This hack don't work together with vbAdvanced for me.
I have created a custom page in vba to display a right column on the pages I select, but when I add the necesary code in vbgooglemaphse.php PHP Code:
Line : 980 Char: 3 Error: GMap is undefined Code: 0 No error is displayed in FF except the dashboard table don't show up right. I can list Elements and other pages but not the map. |
I'm running vB 3.6.4 and hadn't noticed there was a 3.6 version of Hotspot edition when I installed the 3.5 version this week.
It works perfectly but I want to know what are the actual differences between the 3.5 and 3.6 version of this 1.0.4 release? Especially considering the 3.5 version I currently have installed works perfect with vB 3.6.4 |
This is a great mod, many thanks to the author.
I installed it successfully on my 3.6.4 version, but I have problems inserting markers with greek characters. I use Googlemaps for my job as well, and have made quite a few applications with it. The only thing that's needed for other languages with weird character (like Greek) to work, is to declare the encoding in the XML file. For example Greek is ISO-8859-7 . Problem is, everytime a user inserts a marker in the map, the XML file is automatically re-generated (I suppose), and the encoding value returns to ISO-8859-1. Is there any way around this? Has anyone else had a similar characters encoding problem? I believe that the problem lies not only in changing this value in the markers XML file, but also in some way when the module is "inserting" a marker's info in the XML, it does so through ISO-8859-1. Can anyone elaborate on this? Again, thanks for a great mod. |
Stoney.
I am not really versed on this, so I was wondering if you ever do installs of this mod for people on their vbulletins? I am running 3.6.4. I was wondering if this threads mod is the same one as I see here Anyway, I was wondering if you ever install this mod for users who would make a paypal donation of whatever you want to call it. Thanks! |
installed thanx

Finster, it's very easy to install this mod if you follow the clear instructions included.
And personally I don't think it is the same mod as the one you are linking too. Although obviously both use the Google Maps API. |
Hello Amiga,
That's easy for you to say! lol Most people here were breastfed on PHP formula or something. I can barely find my way around adding a new menu link in the navbar after staring at vbulletins forum instructions for hours! |
This hack is kinda played out and very outdated in my opinion. Its lacking lots of features like the zip code definition and the ability to move the hotspots to either side top or bottom, nothing had been done to this hack in months maybe over a year.

Ok, so what is better then?
I actually want to be able to control what members might post as a hot spot or pin or whatever you want to call it. So lets say a particular business in the world caters to a particular type of traveler on my board. I approach the particular business, and for a fee, they pay for us to put a destination pin on the Google map. If any user can do the same thing, they can override our ability to charge a fee for the service we offer to the particular business to be listed on the map. |
Hello all !
Great mod, thank you very much ! For my first mod installed, that's great... but I have a problem to integrate it in vbadvanced portal. Just the same problem below : Quote:
Thank you very much if you can help me. Olivier |
