sweet!

thanks!

marcus_brutus 07-14-2007 08:55 AM

Hi,

Thanks very much for this great hack. I have a question which was posted about the orginal hack. A couple of the guys posted that there's potential security issues with the hack, they were saying that there's nothing to stop someone from embeding a link redirecting from within a flash movie to another site and then harvesting your member logins etc. I wasn't certain if this potential issue only applies to the previous hack, or to others including the latest version. Can you confirm?

Thanks a lot
marcus

nix 07-14-2007 09:25 AM

I answered your pm but I'll also answer it here. What they're trying to say is that if you allow people to embed flash files it could potentially be used in a negative way. You can turn off any of the extensions you don't want them to use. So for instance you could only allow the video sites.

This would apply to any mod or hack that allows people to embed. I personally only allow video sites. You have to decide what is best for your forum.

smoknz28 07-14-2007 10:16 PM

Mmmm.....can someone help me along in determining why I'm getting the following error when attempting to post the link with AnyMedia?

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: curl_init() in /xxxx/xxxxxxx/public_html/forums/includes/class_anymedia.php on line 239

Here's what is on line 239: $handle = curl_init();

I am running the latest version of AnyMedia and vBulletin.

nix 07-14-2007 10:51 PM

looks like your server doesn't support curl. What link are you trying to use? If you don't have curl yahoo, dailymotion and break will not work.

smoknz28 07-14-2007 10:53 PM

Thanks Nix....I'm trying to use a YouTube video link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=owMjAbkU1eE

I'll see if I can figure out how to see if my server supports "curl". Do you have any suggestions on how to find this out however>?

nix 07-14-2007 10:57 PM

I'll add a check for curl before it does it so it doesn't kick those errors out. I upload it here in a sec.

To find out of you have curl, goto your adminCP and look under Maintenance. You'll see php info. Just do a search for Curl.

smoknz28 07-14-2007 10:59 PM

Did a check through my php info....with a search of "curl" and nothing found.

Please post up when the file is ready for download.

Thanks again Nix for your support. ;)

nix 07-14-2007 11:09 PM

Can you check to see if you have fopen?

allow_url_fopen On On

nix 07-14-2007 11:16 PM

I'll add something that checks to see which one you have and then use it. So you still can have the function of titles and yahoo etc.

smoknz28 07-14-2007 11:20 PM

Thanks brother....patiently awaiting new upload. ;)

nix 07-15-2007 12:50 AM

Updated

3.0.9.5
- Added check for curl or fopen for titles, yahoo, dailymotion and break. Curl is the default.

This update isn't required if you are not having problems with titles and those video sites that require curl or fopen.

smoknz28 07-15-2007 01:10 AM

Nix, with the 3.0.9.5....the YouTube videos are working. :D

Thanks

iogames 07-15-2007 03:10 AM

I'm going to break a record, I update this hack 3 times at day LOL

Ah, did you see this? I FOUND Anymedia 3.1 :D:D:D

Tanabe 07-16-2007 04:50 AM

Hummm I install this hack twice making sure I did the templates right and uploaded everything to the correct places but I still keep getting

Error: unsupported media type.

I tried using Youtube and Dailymotion.

nix 07-16-2007 06:54 AM

What link are you using for youtube? Is it enabled? Is the global video sites setting enabled?

Tanabe 07-17-2007 12:14 AM

I left this option on yes

Enable Video Sites Globally

I just picked a random Youtube code

Code:

<object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/K9hsIu6jPIg"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/K9hsIu6jPIg" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>
And used the Media tags around it and this is what I get

halcyoncmdr 07-17-2007 12:21 AM

It is the url that goes in the media tag, not the embed code.

nix 07-17-2007 01:32 AM

Yea you would just use something like this.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpwlsCxY7vU

testebr 07-17-2007 03:21 AM

Hi nix,

Can you add support to this adult website www.youporn.com ?

Thanks

nix 07-17-2007 03:47 AM

I added a couple of other adult sites but the only way so far that I can see to add youporn would be to have it download the flv file to your server and stream it off there. Not really an option for most.

Finster 07-17-2007 05:18 AM

It worked for a while, now the media player box, when I try to upload a YouTube video says:

"You need to upgrade your Flash Player tags"

My flash version is the latest for my os.

nix 07-17-2007 05:23 AM

Sounds ilke you're using an older version of anymedia. It also says that you haven't downloaded this mod.

tipoboy 07-18-2007 04:19 PM

just upgraded and got this error while trying to add a .flv video

Code:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 17392233 bytes) in /mounted-storage/*******/******/************/mysite.co.uk/forum/includes/class_anymedia.php on line 247

uploaded all the new templates overwritn the old product etc

any help is appreciated

edit: just uploaded a wmv file and everything went ok, also tried the revert as mentioned in the original post and that didnt cure the error

testebr 07-18-2007 06:54 PM

I have same problem.

If I try add any video like this:

[media]url_here/video/any_video.wmv[/media]

My board load eternally and never post my message....

But for website like youtube all work fine.

What can be? That is a bug?

Thanks

testebr 07-18-2007 08:28 PM

hmmm I tested in localhost and I find the problem:

Quote:

Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 60 seconds exceeded in .....................includes\class_anymedia.php on line 236
Quote:

function hTittle()
{
$hurl = $this->_mediaInfo['link'];
$file = file($hurl);
$file = implode("",$file);

if(preg_match("/<title>(.+)<\/title>/i",$file,$m))
{
$htext = $m;
return "$m[1]";
}
}
*red = line 236

It is impossible to catch the title of a video. My suggestion is for you to review your programming.

tipoboy 07-18-2007 10:12 PM

nix any help with post #425??

nix 07-18-2007 10:20 PM

I'm looking into it. Of course I can't reproduce it. Figures huh.

tipoboy 07-18-2007 10:27 PM

would you like an admin account to log in with, to take a look??

i could sort this out tomorrow if you want?

nix 07-18-2007 10:37 PM

Yea that would help me out.

nul7 07-19-2007 03:55 PM

Thanks for the code fix, I am glad to have the media player working on my site! Keep up the great work Nix

YEAH! i second and backup this issue....means that player has no redirect link to any site...:(

nix 07-19-2007 08:06 PM

Its not me putting it in. Its the video site. If you can find away to add something to the link I'll add it.

On a side note I'm working on a new version of anymedia. Think you guys will like it. :)

ammoskumar 07-20-2007 03:00 AM

woooooooo i cant wait!

ammoskumar 07-20-2007 03:08 AM

NIX i cant embed this video http://video.stage6.com/1273401/.divx this is the download link and i was able to embed video with this link and now it says Error: Failed to parse file URL. but i can embed any other video exmp: http://stage6.divx.com/user/proud_af.../Barsaat-(2005) this link is the regular link from the stage6 and the first one is the download link

nix 07-20-2007 03:37 AM

Since you're putting the divx on the end its reading it as an extension. Could of sworn I fixed this is the latest version.

If you give me a couple of days I'm completely rewriting this. So 3.1 should be out soon. I'll probably need some beta testers before I release it to the public. Not sure home I'm going to handle that part yet.
