FYI: Just purchased and installed SocketMail per a suggestion to replace this mod, unfortunately it does not work with vBulletin at all, the last supported version is 3.0.3. :(

Does anyone know of a way to remove the "Email" link from the navbar?

Ive got a few members testing it out and dont want everyone to see the email link before its rolled out. Or failing that, making it so its only visable to Admins/Super mods.

To remove the email link from the navbar you need to edit the navbar template and comment out the email section.

I have found a couple of problems as well.

Firstly when I send an email using VBMS it gets sent to the recipient twice. How can I change this so that the mails get sent once ?

Also when I send an email to a Gmail account the email displays all the HTML in the message body. I think this is a Gmail setup problem but I'm not sure. Any ideas ?

Rogue, taking out the "Email" will remove the menu access as well. Rather than remove thru comment out (ie:"") in the navbar wrap a condition around it instead like:

<if condition="$bbuserinfo[userid]=10">
. . . do Menu LINK
</if>

I'd like to use the stock notifications that comes with 3.7.0 (runs fine by the way) but not sure where or how to add in but still leaves the problem of where to place the menu access.

Is this the format?

Had to fix line 790 of vbms_class_installer.php

replace:

$usersettings['notls']);

with

$usersettings['vbms_forcenotls']);

To get it to install properly.

I see from the first post this is still regarded as pre final version, are we likely ever to see it issued version or would it be worth looking at something else?

For the record I think its a great hack and have tested it on a closed board but it would be nice to go live with it.

This are the manuall setting for one email account from my server:

Manual Settings
Mail Server Username: catch-all+greekdaddy.com
Incoming Mail Server: mail.greekdaddy.com
Incoming Mail Server: (SSL) driver.ethii.com
Outgoing Mail Server: mail.greekdaddy.com (server requires authentication) port 25
Outgoing Mail Server: (SSL) driver.ethii.com (server requires authentication) port 465
Supported Incoming Mail Protocols: POP3, POP3S (SSL/TLS), IMAP, IMAPS (SSL/TLS)
Supported Outgoing Mail Protocols: SMTP, SMTPS (SSL/TLS)

i try many ways and if i add the red collors i get this messages:

Installation failed while "Testing Settings": vBMS couldn't connect to the mail server using the settings you provided. Please go back and verify their accuracy. If you are not sure of the values to use, consult your host.

ok fixed they need:Incoming Mail Server: (SSL) driver.ethii.com for hostname server

But now i have another problem:
The installation is starts normally but they stop for for more then one our in:
7% Testing settings
1% installation progress

My board is vB 3.7.1 patch 2
What can i do to install the product?

vBMS can realy harms the forums on vb 3.7.1

If my hosting company gives me unlimited amount of e-mail accounts, why would I need this hack? Does this help me in anyway?

For some reason I'm just not grasping the benefits of this mod.

I'm having an issue with the navbar links, they are just going to the page name with no other data on the end, and loading a blank page. For example: http://www.domain.com/forum/vbms.php?

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Nope, no unistaller - It just gives me the option to install.

Im getting bombarded with these emails, about one every minute at the moment :(

this is a Dead BETA Add-ON. it was never completed Nor the errors that were found, fixed.

DO NOT USE on any LIVE Forum Board. it is in Beta Stage and has been for several years.

Considering it was a 3.6.x mod that hasn't been updated in a year and a half, yeah, DOA unless someone rewrites it all.

I do not understand why people keep releasing mods that they do not upgrade for life. What is the use if you code a mod for version x.x and then stop upgrading it for version y.y ???

It's like making people happy with something and then saying f*ck you when it needs an upgrade.

If you look at original hack, I was the one to originally fixed all issues (scattered in many posts) and had it worked perfectly well on my server. Unfortunately, as with all catch all email accounts, this has proven to be a major source for junk mails and I had to disable it.

I've contacted Krofh about recoding this to 3.8x and if he (or anyone with ties to it) have no problems with it, I'll take it on.

Just to be clear, I don't accept donations. Save your money for something else!!!
