This was it. I never thought about the permissions.

1 down 1 more to go, now if you could also solve the problem with the admin not being able to view private entries.

It's not a bug, it's a feature - and as it is this there is no problem.

Private entries should be private for everybody except those explicitly allowed.

TOTALLY agree... .. We use ours to support our mental health forum and somethings are just not meant to be seen by people. This was a great privacy control and we LOVE it... ;)

Andreas, any way of having a "x New Journal Entries" link in the forumhome template, much like the "New Posts" link that we already have? I'm not quite sure how to code that.

Sometimes it's hard to direct members to the Journal section of the site.

Thanks.

thanks for the clarafication. I asked this because previously it used to be a feature thats Admins had absolute rights to view any journal. Which was a useful feature for a site like mine. As we have had some issue's with journals where some moderation was needed, involving some inappropriate material posted in the journals.
In a few incidents people were keeping a whole archive of threads and posts which were removed but they had made copy and posted that in the journals. And then someone else made a screenshot of that material and posted that in the forums.

I think journals privacy is not that same, as PM and email privacy.

One should have the right to see what others are posting in the journals on their site. It's not like Admis go round checking every private journals.

I have another problem, now I think this is a bug and not a feature.

When someone tries to comment on a private entry in journals, they get this error message. Eventhough the person is in the journal buddylist.

problem, if you do a search for members, it shows the link to the journal but its messed up and it dont put a thing at the top so it throws them all off..

Any future on allowing attachments in the journals?

Thanks!
