Check your server log and see if it gives you the error. A blank page means an error occurred somewhere..

pspcrazy 06-21-2007 07:07 AM

Thanks i got it working :) Is there any way i can make the wordpress users get imported into the vbulletin?

Not with this plugin, no.

pspcrazy 06-21-2007 06:47 PM

No biggie, do you know of a way to get the passwords from wordpress so i can manually add them to vbulletin?

The passwords are md5 encrypted, and that is a one way encryption (you cannot decrypt it, or at least your not supposed to be able to). Really is not any way to do it.

pspcrazy 06-22-2007 01:48 AM

Well thanks :) animecrazy.net is done with integrations and i love how it works :) Here is one last thing that would be cool :) If possible could you make it so that it shows how many users are online from both wordpress and vbulletin on the whos online for vb.

redraider 06-24-2007 07:44 PM

I get the following error:

WordPress database error: [Table 'ajerk_wrdp2.ajerk_usergroup' doesn't exist]
SELECT * FROM ajerk_usergroup

Fixed: Install wordpress in the same database as vbulletin and use a different prefix for the tables. This can be done through the config file for installation.
Thanks jafo232.

Jafo232 06-25-2007 03:49 AM

Remember, wordpress and vbulletin MUST reside in the same database.

redraider 06-25-2007 04:39 PM

Got it :) It works fine. The problem is the posts from wordpress can go only on one (fixed) of the forums, is their a way we can make it go somewhere else?. Am I missing something?

pspcrazy 06-26-2007 12:04 AM

Jafo If possible could you make it so that it shows how many users are online from both wordpress and vbulletin on the whos online for vb.thanks

redraider 06-27-2007 04:31 PM

I have some questions. I was able to install the mod just fine and its great.

1. When someone comments on the wordpress post, the post doesnt get posted as a post on Vbulletin. Is their a feature that needs to be enabled to do this?

2. What about Duplication issues for search engines. Wouldnt google see the thread as duplicate content?

Please let us know

redraider 07-02-2007 03:33 PM

Could anyone please respond to these questions?

Clayton 07-02-2007 04:35 PM

redraider, read through the initial instructions of the installation, it mentions this very feature

It starts with

IF YOU WANT TO USE VB For comments:

Find in any of the following templates: index.php, single.php, page.php.

<!-- start post loop -->
<?php if (have_posts()) : while (have_posts()) : the_post(); ?>

ADD the following code after it:

<?php
### Vbridge Call

calopez 07-03-2007 09:17 AM

Hi!

First of all, thanks to the creator of this useful plugin for wordpress and vbulletin.

I've installed the plugin and everything seems correct, I post in wordpress and the post is published at vbulletin, perfect.

However, I read the instructions for use VBulletins for comments but I have this problem. I copy the first code in index.php, single.php and page.php, no problems, however, I think the problem is when I have to post the code in comments.php. My comments.php:

PHP Code:

<?php // Do not delete these lines

if ('comments.php' == basename($_SERVER['SCRIPT_FILENAME']))
        die (
'Please do not load this page directly. Thanks!');

I had everything working fine, but one of the admins deactivated the plugin. When trying to activate it again, it won't activate. Last time this happened I had to completely reinstall wordpress to get it working again, which I don't want to have to do. Any suggestions?

Thw quickest way I think : is to install wordpress again with a different set of tables, activate the plugin and then change the table names back to the original in the wp-config.php

pspcrazy 07-07-2007 02:46 AM

Um... jafo is there anyway we could make a quick reply box show up instead of having it go to vbulliten for that?

zerk 07-07-2007 08:52 PM

great mod.

gabeanderson 07-09-2007 03:38 PM

A few key questions about this plugin:

1. Can I import all my existing comments from WordPress into vbulletin?
2. Does this plugin support the creation of 1 new thread per blog post in a specified forum? That's what I'm looking to do, so that I can leverage vbulletin for my WordPress blog comments.
3. Can I pull recent comments from the vbulletin thread corresponding to the blog entry to display on my blog? Note that I do this now (Articulate Blog).

Thanks in advance!

pspcrazy 07-10-2007 05:19 AM

1. no
2. yes
3.yes :)

marcus_brutus 07-10-2007 02:14 PM

Hi,

I have downloaded the plugin and I have it working on my localserver. But I have a question. When the post is posted onto the forum of your choice, how would one then edit the copy and then include a back link, can this process be automated as per the link below?

http://www.jeffsrecipes.com/forum/sh...?p=956#post956

IF so can anyone tell me how this is done or do you have to edit the extract and add the link manually?

Jafo232 07-10-2007 08:22 PM

I understand the desire for this feature, as I am using it on a site. I have not put it into the plugin as of yet. I have been pretty busy with custom mods lately but when I get some free time, I will probably make this a feature.

zerk 07-11-2007 09:17 PM

Hi again. I had this mod installed working great, and then today I went to try to add the comments feature.

I come back to check my login and it seems vbridge is no longer activated, I try to activate and everytime it says "plugin activated" when I click to activate it but it NEVER gets activated. I tried deleting and re-uploading the file with no luck...

For now I've removed the edited files and nothing's change.

Any input?

zerk 07-12-2007 02:36 AM

Okay wow have I've done some edits.

The file *I* downloaded had the file name as vbbridge.php (2 b's). I looked IN the file and everything was called to 'vbridge.php (one b).

I also noticed the prefixes were vbb_ ... so i edited all of them in the file to vb_ and it actually stayed installed this time.

Now, the issue is that language issue you talked about with funny characters. I checked my forum and it shows the lang. as default: ISO-8859-1 . So, I tried setting wordpress to that and it seems to work but none of the posts in the forum that were made from the wpadmin are correct.

for those having the admin CP Login issue
  • Goto your phpMyAdmin. and lookin in your vB databse for wp_options and click the browse button.
  • go through your options till you see vbb_VBION. check the box beside it and click Edit.
  • when you get to the edit screen look for option_value and set to "0" This will cut off the intergration to the wordpress and make it where you can login as admin again.
  • Once you get logged back in deactivate the plugin and remove teh file from your admin CP till its eather fixed or another one is made. this will keep the admins you give future access to via the user setting no access to enable the hack and mess up the site.

Im not saying this is a bad hack but this issue of not being able to login needs to be addressed. I have noticed the coder hasn't found this issue yet and I guess those that report it aren't installing the mod right. its not hard to set up a plugin and set up paths.
please fix this thanks

+1 Jafo I will storngly recommend you change the titel and remove word COMPLETE.

This is very bugy and UNcomplete integration of wordpress.

I am sorry you are having trouble with the plugin, but the text you quoted is not speaking about a bug. Of course when you logout of Vbulletin you lose access to the admin. You are logged out. When you log back in, you get access. This is stated in the documentation, I am sorry that my only "bug" was not making it clear enough for you.

Jafo232 07-17-2007 04:36 AM

Just wanted to let everyone know that I have upgraded to a new version (2.06). I have tested it on three environments. Before you upgrade, PLEASE backup your current copy of vbbridge.php.

Upgrading is easy, just replace the vbbridge.php file with the new one. Here are some of the fixes and new features:

07/17/2007
  • Fixed problem where upload iframe was a bit mangled.
  • Fixed problem where users had to refresh the dashboard once after logging in.
  • Fixed problem that arose from Wordpress 2.2.1 upgrade that would not allow activation.
  • Fixed logout issue where users would still be logged into Wordpress.
  • When a Wordpress post is deleted, so is the thread it created.
  • Added option to allow thread posted from Wordpress article to be truncated, with a linkback to the article.
  • Fixed issue when user re-activates plugin, and vb_threadid column already exists. Now checks for column first.
  • Removed a stray VB_Init() call.
  • Forums that do not allow threads will not be selectable in the drop down menu when writing a post.
  • Forums are listed out in a parent/child nested pattern.
  • (Note: 367 downloads of version 2.05)
I will be sending out an update notice to all that marked the plugin as installed.

The text I quoted and many other speak about trouble with login logout as via wordpress itself, that I also have had - No way to access wp-admin panel.

marcus_brutus 07-17-2007 07:03 AM

Ok, we've spent some time trying to integrate this hack with Wordpress. I have the very latest version of vbulletin v3.6.7.

Here is a brief summary of the issues which we have encountered:
  • It did not update VB in all instances when you made a change to the original entry.
  • It was unsuccessful in getting any registered user, other than admin, login so that they could submit entries on Wordpress.
  • Having installed the Vbulletin commenting system it did not work.

Admin was able to post to selected vbulletin forums though....

I'd be interested to hear from anyone who has resolved the above issues and specifically could you tell us how you managed to do just that...

Did you map those users? Mapping only applies to the users primary vbulletin user group.

Are you using the updated plugin updated last night (well, early this morning)?

I've found the problem!!!

We use FastCGI for the php execution and there is a problem with the variable $_SERVER['SCRIPT_NAME'] with fastcgi and it has to be replaced with $_SERVER['PHP_SELF']

now it´s working!

Great! I found the original problem was fixed by just telling the plugin to return and do nothing when viewing the upload page. That is why I was surprised you were still having the issue.

Glad all is well. :)
