I have now got mcrypt working :)

I now get this error:

The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because it uses an invalid or unsupported form of compression.

It is on this page - http://www.socceram.net/forums/tweet...hread&id=62773

Thanks

I am not sure what ragtek has done, but several facets that many have asked for are already implemented, just not for anyone to use yet. What I don't get is the fact that everyone believes that I should dedicate all my free time to developing this and my other modifications, when I do this for free, as a hobby. That alone should mean that I shouldn't be placed into a schedule that you all expect. My schedule will and always will be "when it is done" as that gives you the best possible product -- with minimal bugs. Now if I sounded harsh, I just spent this entire day working and doing homework, and in my ten minutes of spare time, I come on here to support this.

I just want to say thanks for the great mod. This mod can certainly be improved as I am sure you are more aware of than any of the users of it, but this is a great tool and the vborg community is lucky to have developers willing to take a look at the newer trends of social networking to let their forums integrate popular services like this that their users use massively.

Once again, thanks.

You'll don't see anything in the acp, only in the usercp(options) and ONLY if you have template_hook[usercp_options_other] in your style!

Have you a custom style? If yes, pls check if you have template_hooks!
If not, contant the stylecreater(i hope thats the right word)

What PHP version do you have?

wurkanimal 05-15-2009 03:37 PM

Very nice. Thank you

Sorry to be a moron, but can someone spell out the difference between this mod and the TwitThis! link I added to my forums social bookmarks?

Also - is there a mod to subscribe to a thread via Twitter instead of email? That's what I am really looking for!

Thanks in advance for your patience..

TwitThis? And That second part may be extremely difficult.

I believe he's talking about a vBSEO option.

OK It looks like this mod is more integrated and can tweet not just a thread but an individual post too.. Correct?

Does the tweet this post link appear to every one or just registered members that have put their Twitter account info in their profile?

Thanks!

King Kovifor 05-19-2009 12:34 AM

Yes, it can do individual posts too. And it only shows to those who have linked their accounts through the User CP.

donwon 05-19-2009 12:01 PM

I am going to give this a shot! Being such a noob though I may need some help.

Thanks for the cool add on!

donwon 05-19-2009 12:11 PM

Sorry nevermind, I don't even know where to begin. :) I can install simple mods to my site, but I am not sure where to put these folders through my ftp.

Sorry..

Seems to be working good! Thank You!

bjkinzluvr 05-20-2009 01:14 PM

Downloaded the zipped file, but it won't extract anything useful. Is your download corrupted? I would really like to use this, but need some help with a valid download. Thanks.

I.am 05-20-2009 02:04 PM

Instead to see "check this out" as title there is a chance to have the original thread title?

I don't think so :(
it's been asked

Well, I tried again and again. The zipped file downloads just fine and looks like it's the right size. But when I try to extract the contents, I get errors. I cannot extract valid contents of the file.

It is not my computer b/c I have downloaded and extracted several other files today. All worked fine except this one.

???

I think it would be great to have the original title.

However it work fine on my vb 3.8.2, great mod.

NM. I just read everything above again ... and I see it requires PHP 5. I only have 4.4, so even if I could get the file to extract correctly, I wouldn't be able to run it. So thanks.

Sorry. I don't get a lot of things with PHP like that. And well, the title is working in a dev board...

I think this icon looks a bit better:

Larz979 05-21-2009 02:17 PM

I agree, posting the original title of the thread instead of "check this out" would be awesome. BTW... great Mod

TitanJeff 05-21-2009 02:37 PM

Sort of a related issue that I'm hoping those here might shed some light on.

I'm wanting to have the vB RSS bring in tweets to my forum. I get an error now due to the user/pass requirement.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

Larz979 05-21-2009 04:35 PM

Something like this? http://www.ridgidforum.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=47 I just used the standard RSS feeds into the forum. Have to create a forum to drop em in and a user to post them under. And of course set up the RSS Feed under the control panel.

TitanJeff 05-21-2009 05:02 PM

Thanks Larz but I tried that and I get the following error from vB admin:

XML Error: Unknown Feed Type at Line 0

I don't want to go off-topic here so please PM me if possible. Thanks.

wolfstream 05-21-2009 05:51 PM

Does not work!
When trying to "tweet this thread" (via any of the links), I get:

Quote:

We're sorry, but the Username and Password provided within your User CP could not be authenticated. Please modify either your Username or Password to match your current Twitter Username / Password and try again.
mcrypt is installed, and the u/p are correct (I just tested them on twitter), as well as the password being encrypted in the db.

It could be that I know some passwords seem to NOT work with the Twitter API...

Not the password at all. I've changed it probably 4, 5 times, still no luck, so it's not the password at all.

King Kovifor 05-21-2009 11:08 PM

Odd. I'm hoping to resolve this as soon as I can (OAuth).

kairev 05-22-2009 01:50 PM

Hmm I installed this, followed all of the instructions, but no Twitter icon is showing up anywhere...

Will click install once this is resolved since...well it isn't technically installed until it's working, lol.

King Kovifor 05-23-2009 07:13 PM

Do you have a custom style?

kairev 05-25-2009 01:58 PM

Yes, Blaze 3.8

AzH 05-25-2009 07:25 PM

Hi. THis is my error. A malformed URL when I click the tweeted link:

It looks like you have your forum url set to forums/ and in the tweet.php it is doubling the '/' with '/tp.php?i'

I am assuming that if you change your forum url to no '/' you should be OK.

mikeo9043 05-26-2009 04:12 AM

For some reason the little Twitter logo next to Tweet this, isn't showing up for me? what could be the problem?

Nvm I got it.

mykkal 05-26-2009 08:16 PM
