How much do the additional games cost? Sorry if it's been asked, but 27 pages is a lot to read :D Working on it though.

Biker_GA 06-05-2009 01:22 AM

I still have to see how to remove and add games because I have a couple that I've downloaded, but I haven't been able to get them to work yet :(

For removing games, you can do that through the ACP (ACP => v3 Arcade => Game Tools). For adding games, there are actually a few different ways of doing it. v3A games can be added via the v3A Game Store or using the Mass Import feature (ACP => v3 Arcade => Game Tools => v3 Arcade - Mass Game Import). IBP games can be added via the the Mass Import feature as well (ACP => v3 Arcade => Game Tools => ib "Pro" Arcade - Mass Game Import). If you are using the mass game import then the thing to remember is that you can import one type of game at a time or another (eg: all v3A games or all IBP games) but you can not mix & match during the same import session. Just upload the files (zip files for v3A games, tar files for IBP games) to your server in the /forums/admincp/games folder and then click the button; you do not need to manually unzip/untar any files.

There are about two dozen additional games available for free over at v3Arcade.com. Those games are offered with the permission of the game creators. Above & beyond that, games can be found via Google/Bing/Yahoo/etcetera. Since the emphasis of v3 Arcade is offering legally available games we do not point users to any specific download sites since we can not vouch for the games they offer.

First time I have heard of a problem like that. As Biker_GA mentioned, I would start with checking your vBulletin cookie settings and also making sure that your URLs are correct (eg: If you go to http://yoursite.com and login and then go to http://www.yoursite.com/arcade.php to play games, then based upon your cookie settings you'll have the problem you're describing).

daihlo 06-05-2009 02:22 PM

Problem installing! Followed the simple instrutions, have everything uploaded into the right folders but when adding the xml file I get this error

Warning: require_once([path]/includes/class_database_analyse.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in [path]/admincp/plugin.php(1995) : eval()'d code on line 3

Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/forum/includes/class_database_analyse.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /forum/admincp/plugin.php(1995) : eval()'d code on line 3

Any suggestions?

KW802 06-05-2009 02:24 PM

daihlo, make sure that you have plugins turned on in your ACP and that all of the files from the zip were uploaded prior to installing the product XML.

daihlo 06-05-2009 02:28 PM

plug ins is on, will go through the files again.
Thanks.

daihlo 06-05-2009 03:01 PM

daihlo 06-05-2009 04:21 PM

I reuploaded everything, now the above has gone but when I try to enter arcade under my admin account, I get this!

you do not have permission to access this page.

daihlo 06-05-2009 04:25 PM

KW802 06-05-2009 04:40 PM

Daihlo, thanks for confirming that you're up & running!

daihlo 06-05-2009 04:44 PM

think I need to get activated on the v3 site now to download games... :-)

forum4 06-05-2009 05:56 PM

Well, pretty easy install for sure. Took me a few minutes to fix the active category tab and the newsdate tab.

Games seem to work and that little trophy is super cute in the postbit! Now, as long as the ladies don't think my inner child has taken over :D

Marked installed and 5 stars!

karel1985 06-06-2009 10:53 AM

Hi All,

When i look at the high-score I dont see the Time. I see H:i , d-M-Y

Its set up like: H:i , d-M-Y

example: http://www.pc-helpforum.be/arcade.ph...res&gameid=123

Biker_GA 06-06-2009 11:19 AM

Try H:i, j M Y

FiMeTi 06-06-2009 02:44 PM

Few Fixes needed. Installed. Thanks for the god work!

# 1

In "News & Events" only the latest event(news) shows up in bb-code.
Still can see older ones, but not porper bb-code.

Example:
latest displays well.
play2 is the new Funky Pong champion!

Older ones display:
HTML Code:

[B]player1[/B] is the new [B]Tetris[/B] champion!
Any fix?

# 2
Challenge System aint working and this is very pity. Disabled the Addon, untill this is fixed.
Whatever I try, there are always no permission for it.
I used automatic template edits and checked the templates myself. Alls fine and the permissions are set in usergroups and in "default user settings", too. But Challenges do not work. I installed newsest Version the first time, tho.
Also tried without the "if clause" in postbit. Than I can see it, but no permissions.

# 3
In "Logged In As" there is a white background in the normal colored background.
How can I get rid of that white color and keep the standard background instead?

:up::up:

Was this an upgrade or a fresh install? Older versions of v3A used a combination of both HTML & BB Code while current versions use only one method. That means that your new items will be displayed correctly while old entries likely will not. As your arcade gets more items the older items will eventually drop off from being displayed.

What part exactly is not working?

Can I get a link to see your site? The colors are coming from the vBulletin style and is not hard-coded to be white.

FiMeTi 06-07-2009 06:47 PM

I fixed the challenge part, but for the rest I?ve send you a PM.

Would be good to have something in the Game, where we can easy Ask for Challenge.
On the right, where you can change the solution of a game for example, we could add below a form, where we can add the username whom we want to challenge. Like in private message, the system can suggest you the right username, after you write about 3 letters. Something easy. :)

KW802 06-10-2009 02:18 PM

FiMeTi, we have started the testing of v3 Arcade 2.0.0 (Alpha 3 right now) and so I will take your PM & suggestions to see what we can work into the new release.

I really like that idea of the AJAX name search of finding a user to challenge but at this point it likely won't make it for 2.0.0 but I will be keeping that one in mind for the future.

MissKalunji 06-10-2009 02:43 PM

quick question is it safe to import from IPB? will it import everything?

Thanks

Not yet. The current importer was made prior to the current versions of v3 Arcade supporting IBP v32 games so those games would be a problem. IBP games yes, IPB v32 games no. We have been holding off on creating an updated importer because v3 Arcade 2.0.0 coming soon. That version (currently in testing over at v3A) introduces several new features. Once we get 2.0.0 released as a Gold version then we'll be working on an updated importer.

MissKalunji 06-10-2009 03:01 PM

Great thank you :) i'll keep an eye on the thread

Kawe,

With the 1.x.x series you'll need do use a plugin. I don't recall if I posted this here at vB.org but you can grab a copy of the plugin from this thread over at v3Arcade.com.

Going forward with the 2.x.x series (in Alpha testing right now), the ability of specifying the default category will be an option in the ACP instead of having to use a plugin.

Contra Fates 06-11-2009 08:44 PM

I really love this arcade, it's definitely my favorite one.

But, I did notice one odd thing with it. I have the Vbulletin Blog on my forums, and in the User CP, at the bottom, it says 'Edit Arcade Options,' but it's under a 'Blog' tab.

Have you heard of this before, or know of a way to fix it?
Thanks!

Contra Fates, it should be showing up under the "Miscellaneous" grouping in the UCP. It relies upon the "usercp_nav_complete" template hook so if you're using a custom style it may be possible that the template hook is not in the right spot. If you don't think that is the case, forward me the URL (PM here or at v3Arcade.com if you prefer to keep the URL private) and I'll take a look. :)

... and welcome to the v3A community.

I don't recall there being a single game upload option but you can still put the files in your /admincp/games folder and choose the Mass Import options.

Hello, thanks for reply.

I've tryed without success. It always says that "There are no more games to import." when this isnt so.

File Path The location of your uploaded files, in relation to your root forum folder. It should be readable AND writeable by your web server (usually chmod 0777). = myadmincp/games

is this configuration correct? And if yes, why i cant upload more games also if there're on the games folder?

I've so many games downloaded that i cant upload anymore :(

Before with single upload all working (ok, was one at time but work) with mass import not.

Thanks,
Daniele

--- EDIT

On default the folder is "admincp", i've another name for this folder so, with mass import gives me a error:

Fatal error: Call to a member function read() on a non-object in E:\inetpub\vhosts\webgif.com\httpdocs\forums\admin _cp\arcadeadmin.php on line 643

i've changed so the two lines on "arcadeadmin.php" when was the folder "admincp" in "myadmincp" and the error doesn't show anymore. But it continues to show always the same messages that there aren't anymore games to import.

this hack looks cool

are the games the same quality as iBPro?

how many games are there?

where do i download the game from?

@danyz81:
If you have some knowledge of the v3arcade MySQL tables, my addon to manually install games could be of use to you.. :)

If you want, I can take a look at your installation versus the settings. You have raised a good point about sites where the name of the default "admincp" folder has been renamed. The name of that folder should really be a dynamic variable to handle situations like that. I will add that to do the master "To Do" list to get it into a future version.

v3 Arcade can use v3 Arcade games, IPB games, and IPB v32 games. So, yes, the quality of games is the same. :p There is a small collection of example games available directly at v3Arcade.com. Above & beyond that, you'll need to use Google or other search engine to locate sites to download games from. We do not list any specific sites since we can not vouch for the games on those sites. For future versions, we are working on making the process easier.

Nice. :) Just remember that the table names are changing with the upcoming 2.0.0 release.

I'll obviously do an update for it if Brian doesn't consider it for standard 2.0.0..

Hopefully it'll be a lot prettier if the admincp file has some hooks.

I don't think it is on Brian's To Do list at the moment. He has been buried deep in his underground bunker working on Project X with the thought of hopefully including that work in the next release.

I know you mentioned it over at v3A but did you list specifically where you'd need the new hooks? I'm sure that wouldn't be a problem getting them in 2.0.0.

Oblivion Knight 06-15-2009 06:30 AM

No I didn't, but I could suggest a few to get the ball rolling if needed.. :)

--EDIT--
Suggested in my bugs & proposals thread at v3A.
