How can I fix this???

same for u, give me your webaddress and I will try to help.

oztrack 03-27-2005 08:49 PM

Its www.futuresprinting.com

gspot 03-27-2005 09:20 PM

oztrack - You need to type in the full path to your forums root directory in your admincp area under the referral statistics configuration. The full path is like example:
/home/www.gspotracing.com/public_html/fourms/ including the backslash at the end. If you dont know what your full path is, try using just a backslash and seeing if the error goes away. This will be fixed in the next release. Many people do not know their full path and we are faced with this issue. Let me know, others say that the backslash alone fixes that error.

oztrack 03-28-2005 12:05 AM

"try using just a backslash"

This worked!!

Thanks

If you will wait for me one week, I will release the new version and that should fix your issue... It seems to me that the database fields never got updated in your sql. :( I havent had anyone with this issue besides u. Please wait.. :)

gspot 04-17-2005 07:31 PM

OK everyone - the new release is ready for download version 2.3 just released today. Please download and let me know what you think. All errors should be fixed now, but if anyone finds any errors, please post them a.s.a.p and I will do my best to resolve them. Please enjoy, and post any comments or suggestions that you all may have.
:)

gspot 04-17-2005 09:51 PM

If you had any issues doing the upgrade...

I have fixed the installer as of 3:51 PST on April 17, 2005.

venomx 04-17-2005 10:07 PM

I dont think I had any problems.. What was wrong?

gspot 04-17-2005 10:30 PM

on the referrals.php page did it change the version from 2.2 to version 2.3 all over the page where needed to? I didnt see it updating it correctly, did it work on yours? It also didnt seem to be over-writting the old templates being used with the new templates.

Try to re-install, if it asks you to un-install do it, then run the full install... That will fix everything. Let me know, nothing will get lost or removed....

venomx 04-17-2005 10:49 PM

Now I got a new error.
http://www.discussionjunction.com/forums/referrals.php
Only me and another admin have refered people and we are both on different pages.

venomx 04-17-2005 10:50 PM

NM fixed by changing that in the admin :)

gspot 04-17-2005 10:57 PM

venomx - what do u think about this new release?

venomx 04-17-2005 11:15 PM

Looks good :)

There are many code fixes in it as well as many options for the admins to control what they want their members to see and not see. Such as:

1) Another pagination menu at the bottom of the results
2) total number of referrals since joined
3) And a few more options.

I highly suggest upgrading to this new version, it will enhance your referral statistics to their optimal performance. Its a release that has been needed for sometime now. If you guys have any other suggestions or options that should be added, please suggest them now for the next release in the future.. :)

Hey does this reset the user's actual referral count shown in their profile if you start a new promotion? Or is there a seperate field?

Also, how hard would it be to add conditionals to the referral number? I want it to only show referrals if they have X posts.

Thanks!

Not sure about the first part but the second one is in there. you can set it to only show the refs when the refs hit X posts.

007 04-18-2005 01:04 AM

Cool. I'm just confused when he says

"Admin ability to reset all referrals to zero (for referral competitions, etc..)"

That's good, but I want to know if the real number is still displayed in profiles and such. I am working on a mod for uShop that pays you $ when your referrals post, and I would hate for people to lose their referrals. :)

Otherwise I will install this ASAP. Will be very nice to have!

It will reset users referral total forum-wide. So no it wouldnt be available once you reset the referrals, but if you don't need to reset them, then don't. :)

venomx 04-18-2005 04:21 AM

I thought it kept Total since joining and total since rest?

Whats the problem that you are having? It should..

venomx 04-18-2005 04:57 AM

No I have no problems.. :P
You told him it lost the ref when reset...

If it keeps the count then I am guessing it loses the names of the people you refered?
Is that VB wide or just this hack?

007 04-18-2005 05:33 AM

But you wrote it lol! Hmm, I can't use it if it resets vb wide :( :( :(

Jason McConnell 04-19-2005 09:06 AM

Good idea for a hack, and the install instructions seem simple enough, but I get this error:

Quote:

Database error in vBulletin 3.0.7:

Make sure you started with a new installation and not an upgrade. Run the install again even if it asks you to perform an uninstall. Then let me know what you get.

OK I went back thru, uninstalled and reinstalled, and now it works fine... just as long as I'm using my site's default style. Any other style loaded and I get a blank referrals.php page.

BradM 04-20-2005 04:35 PM

I am getting a DB crash on my forum. http://www.tgpelite.com/board/referrals.php
It worked fine, then randomly it crashed?

BradM 04-20-2005 04:40 PM

I get this error:

Database error in vBulletin 3.0.3:

Invalid SQL: SELECT COUNT(distinct referrerid) AS ttl FROM user
WHERE referrerid > 0 AND usergroupid NOT IN id:6
mysql error: You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'id:6' at line 2

mysql error number: 1064

I apologise if I am an idiot. LOL

on the referral statistics configuration in the admincp you dont type in (id:6) it would be just the (6) that will fix your problem. :)

I can try to help you - can you post an image of whay your mysql table for referrals looks like? If not, then I need to gain access somehow or someway in order to see this structure.

artonex 04-28-2005 02:10 PM

just installed this over at my forums :)

womensden 04-28-2005 03:51 PM

I'm having a problem.

My referral page isn't showing most of my images. My background is missing, as well as other things. It seems anything that was in there without the entire link isn't showing properly. Even the links aren't going to the correct places.

You are having this problem do to adding your own personal images not correctly in the navigation bar. Have you installed any other hacks? Also when you add your own images into the navbar make sure you type in their absolute paths example: http://www.test.com/header.gif

No one else has ever had this issue so I believe this is the reason and the problem that you are having. :)

womensden 04-28-2005 08:06 PM

so where can I edit those image paths?

Also, the links are screwed up. What would that have to do with the way my images are ?
