bouncer18 10-06-2002 08:52 PM

not showing my avatar on main page when i post

TECK 10-06-2002 08:55 PM

i'm sure you forgot to set the full url, instead on the standard one, like the way it adds vBulletin.
always use: http://mysite/forum/images/avatars/pic.gif

instead of: images/avatars/pic.gif

is the same story like smilies, images, etc.

bouncer18 10-06-2002 08:56 PM

hmm ok

where was i suppose to put the url of my avatar?

i didnt see an option to do so.

I thought it automatically used my custom avatar.. ahh hell, i guess i fooked something else up again

Avatars > Add
no. it does not.. that's why you have to set it as default.
i didnt included the custom avatars because i wanted to save a JOIN table and reduce the stress on the server.

also since the default group of avatars is being seen only by admins and journalists, there is no way that other members can use yours.

follow the instructions on your readme file. add your avatar through admin cp panel the way you do it normally.

i also did it this way for security. let's see a journalist get pissed and he uploads a big finger, or porn as his default image. it will show on the main page. that will not happen, since only you can upload journalist avatars to your site. is well thought all.

hmm this steo isnt in the readme..

maybe it should be added?
