Just making sure
Anyone that has UCash/Arcade already installed. Did you have any problems getting VBookie to work properly as I want to install this afternoon. Thanks. |

Seems like something is reversed on those two settings.. at least on my board. :squareeyed: Anyway, hope this helps someone. |

Ive had two problems with this so far, and Im not sure if it the script or down to user error. I've been using vBookie (1.04) for about 2 months and its been excellent. However on two occasions, all bets have been sttled incorrectly, and noone had admitted up to it. Now I'm not sure if there is someone settling the bets incorrectly, or whether the script is playing up now and again.. Has anyone else experienced this?
|
Thank you.
But like a fecking idiot I've stuffed it by settling on the wrong outcome on an event. How do I edit it? :nervous: |

Would it be possible to add a modification to this so that when the bet has been settled, a private message is sent out to the winners or the losers telling them what bet they won/lost and how much they have won/lost?

OK I just had this happen on my first ever test of this after installing it on my board. A few questions.. 1) Can anyone settle the bets?? I see no setting asking who can settle the bets.. I'm assuming that anyone on the board can settle the bet and that somebody on my board settled the bet and settled it wrong? 2) Is there anyway to find out who settled the bet? |
Ok I found out it was a mod that settled.. must be default that mods can settle bets.. ?
How can I make it so that only the admin can settle bets? |
I'm getting this error after having completed all the file edits:
Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_CONSTANT_ENCAPSED_STRING in d:\server\easyphp\www\vbulletin\includes\functions .php on line 1887 Fatal error: Call to undefined function: is_browser() in d:\server\easyphp\www\vbulletin\global.php on line 59 I can't for the life of me find where the error i tho as those errors have nothing to do with any of the dits I'd done. I've gone thru all the edits to make sure I didn't drop a ")" or ";" whilst copying over the code and everything looks fine. I'm really stumped. Anyone any ideas? The Wolverine :D |
I've narrowed it down to this in the instructions:
Code:
OPEN includes/functions.php Still can't figure out why that statement is causing so much havoc though. Any ideas? The Wolverine :D |
Can someone tell me where in the files for this hack is the following condition variable set?
Code:
<if condition="$showsettlebutton"> |
Here's a suggestion:
Make it possible to 'add a vBookie event to this thread', as we can currently do with polls, after a thread has been created. :) |
I've sorted my issue out now and it works like a charm :) I have one question though. I want to make use of vCash to hand out cash so I thought I'd program a lil addon in the admin cp. All I'm going to want the addon to do is submit a form with userid and payment and basically add that to what the user currently has in the db. The querying is simple enough, I'm just not sure about creating the form in keeping with the way the form is created for the main vBookie options in the admin cp. So what I mean is I'm unsure as to how the functions print_cp_header, print_form_header, print_table_header etc. work. Anyhow able to explain briefly how the submission of the form works and how the form is constructed with those functions in vbookie_admin.php?
Thanks The Wolverine :D |
Obviously support for this hack is gone..
I worked out my problem to there is a line in vbookie.php that gives moderators permission to settle bets.. I just deleted that line. |

I was hoping to modify the vbookie thus: Give each user 100 cyber sheckles to bet on EACH event, and keep a running total of their wins/losses. It would allow me to run a footy prediction competition. Anyone able to help on how to achieve this? |
The author of this hack hasn't been on in over 2 months..
|
That´s a very nice Hack. My Users will love this feature!
Is there a way to put "The newest bets" on the vBindex? |
is there anyway to make it so that i have to authorise events before their posted?
|
Hi, yes I unticked the "Support" box because most of my time is currently engaged with other projects.
sabret00the, there's no way of doing that at the moment. It would be quite a simple addition, I'm sure. Basically, just an addition to the event status values (SETTLED, CLOSED etc.) of "PENDING", and altering showthread.php to hide events with a status of PENDING unless the person viewing it was the event's Owner or a forum Administrator. It'd also need a simple way of setting the event's status to "OPEN", which could be hacked into the vbookie.php page. |
Hi,
I really like to install this great hack, does it works with vB 3.0.3?! Regards, Tobias |
Yes it works! I have vb 3.0.3 too!
|
Can a coder tell me what I would need to edit to make it so admin can see private bets?
|
Me too vb 3.03
Does anyone know how to limit the max amount bet? I recently had to reset the entire system after a few folks got over a billion. Mostly our fault with the odds but I would like to limit every bet to just 100. thanks and great hack, -Jason |

I have a forum dedicated to vbookie and when you look at the forum and see all the posts with the vbookie sign in it, it doesn't tell you if the betting is closed or if it is still open (still taking bets). Is there a way to change the vbookie blue dollar sign to green when thy are still taking bets and to red when the betting is closed. This will instantly let the members know if betting it closed or open. Thanks in advance |
Install went smooth, appreciate the hack!
I went through the phrases, and changed all "vbookie" phrases to "sportsbook" for our site. When you post an event, the thread still indicates "vbookie" inthe second column of the thread post. Where is that located in the coding, i would like to be consistent with my verbiage. Thanks! |
Does this work with 3.03? :squareeyed:
|
|
Ok thanks :nervous:
|
works great with 3.0.3.
