Thanks for this useful plugin :)

FLMom 03-13-2006 08:33 PM

Just installed, can't wait to check it out :)

FLMom 03-13-2006 10:07 PM

installed with no problems, but I just can't get it to work?

Ohiosweetheart 03-14-2006 12:04 AM

it won't work until someone registers, then it goes out to them automatically. Don't forget to edit it to say what you want it to

brvheart 03-14-2006 09:23 PM

having a slight issue....if I make it so that users emails have to be confirmed, then then PM does not go out, the way I read this...it should as long as the email confirmation group is allowed to use the PM system....any help on this? I am using 1.0.4 if that matters.

Injektilo 03-16-2006 02:17 AM

anyone can help? Andreas?

Andreas 03-16-2006 11:00 PM

@ForYou
Rest assured that it does.

@ravenes
The PM will be sent after the user has activated the account.

@Injektilo
Read entry #4 of the FAQ, especially the last question

i did. I installed the hack 5 times, all things are correct but still i get this error :confused:

Andreas 03-16-2006 11:54 PM

Step 1
Read FAQ entry #4 (especially question # 4) again and do the necessary things

Step 2
If you still get the same error, redo step 1

Right I understand that is how it should work, but it is not happening on my board. Should I try re-installing and over writing the .xml file?

Andreas 03-17-2006 01:24 PM

Reinstalling won't help.
Make sure your settings (userid) are correct. If it still does not work, feel free to change ERRTYPE_SILENT to ERRTYPE_STANDARD to see errors that might occur.
Also note that if you are moderating members, the PM will be sent after a new member has been accepted.

brvheart 03-17-2006 01:49 PM

I am not moderating new members, just checking the email addys and require the activation, could it have a conflict with the automatic welcome thread hack?

brvheart 03-17-2006 01:59 PM

also, if I turn off email confirmation, it works just fine.

Andreas 03-17-2006 02:08 PM

It could, but it shouldn't. I suggest to disable all other products except Automatic Welcome PM and test again.

CSS59 03-19-2006 03:01 AM

Andreas 03-19-2006 12:10 PM

HTML would work if HTML is allowed for PMs

brvheart 03-20-2006 12:07 PM

well...that did not work either....I am going to try to reinstall and overwrite :(

Nathan2006 03-22-2006 01:41 AM

Install

LeonHartHVA 03-22-2006 09:15 AM

i do not use email confirm but it still not work
plz check again
Thank

aus_dave 03-22-2006 11:24 PM

Great hack - not sure why I waited so long to install it ;).

Apologies if this has been addressed before - I have searched the thread and couldn't find anything about it.

I have modified one of the plugin files in my install to show the signature in the PM. Add this code to your choice of plugin file (there are 3 plugin files, as explained here):

PHP Code:

$pmdm->set('showsignature'1);

Hope this helps someone. If this option could be added to the Admin CP it would be great :cool:.

Hmm ... what do you expect me to check if it works fine for me and approx. 900 other users?
As previously suggested, change ERRTYPE_SILENT to ERRTYPE_STANDARD to see any errors that might occur.

LeonHartHVA 03-23-2006 06:56 AM

Now i know my mistake, forget run rebuild all plugins at hacks : Plugin Accelerator (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=107315) :)
So you can add FAQ about that ;)

Andreas 03-23-2006 12:40 PM

D0h! I won't add this to the FAQ as I would have to add it to all Hacks ...
Trigunflame really needs to make this fool-proof, eg. rebuild automatically when Plugins are modified.

LeonHartHVA 03-23-2006 01:18 PM

From when I add that hack, I think new hacks conflict with old hacks but cannot find reason. So it's important for who forgot run rebuild all plugins like me :)

Jordan17 03-23-2006 01:55 PM

I have a slight quirk with this excellent hack.

I have just had someone make a thread which was full of swear words, I deleted it but I can't warn them because "the post doesn't exist".

Is there a non-post related way of warning them? For example, if you had a chat feature installed and you wanted to warn them about something that happened there, you wouldn't be able to use it but might still want to warn them.
