Crazy Serb 03-16-2006 08:28 PM

is there any way to hide the URL ONLY in a text being posted (using the SHOWTOGROUPS tag) while having the text visible?

the only place I think this can be changed is in the xml product:

Code:

<if condition="$hidetag['canview']">
  $text
<else />
  $vbphrase[hidetag_accessdenied]
</if>

but now I am not so sure it's possible to split the URL tags from the rest of the text and have them hidden... any suggestions?

akanevsky 03-16-2006 10:26 PM

No, you cannot do that unless you only wrap the URL with the tag...

Desihunk 03-17-2006 01:09 AM

Are you planning to have an updated version with "reply" feature as free?

akanevsky 03-17-2006 01:11 AM

Why would I do that? Of course not.

1aleem 03-17-2006 07:36 PM

I added some just hacks and updated vbulletin to 3.5.4 and now this hacks causing a fatal error message everytime I click on thread. Anyone else getting this?

1aleem 03-20-2006 06:13 PM

Bump.

akanevsky 03-20-2006 10:58 PM

Please provide specifically the message of the fatal error and the version of the hack that you are using. And please do not bump your posts more often than once in a couple of days.

The Notorious 03-22-2006 05:37 PM

This works on 3.5.4 yet?

kauka 03-22-2006 09:13 PM

There is a separate version of the extended hack for 3.5.x family, just like there is a separate version of the limited hack.

Be my guest.
In case you want professional services, you might consider using a pre-made software instead.

akanevsky 03-25-2006 04:00 PM

In this thread, obviously. This hack has a Limited Edition and an Expanded Edition. First one is free, second one is not. The features that are only available in the Expanded Edition have an appropriate note next to them.

Stone Cold 3:16 03-25-2006 06:02 PM

I have no idea what you mean :p

akanevsky 03-25-2006 06:06 PM

Do you have an idea of what YOU are asking about to begin with?

Raven Michaels 03-27-2006 08:05 AM

Um...you realize ALL a guest would have to do is go look at the archives, then at the posts and they could see whats hidden?

No. The tags are parsed in the archive just as well as they are everywhere else. If they are not, report it here as a bug.

Raven Michaels 03-28-2006 12:57 AM

Anyone can see the hidden text if they go into the archives...

Ive looked as a guest...

vi3tpride 03-28-2006 06:16 PM

I installed the expanded version, everything seems working fine except:
1) 2 hide-reply tags in the same post, only the first one revealed to those who reply.
2) another user post a reply with hide-reply tag, it wouldn't reveal to others who post reply.

It seems that only the first hide-reply tag is working.

vBulletin 3.5.4

therocks 03-29-2006 07:49 PM

If using the hide-thanks module.. is it an option for admins to have to click thank you to see the hidden text?? or do they see it automatically without clicking thanks??

Administrators see hidden content unconditionally.

The visual part was redesigned. If you want blue color back, edit the templates.

stinger2 03-29-2006 09:51 PM

the hack is working in some way with 3.5.4
but not fully...... ......any news when will you update it?
