DDIG 08-19-2010 06:45 PM

1) Some Safari issues with collapsing box and View More.
2) Time and Date formatting issue. If I have settings *) for Dutch right, English display is all mangled, if I have settings for English then displaying Dutch is totally wrong.

*) I mean settings in AdminCP -> VSa... -> Visual Settings -> Date Format and Time Format.

Otherwise great product.

One more thing (sorry) - instead of usergroups Can't view stats it is better to have usergroups CAN view stats in AdminCP.

Reason being that Primary groups may have rights e.g. Mods, Admins), whereas secundary groups may not have rights (Extra upload space, etc). If I put any user in Primary group for Mods with some additional rights in secundary group, I have to give the secundairy group stats-right also. And since secondary group are additional rights that I also give to 'normal' users, I'm not able to get this right...

With a CAN view setting, overriding all CAN't view settings this can be accomplished as it should be in my opinion.

We've just uploaded to vb 4.0.6 but we seem to have a problem with this mod when it is viewed in Monzilla Firefox.

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2010/08/5.gif

Any suggestions?

Valter 08-22-2010 05:55 AM

TableTennisTalk? It works fine for me there.

And you are marked as "Not Downloaded" in this thread?

Fanny Annie 08-22-2010 10:48 AM

Wasn't me that downloaded it. I disabled the mod and the problem went away.

Is there nothing you can suggest?

Lonny 08-22-2010 11:14 AM

For some reason it messes up the design on 4.0.6

The problem is in misc.php - this is general vB script that is used for some kind of actions (including Smileys page by default), VSATOPSTATS works with this script and sends it requests to get the stats stuff, but as misc.php doesn't recognize those request it returns default page - Smileys Page so in two blocks it loads 2 more pages, that is why all the page is messed up.

if you can get working misc.php for the VSATOPSTATS all will work smoothly
you can write to author or add a note in it's thread or something
maybe its bug in installation or something
maybe the version uncompatibility (I didn't see anyone writing this plugin working on 4.06 path 1 version)
anyway - misc.php will solve the problem

Can anyone help?

basilrath 08-22-2010 12:38 PM

RedHacker 09-01-2010 05:05 AM

Any solution to show stats all usergroups...? Why now show only Administrators and Moderators...

RaSa 09-06-2010 10:28 AM

In your Permissions: Usergroups can't view stats (List IDs, separate with commas)

Leave it blank.

RaSa 09-06-2010 10:30 AM

Question: If I change blockrow_link_color, it changes the link color of Forum Statistics, too. How can I give different link color for Stats?

TX

hiker 09-07-2010 02:03 AM

Will this mod be able to show threads of a certain prefix by the user? I'm on vb 4.0.2 and if so, I'll immediately install it. :)

I do it but not change anything....

nairu-nara 09-08-2010 11:14 AM

is it possible to place the statistics in the forum sidebar?

fuzioneer 09-08-2010 12:43 PM

I have been using Vsa and love it on our site, but found an issue.

We are running 4.0.3 and had friendly urls switched to Mod rewrite url type and the "most popular forums" list all links go to a server error 500 page when you click on them

If you click on the actual normal forum link further down the page the format is different i.e.

VSA = forums/forumdisplay.php?f=24
Forum = forums/forums/24-General-Chat

How do we get over this ?

kmohamed 09-09-2010 09:56 AM

loading ... error

there is a bug

pedroenf 09-09-2010 02:13 PM

Does anyone knows how to integrate this in CMPS?

Noerenberg 09-10-2010 09:51 AM

know somebody how i can add the last cms articles?

Valter 09-11-2010 09:39 AM

Not possible with the current version, but I may add it in next one.

Sorry, I can not say when it will be...

Anyone to know show all statistics in all usergroups....?

Marek58 09-18-2010 06:17 AM

After one of the forum actualization (vBulletin 4.07):

Forum Stats - Error: Check startup item options
User Stats - Error: Check startup item options

I thought that the next actualization will repair this mistake. It did not happen unfortunately. How can I remove this mistake?

Found a bug, pretty major IMO. It's a permissions but.

The display of thread titles in the stats box is mistakenly pulled from the permission setting of "Can View Forum". It erroneously applies that permission to determine if X usergroup can see a thread title of that forum in the stats area. It should be pulling from "Can View Others' Threads". It's this setting that disallows non-usergroups of that forum to not be able to see any thread title on the forum home page (and is why these usergroups will see nothing there).

To be clear, private forums appear on the forum home screen for all to see, but the contents or latest thread title is not available to those w/o access.

The stats mod however, allows visible access to those who are not supposed to see it (because they are not a member of that private forum).

See the attached images. This is what just registered users see (who do not belong to any private forum or usergroup with access to private forums). Registered users should not be seeing these thread titles in the stats mod.

The red arrows in the 2nd screenshot show the thread titles of private discussions that groups w/o access to the forums, can see. This bug is significant enough for us to uninstall if it can't be fixed as it means that non-staff have access to the thread titles in our staff forums (in addition to the complications it creates for private forums).

8thos 09-20-2010 07:23 PM

How do I change the background of my stats box so that it isn't the background of my forum?

Gn_Snake 09-21-2010 04:50 PM

I have a problem with the display of date / time, after an upgrade to vbulletin (say at 4.06) is not time but the letters d-m, H i.
Any idea?

sticky 09-22-2010 08:46 AM

How is this doing latest classified ads? What is it using to display classifieds?

Wayne@R32oc 09-29-2010 07:07 AM

is it possible to show latest threads instead of latest posts? So that the list is only of the new threads and it doesnt bump them up when someone posts?

LbR 09-29-2010 10:07 AM

I want to shift these Stats below my Forum Name

IS IT POSSIBLE CAN ANYONE HELP
