Tried to read through some of this : but as always, I'm lazy so I'll post and ask :)

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/

Couple people reporting white text on white background for the editing? Is it their browser, or where can I check the values? Thanks!

Sean James 09-28-2011 02:51 PM

Sorry for the late replies for some reason I am not getting any vBulletin.org notifications to my email :/

Did you upgrade from a earlier version?
Because there was a new style editor released a lot of the editor CSS changed. So you will need to compare your old additional.css with the new one, even replace as this will be easier.

i mean Center..

if i change the (bluepearl-design-logo.png) pic than is this not center, this is than more left ..

To center the logo add this code to your additional.css template:

Code:

.doc_header {
text-align: center;
}
.logo-image {
clear:both;
float:none;
}

Upgraded to 4.1.6, fresh installed this style.

Where am I looking for that then?

Sean James 10-06-2011 09:51 AM

Updated to work with vBulletin 4.1.7

This template is located in 'edit templates' --> 'css templates'

Amit86 10-06-2011 10:06 AM

Thanks for the update but you have uploaded the right style to the wrong thread :(

Sean James 10-06-2011 10:10 AM

lol So i did. Thanks mate. Updated thread.

iyama 10-06-2011 05:48 PM

Sean again for president.
Faster then a upgrade mail from vBulletin v4.1.7 :D

Sean James 10-18-2011 05:35 AM

4.1.7 package to include a few bug fixes and CMS and Blog XML files.

iyama 10-18-2011 08:02 AM

Must i only import the .xml or the total package Sean?

Sean James 10-19-2011 12:43 AM

If you have the whole suite you will need to uploaded all 3 of them, merging the blog and CMS into the main XML

Webbstre 10-19-2011 12:58 AM

I only imported the regular file. Nothing appears wrong, but I'm guessing I need to do this merging? How do I do that?

Sean James 10-20-2011 11:08 PM

What you do is upload the blog and CMS XML files and click the 'merge into' from the drop down box.

Webbstre 10-21-2011 12:18 AM

I just want to mention that attempting to merge the CMS and blog files into my theme completely killed the CMS section :P The sidebar now takes up most of the page and the actual article previews take up only a very small amount. It looks like when I merged it completely changed all the width and margin values, so now I have to go in and fix them all. Fortunately this is still just on my test domain.

Webbstre 10-21-2011 12:31 AM

Just going to try to attach some screenshots to show what happened. The picture with the ugly red "test domain" background is my test domain, after attempting to merge the blog and cms style files into the theme. The clean background is my live site still running 4.1.4, and this is what the 4.1.7 theme's layout looked like before the merge.

Scyther 10-21-2011 12:31 PM

Cool style, marked installed.

Sean James 10-25-2011 01:24 AM

Does this happen on a clean install of the skin mate?

Also in your template manager do you see any CMS templates that are red and need reverting?

Webbstre 10-25-2011 02:12 AM

Yup, I did some more testing over the last couple days, and even without my customizations (those are in a sub-theme anyways) and a fresh install of just the Darkness theme, importing the CMS' xml file always has the same result.

Also, I just checked my template notifications and the only warnings I get on the site are for the outdated (and untouched since upgrading) 4.1.4 styles.

I ended up exporting my own customized version and importing it to a new sub-style of a fresh install of Darkness without the CMS merged into it.

Have you been able to duplicate this? If it helps, the order I tested was a fresh Darkness install, then merging in the blog's xml file, and then merged in the cms' xml file. I managed to get the weird template thing to happen four times when I tried this.

Sean James 10-26-2011 09:37 AM

I havent been able to duplicate this and I tested on different boards without problems.

Is this happening without importing your changes as a sub style?

Webbstre 10-26-2011 11:33 AM

I just double checked, and yes, it does it on my test board even if I I don't import my sub-style. I just imported a fresh Darkness theme (minus my customized images), and then right after that merged the CMS file and it broke again. If you want to check it out you can PM me here or on your site and I'll give you the access to the test domain.

Extra note: I should mention that my style looks fine in the CMS without importing the extra file though. Is there something I'd be missing if I don't import it?

Sean James 10-27-2011 07:25 AM

If you dont import you will not have the CMS styling, but if you do then I am not sure lol

The person at vBulletin with the stupid idea of splitting the skin into 3 XML files should be shot!!!

Webbstre 10-27-2011 10:27 AM

I dunno, the CMS looks fine to me so long as I don't import the CMS file... it looks like the rest of the site :P

kyroxj 10-30-2011 10:32 AM

great theme thanks heaps

CaptCom 11-15-2011 02:08 PM

I thank you again for this awesome template. Unfortunately, there still a major bug since day one of the creation and even after all these upgrades.

The major bug is advertising. Advertising features are simply not working with this theme. Ads that can be placed in the header, below the navigation bar and above footer, etc... don't show at all. No matter if its in the cms or in the forums.

Is there a way that this bug could be fixed?

Thanks again for your hard work.

SteveLV702 11-15-2011 04:37 PM

broken in version 4.1.8 hopefully still in development and fixed soon :)

Ads have always worked for me in all versions. Are you sure you have the right criteria chosen to view the ad?

CaptCom 11-16-2011 01:29 AM

I have 6 templates in use and only this one doesn't show the ads. Even their new version, BP-Brown-ver4.1.7 does the same. So I really doubt the problem is on my side.

Please check your pm ;) ( Charlie )

iyama 11-16-2011 06:01 AM

Normaly is Sean faster with a update mail than VB. :D
Buth if i read Digital Mayhem his post, its better to wait for Sean?

editor.css
editor_contents.css
facebook_likebutton
footer

iyama 11-21-2011 06:36 AM

Hi Sean,

I'm stil using vb4.1.7 if i see the problems above with the upgrade to 4.1.8 with your style.

Edit: I figur it out. ;)

Sean James 11-25-2011 01:15 PM

Skin updated to vBulletin 4.1.8.

This release has many bug fixes so I suggest updating to it.

In 4.1.8 the editor is now styled using the stylevars, so all custom css in the editor.css and editor_contents.css templates have been reverted.

Do you have any templates for 'ads' that are red? if so revert them.

Sorry I had to redo the editor and some other bugs this time round :( took me much longer than expected.

iyama 11-25-2011 06:12 PM

Must i upload the compleet map + xml or is only the xml good?

And again thnx for all the good work to this skin m8 :D

kc67 11-27-2011 03:13 AM

If you use the CMS you need to upload all 3 XML files. Follow his instructions in the text file. After the style is installed and the darkness.xml is uploaded do the next two (CMS and Blog). Make sure you select Darkness under 'Merge Into Style' in the Download/Upload Styles section.

kyroxj 11-27-2011 04:06 AM

any update on why the ads dont show up

cheers
