Why be PISSED OFF at someone who wants to BUY his hack?
I don't think he knows what doing business really is.

Very simple: because TRUST broke down, and he doesn't really need/want another person buying it only to then turn around and post it somewhere for others to get for free.

Many of you must have missed the point: He didn't start this as a business entrprise. He responded to demand. But it required considerable energy for him to pull together his work aggregated over a year's time; and he clearly stated he didn't feel it a win-win scenario if he simply did all that work and posted it for free. It is a far more complex hack with a richer feature-set than almost any hack found on vB. But, because there was demand, he suggested people contact him via email and they could transact privately. He got enough inquires to make it worth his while, he then packaged it together into a releasable hack, with instructions, etc, priced it fairly and reasonably, and transacted.

Someone ripped him off. He rightfully so got pissed. And he doesn't need the business.

Maybe you need a business lesson, no?

And by the way, the hack was again posted in the releases forum.
I'm posting this only now, since I didn't want too many to know about it (deleted now).

I have bought all my software, and I want to pay him for the code that is his hack. In fact, I have a Support Desk code that I have contributed to this community for anyone who asks (only one so far), but this is better than commercial software (WonderDesk, Dapper, etc, etc with FAQ and Surveys built in).

I like it, I contacted him, and I want to pay him, even suggesting via Paypal o MC. Still no reply.

No it is not good that people spread these things but please grow up and see how it is.

There isn't a person in this world that doesn't get ripped off at least once a day. Think about that.

A pity, I only wish to improve my site, and I wish to pay and enhance the board's features. I have looked at overgrow.com and the karma hack is real cool.

My other alternative is to use the star hack, but it just denotes the number of posts with more/different stars. It's more or less a visual interpretation of the Titles.

give credit where credit is due...many of the fine features we now have on standard issued vb's, are his doing.

I would also like to comment on the accusations presented here as well against synx. He was honest enought to tell overgrow about his situation with that girl and the proposed code, so why would he go giving it away as a cheat or liar. did you ever stop and think, that the person that the hack was installed for (the girl) gave it away, thus including snyx's licence info....I mean, it was his copy...

i have worked pretty closely with snyx, and i have had nothing to worry about with his honesty or integrety. He has always asked if he could use any of my hacks, ideas, templates...etc...and has never give any of them out to anybody else....this is coming also from a person who in the past, offered me total access to his server, while our boards were down. That is pretty trusting dont you think>? Pretty nice of the guy i might add, considering i could of shut down any facet of his freinds sites, his site, and made life a living hell for him if i were that type of person.
Point being, he is a trusting person, and honest. if he wasnt honest with you overgrow, he would of never told you about the situation with that girl.
