Sure, this script needs to be executed

Code:

<script type="text/javascript" src="http://partner.googleadservices.com/gampad/google_service.js">
</script>
<script type="text/javascript">
GS_googleAddAdSenseService("ca-pub-12345678901234567890");
  GS_googleEnableAllServices();
</script>
<script type="text/javascript">
GA_googleAddAttr("12345", "68798");
GA_googleAddSlot("ca-pub-12345678901234567890", "Rectangle_1345687");
GA_googleAddSlot("ca-pub-12346579841659846", "Superbanner_1123456789");
GA_googleFetchAds();
</script>

before the actual banner within the <body> is served:
Code:

<script type="text/javascript">
  GA_googleFillSlot("Rectangle_123456789");
</script>

Not sure if this has been reported yet, but the "Javascript Optimiser" causes the new Facebook Connect functionality in 4.0.3 to not work.

Edit: It appears to be a conflict with this plugin and vBSEO. If I have just vBSEO enabled, FB connect works fine. If I have just this plugin enabled, FB connect works fine, but if I have them both enabled, it breaks it. Any suggestions? :D

I can confirm that I have this problem too.

Any thoughts please?

That may be because facebook javascript is put to the bottom of the page by this product. Try to deactivate this option in the products setting>Options.

Sorry, but which option are you exactly referring to?

Disabling the JS optimization itself? Was hoping for a better solution then that.

admincp>vB4: Supercharged>Enable Javascript Optimiser: deactivate this

My forum is very fast even when disabling this. The other options and the compressing of css and javascript are efficient.

ps2wiz 04-20-2010 04:22 PM

Yeah, but FB connect is a default vB feature now. And vBSEO is a pretty popular plug-in. I'd love to have both of them fully operating along with this product.

Any thoughts from the original coder himself?

As far as I know, the owner of vbseo (Mert) is now official employed coder for IB itself.

Very interesting...

But I was referring to the coder of this mod.

doraj 04-21-2010 03:28 PM

Hello,

is this Mod perfectly compatible with vBSeo?

Thanks

Not if you have Facebook Connect enabled, yet.

Just so you know, I've found that if I disable your mod's HTML optimizer AND vBSEO's HTML optimizer and leave Javascript optimization on, FB connect works. If I have EITHER of the HTML optimizers ON, I have to disable Javascript optimization for it to work...weird. I hope it's not too hard of a fix. :D

It will be importnt to note that you are also using the mod "[YUI] Tabbed Forum Home" and like I instructed you in that thread, you will need to host to host the .js files locally or just turn off Javascript Optimization

i have upgraded to 4.0.3 and VIEWING THE FORUM AS A GUEST i cant see the forum tabs (using tabbed forum home mod)...i will explain:

if i edit FORUMHOME TEMPLATE EDIT 1 forumhome changes, i cant see my header logo (the header is smaller like there is no logo specified, and the login/pass boxes are moved to the left instead of be on the right

then, if i made FORUMHOME TEMPLATE EDIT 2 changes, i cant see the forums (no tabs..no forums...nothing). its like there aren?t any forums.

if i disable Javascript Optimiser options from supercharged 1.3 mod i can see all ok...tabs and everything

I dont know why this issue it is only VIEWING THE FORUM AS A GUEST. If im logged with my user...everything works fine...

i hope to enable Javascript Optimiser option and keep using this fantastic mod!

Yes, vB Optimise only does internal caching and such. I run both.

I use 2 pro versions and 2 light versions on my 4 vb4 Forums.

Works perfectly together

I use ServInt for my servers, and they are renouned as having highly optimised, proficient servers... I have now tried this mod over the course of VB4 development, and every single time it has slowed the delivery and increased the actual pages size. I just thought I would give it another shot on 4.0.3, same thing. It just took the browsers compressed page from just over 500kb to over 800kb by implementing this mod.

I am glad it helps others, but I would honestly say for anyone who is on highly optimised servers with a lot of custom server code, that this may slow your end result than speed it up.

Please don't get me wrong, I am well aware that DarkImmortal is one hell of a coder, and this is certainly no slant against them, but more an awareness that this may not suit someone on highly optimised servers that already deliver at the ultimate level possible to the user.

StarBuG 04-25-2010 01:38 PM

BUG:
with vBSEO and vBSC installed pm notifications popup doesn't create a new tab/window

Installed vBSEO 3.5 RC3 on vB4.0.3 with latest vBSC

Please fix that :)

Thanks

Darkimmortal 04-26-2010 02:27 PM

I'm currently trying to get a test license for vBSEO so I can fix the various conflicts.

EDIT: Got one :D :D :D

I went from over 500kb to over 300kb, but uninstalling this product.

Darkimmortal 04-26-2010 11:24 PM

If download size matters so much, I suppose I should get round to making the Javascript optimiser work without the common script cache. Then it would be marginally lower on top of most of the other benefits.

In my case addon adds 100Kb more to download (VBulletin scripts are pretty much compressed already). And I noticed, that css files are not replaced by their compressed variants on some reason (option on this is enabled).

Here are my YSlow results with and w/o addon:

Darkimmortal 04-27-2010 02:26 PM

The total download size is not what this mod is designed to fix/improve - it's more focused on perceptible load speed on a primed cache. Is that not what matters on a forum?

FractalizeR 04-28-2010 07:41 AM

May be it is, but I don't see any reason why optimization mod should add anything to things, I already have.
Anyway, it works good without glitches. And it really improves website ratio for Google PageSpeed and Yahoo Yslow. In my case it didn't replace css files with a compressed version however...

imbonez9 04-29-2010 07:33 PM

why is attachment optimization not recommended for apache?

searched this mod thread and couldnt find out so im sorry if this has been addressed.

ps2wiz 05-01-2010 07:25 AM

Just curious if you have an ETA on releasing a new version that addresses the bug fixes relating to FB Connect, vBSEO, PM pop-up and others previously mentioned?

Thanks for your contribution.

TheBish 05-04-2010 02:48 AM

Noticeable difference. Thank you!

Apache, similar threaded webservers and PHP-FPM on FastCGI can spawn new PHP processes to meet demand. Simple FastCGI setups based on spawn-fcgi or something similar can't, and so the limited simultaneous PHP requests available are tied up while people download attachment images.

You might benefit from slightly lower load with it, but there isn't going to be a significant difference really. And by having to store attachments from a publicly accessible location, forum access restrictions no longer apply for anyone determined to download a particular attachment.

TheBish 05-04-2010 03:22 AM

Just curious but my CMS Section Widget got all funky even though it says here that it was corrected.

Code:

0.7:

    * Changes made to vbsc.php - don't forget vbsc.zip when updating.
    * Fixed CMS sections widget not working with JS Optimiser enabled. The fix for this will probably also fix other YUI-related issues.
    * Fixed visitor messages being too wide with CSS Optimiser enabled.

I turned off JS Optimiser and it is back to normal.

Any chance I can get the widget to look right with the JS Optimizer enabled?

Some phrase (posted by user, by user ...) lost space (become: posted byuser, byuser) when I enable Enable HTML Optimiser.
Thank you.

Yup I've noticed that too - it's on my list for the next update.

Hello,

the Hack works well with vB 4.0.2?

Thank you

It should work, but no guarantees.
