yea, seems like what it does is just remove the coloum setting but instead displays the sub forums in a line.. so I think there should be a few additions or changes..

1. Being to have an option to totally remove the sub-forum list for any given forum.

2. To rename the current option from "Leave alone" the name doesn't really suit the setting.. should be "remove column settings from these forums:"

Yes, this would be the perfect Mod if this issue was resolved - to be able to 'hide' specific sub forums would be the cherry on the iceing.

Does anyone know a way around this by any chance?

Valter 01-07-2008 10:19 PM

To hide sub-forum go to it's options page and set "Forum is Active" to "No".

(Will not appear if set to no, but remains accessible if the forum's URL is known)

leginag 01-10-2008 11:38 AM

Is it possible to have two different settings for how many columns it displays?

I want one forum to show the sub-forums in TWO columns, and another forum to show the sub-forums in ONE column.

Scooterpig 01-11-2008 08:51 PM

Cyberbetec - any chance I could get you please to take a look at my forum when ya free as not working for me?

Scooterpig 01-18-2008 05:59 AM

Anyone???

Harley D 01-21-2008 01:17 PM

Is it possible to prevent this mod from working on certain themes?

I have several to choose from and a few members would like the classic layout of the Forums and SubForums.

LorinPotter 01-22-2008 10:13 PM

This seems an excellent addition to vBulletin. Loaded and installed perfectly. However, I cannot seem to get it to make more than one column, regardless of which values I change in this add-on or in the forum display set "Depth of Sub-Forums" to "1" in vBulletin Options > Forum Listings Display Options.

After checking through all the 38 pages on this thread, I've seen several suggestions, but none that seem to work.

I'm new to php and vBulletin and this is the first plug-in that I've tried, so that may also be a problem, although the directions were quite good.

I found the problem with mine. The "Forum Description under "File Manager" was too long. Deleting any forum description allowed this excellent patch to work as described and I really do like how the forum now looks. Thanks Harley D (another biker I assume) for taking the time to answer and of course to Cyb for writing this for no charge.

In order for it to work for me I had to set the Depth of Forums - Forum Home to 1
in the Forum Listings Display Options.

What I would like to do is be able to disable it only for certain Skins/Themes.
Does anybody have any idea on how I might do this?

Julio46 01-23-2008 08:47 AM

Hi,

I have a problem since one week, i have a word Cybernetec everywhere on my forum.

Valter 01-23-2008 07:49 PM

Julio46, upgrade to v2.4.

alla n1015 01-23-2008 08:54 PM

well first I thought it didnt work, now it does seem to work but on the Forum Home only if I go one level down , forumdisplay.php, it doesnt seem to do anything. Is that correct or is it me?

vbob 01-24-2008 11:43 AM

Perfect...!!! Thanks a lot..!!! :-)

alla n1015 01-24-2008 11:56 PM

Just curious if someone can validate that this doesnt work on the forumdisplay, next level down from the Home page

Scooterpig 01-25-2008 04:24 AM

Well seen I can't get to any help from cyb, it's now gone.

pipin 01-26-2008 01:50 PM

Hi,

i just upgraded to 2.4 from 2.1 and managed to do almost all things i got from the old version.

Disabling the old option "Enlarge sub-forum titles font?" let the subforum names which are handled by the hack display with the style smallfont.

How can i reach this with the version 2.4? The names are always displayed in bigger letters.

redlabour 01-29-2008 04:50 PM

Does this work with 3.7 Releases?

Valter 01-29-2008 05:50 PM

I believe it works but haven't tested it.

All of my hacks will be updated for vB 3.7 once it comes gold.

Bree 01-31-2008 06:30 PM

I got it installed on 3.7 Beta 3 and it's working perfect =0) Thought I would "say" that out loud hehe =0) Thanks again, I love this hack!!! -Bree

StRiKeR035 02-03-2008 06:42 PM

abrecher 02-12-2008 07:38 PM

I have it working great on 3.6.8. One issue I have though is that for the life of me I can't get the "Leave alone sub-forums in these forums (comma separated ID list)" option to work.

Any suggestions ???

nanaimobar 02-15-2008 07:08 PM

I've deleted all text in Forum Descriptions, set "Depth of Sub-Forums" to "1", set correct options in AdminCP > vBulletin Options > Cyb - Sub-Forum Manager, under vBulletin Options >Cyb - Forumhome Sub-Forums Manager I listed all forum ID's I want excluded and rechecked everything several times but still have sub-forums displayed as they were without this mod.

I've tried setting "Number of columns to arrange sub-forums into" to every option but nothing changed. Setting is 2 now but I don't have 2 columns.

I've re-installed the product using overwrite. Done that twice.

I'd really like to use this mod so if anyone has suggestions please reply. To see what I mean by "no change" just visit my site and you'll see all my puzzle sub-forums still listed in a straight row under the Heading "Download free puzzle magazines in PDF format from lists below."

MaTraX 02-16-2008 10:01 AM

works on 3.7 - thank you :)

The problem mention in Quote still exists. Does anyone know if locking forums - as mine are - interferes with this mod working properly?

:D Problem solved. Had to set "Depth of Forums - Forum Home", "Depth of Forums - Forum Display", and "Depth of Sub-Forums" to 1, not just "Depth of Sub-Forums" as install instructions said.

Site looks much better. Thanks for the mod.

Bradley_Wint 02-20-2008 12:35 AM

first of all, excellent hack...the problem i have though is each of my categories and respective forums under each cat are separated. all the columns were even in size until i installed this mod. Is there anyway I can use this mod and keep the column sized (i.e. post count, thread count columns) of equal size to each other?

thanks

ProAzn 02-25-2008 04:42 PM

Ok, dumb question since you guys are all developers, webmasters... How the hell does one use this??

I have it installed, switched columns to 2 and nothing happens. Do you create the sub-forums after you install? If not how do you make existing subforums to work in this mod? I have subforums that exists already. What do I do to make the columns appear? I want 2 columns of subforums under a main forum.

Anyone? Keep in mind Im not a webmaster or developer, coder.

mAnimal85 02-27-2008 07:02 PM

How to do break line after sub-forums: like here: http://www.photopost.com/forum/

Please, someone help me

glenvw 02-27-2008 11:44 PM

I have upgraded to your new version.

For the most part it is working on my site:

http://www.warmislands.com/tropical_...rums/index.php

As you can see though I need to change some settings.

I have looked for:
To set hack options go to: AdminCP > vBulletin Options > Cyb - Sub-Forum

However it is not showing up at all in the list of options.

Can you help me?

Pamela 02-29-2008 04:41 AM

Will a fresh install of this for 3.7.0 (Beta 5) work...or does this need to be rewritten for 3.7?

Thanks! :)

insidedesign 02-29-2008 04:58 PM

Has anyone had issues with this MOD when upgrading to vB 3.7?

we are having the same problem.... we don't see a change either from when we enable and disable the modification as well as changing many settings, etc. Any suggestions? This would be a great mod for us since we have a LOT of forums. (also we are running 3.6.8)

sunnylikbeckham 03-08-2008 04:16 AM

thanks buddy

The360Place 03-08-2008 05:13 PM

Ok, I know I did everything right, but the sub forums are showing up in the forum index. What shall I do?
