I just changed my template back to the default one with vb and the image show.

So how do I prefix all my image urls please :-)

What do I do? :(

UPDATE: ANOTHER BUG:

I seem to be getting an error in IE6 and I see that it is saying there is an issue here in the code on my groups forum thread view page:

I think the error is that you have onClick= ... and then an img tag is right within that onclick. You didnt end the onclick function :(

the quick reply problem appears to be yours alone.

as for the bug despite actually being a user option, i've fixed it for RC9b due out within the hour.

if you have an image like "/images/ipod/header_1.gif" change it to "http://www.yoursite.com/images/ipod/header_1.gif".

sabret00the 10-10-2006 10:39 AM

New Zip:
Groups v2.0.0 RC9b.zip: re-fixes two spelling mistakes, fixes a viewthread.php string_replacement via the admincp and turns the default random image count down to that of which is provided.

I am having the same problem. I don't have Zoints or whatever on my site. I do use VBSEO, however the templates are not being compressed and by all rights nothing I would suspect should have changed.

The ZSEO problem seems to have been the result of a <base href="" /> tag, i'm unfamiliar with vBSEO tbh so really couldn't begin to guess the cause, i can only suggest disabling vBSEO testing to see is the problem still exists and then reporting back with your findings.

I really can't wait until I can go live with this hack. It's way cool.

I'm getting a ton of broken images and bad links (probably related to each other). Is there a setting I've missed somewhere? Here is my main directory for the groups -- http://www.churchmedia.net/groups/

Here are some examples:

Code:

http://www.churchmedia.net/groups/customavatars/avatar1_34.gif
It didn't change to my forum directory...

Code:

http://www.churchmedia.net/CMN/images/grps/grps_noimage_9.gif
Changed directories -- but that image doesn't exist.

Code:

http://www.churchmedia.net/CMN/groups/groups.php?g=1
From my user cp -- under "My Groups". It didn't change directory (no CMN).

Any help is greatly appreciated. You can count on a donation for this hack :)

EDIT: Sorry, it wasn't set for guests to see. I changed the permissions.

Any ideas or help with this

toolblast 10-11-2006 04:57 AM

hey man.

The reply problem seems to occur no matter what site i install it on. I've tried 2 different posts, two different vbulletin installs. One 3.6.1 and the other 3.6.2

Take a look: http://orion.ifusehosting.com/~undrgrad/groups/

Login with demo/demo

Go into the test group... you'll see I was able to post just fine.. but nobody can reply!

I've set 'reply' permissions in the usergroup to YES... so theres no reason they cant.

If you click the QUOTE button... you can reply just fine. But only if you quote. The quickreply button is missing.

It is the default vb skin... no edits. So.... the buttons werent mysteriously erased.

Any idea? I can PM you the admincp info if you wish

toolblast 10-11-2006 04:58 AM

ignore the glitch in the 'infraction' icon thing... The point to focus on is that there is no reply button lol :)

by default, there is no quick reply button in order to enable posting. what i'll do is put this down as a bug and force the vBoptions it requires.

no guest access in order to check the differences between should be's and is's.

the first one is down to the assumption that customavatars are stored above the site ROOT. i can't recall how i tweaked this earlier.

the second one (though i'm sure i ducked the admincp option down to 3) is probably due to the fact that image doesn't exist. but it seems to be pointing to the right directory or am i wrong?

third, am i to assume that your homeurl is set to the same as your fourms url?

1) Sorry -- when I re-installed the hack it reset the permissions. Guest permissions are on so you can see the groups: www.churchmedia.net/groups

2) Yeah, the groups dir is in the site root. The custom avatars are in /CMN/customavatars/

3) Right -- it's pointing to the right dir, but I just don't have an image called grps_noimage_9.gif. Not a big deal.

4) I did change my home URL from my forums URL. So home is set to http://www.churchmedia.net and forums is set to http://www.churchmedia.net/CMN/

Thanks for your help on this. I think the main problem is getting the avatars to point to the right directory. If we can nail that, I think I'm ready to go live with it. :)

KevNJ 10-11-2006 05:28 PM

Any future plans to allow a custom group image. If theres a group about Mustangs for the group leader to add a "Mustang" image as the group image ? Like on myspace ?

Shmee 10-11-2006 09:25 PM

Well, I use this on a forum with over 600,000 users. There's a few pages within the script that timeout. I'm thinking it's a query causing the page to hang.

Is there anyway I can print out all queries in a page so I can run them myself to see which is causing the hang?

groups.php is one of the scripts.

Ok, so can I expect this in the next RC release? I'd really like to use groups but I'd need to be able to have this sorted out before I roll it out :)

Thanks!!

Are you serious? You are running beta code that has a few known bugs?

I suggest that you prune your user database. How many of those people logged in the last 12 months? If you do indeed have over 100k users than you shouldn't be playing with this script right now.

KevNJ 10-12-2006 01:49 AM

how is this not winning for mod of the month ?!??!

vote for it https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=127951

It's not open to the public yet. I'm only modifying it till it's how I want it.

I'm working off a private url. I do not understand your reasoning.

I'm not worried about being hacked, I have daily backups.

stop trying to scare monger, there are zero known security bugs in this script.

sabret00the 10-12-2006 01:53 PM

i'm really not about today sadly, but i am hoping to work on RC10 tomorrow to try and remove problems with redirects timing out and forcing the necessary vBulletin options.

Thank you sooo much! I can't wait to start using it with the forced vb options :)

Agreed. Let him do whatever he wants Trana. Sure, it isn't smart to run beta scripts on a large site like that, but he does have 600,000 users... so I think he knows what he's doing :P

Oh... and I VOTED too. GRPS should win!

Neutral Singh 10-12-2006 02:44 PM

I am loving it!! Cant wait for GRPS becoming Gold!! Thanks

Is there any wayout as to how can header template show homepage link instead of groups homepage link?

No one is trying to "scare monger", and I didn't mention security at all.

This script is RC, Release Candidate. To my knowledge it does not have a complete uninstaller and there seem to be complaints about SQL errors here and there (somewhat unsubstantiated I agree).

Do you think that he should install this on a site with 600k users? If you say yes, then by all means release this as Gold. I know a bunch of people are waiting for it.
