is it possible to add a feature to this so when someone deletes a post and gives a warning for it that it doesn't actually delete it, but hide it. That way when an admin looks through the logs they can see the actual post that the offense was for but it stlil be deleted(hidden from the thread). This will help against mods abusing the feature and saying someone they don't like posted something they didn't but evidence is gone because post was deleted.

:P too bad for me, I'll wait until we have an update on this ;)
|
I was wanting to set something like this up and I just stumbled upon it while looking for another hack.
~clicks install~ great hack! ^.^ |
Working fine on 2.3.0 for me... :)
I've even made it start a new thread in my staff forum... ;) |
Wow i must say this ist the greatest Hack i ever had see.
Very nice Work. A Tipp. In your next Install.txt give a hint that you must update the vbulletin Options. After that everething works fine. Greetz TribunM |
yeh thats what it was Tribun, i was updating vbulletin options which made it all of the sudden start working.
|
The Hack works but i´ve a question.
What is this Warning Order next to Warning Level ? I dont Uderstand that function. GReetz Tribun |
The order that you want the warnings listed out when you warn a member. (I think).
|

How many orders exists ? 3, right . Geforce could give a little legend for that i think. Or Anyone other ideas the orders good for ? Greetz Tribun |

If you read the rest of the thread, you'd see you need to skip that instruction.
|
Sorry, 25 pages is a bit long to read through so I took a shortcut.

Also, there is a "Search Thread" function. Use it and show some initiative. :) You can find posts in a thread easily. |
You win, oh great one.
|
Seriosly.
Someone answer this. Why, doesn't it show up anywhere where I can Warn a user? Someone said: You missed a big chunk out of the instructions... well, the v2.1 file surely doesn't include anything where it talks about editi templates such as "profile". etc... need help |
Okay ..
Well, apparently, from what I (and that's not much) can figure out. This command doesn't do shiet! $post[warnlink] it's supposed to popup next to "IP: Logged".. but won't.. because it's just not working as it should. I'm trying to backtrace it down to the hard scripting.. no success. |
I noticed with a few people's signatures that used like drop down boxes or forgot the html code that it screwed up that warn user link and it wouldn't appear. Maybe that's the reason why for you...
|
Just did a fresh install. Made One post by myself.
No luck. Still same problems. Anyone? |
Alright peeps! I figured it out!
FOR ALL THAT HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AS I POSTED ABOVE! You need to go to the "vBulletin Options" page and go down to the bottom of that page where you'll find "Warning System" options. Change some off them, or not.. and click Submit. Seems like the values are not put into the database "correctly" during install. You're welcome. |

man, there are some ungreatful people here. Just dissing you all the time..
j/k It seems it need to be mentioned twice anyways.. I missed it.. maybe the moderator should delete everything that is not needed to be known... |
Exelent hack. Works flawlessly on 2.3.0, and I had no problems installing it.
Might need some "minor" adjustments but that depends how you want it to look on your forums. Again a totally exelent hack. Clicks *install* |
All seems to be running ok so far on 2.3.0..
I haven't tested warning a user so far, but I haven't had any errors as of yet. I love the idea of this hack, good stuff :) [high]* Oblivion Knight clicks install.[/high] |
I downloaded this and it didn't come with a warnconfig.php
It has: warn_extra.php warn_upgrade2.php install_warning.php warn.php warn_upgrade.php admin_warning.php installation_txt.php No warnconfig.php |

ok. i just went through this entire thread. i'd successfully installed this hack some time ago, but hadn't noticed a snag... N9ne brought it up on page 15, but i don't see an answer anywhere.
the warning level # doesn't appear in the user's profile but does in the postbit. any thoughts what would cause that? thank you. |
Installed on 2.3.0 , great hack! Clicks install:)
I did get the level number to appear in user profile, probably not the right way to do it, but it does work. In the warn_seelink template I added $userinfo[warninglvl] so it looks like this: <smallfont><b>Warning Level:</b> $post[warninglvl] $userinfo[warninglvl] </smallfont><br> |
Hello g-force2k2 ...great hack, I think! hehe
Please clear something for me: Since it is a new install for me I ran install_warning.php, all worked fine. Now I go and read installation_txt.php to continue installation. After creating user group, what follows is: Notice :: Open warnconfig.php and configure this according to your forum! I'd like to know where warnconfig.php is located???? It certainly ISN't in my forum folder? Please some help :bunny: thanks!! |
laycomp there is no warnconfig.php
i didn't edit instructions since version 2.0 when i made the changes to v2.1 so instead of the warnconfig.php the options to configure are actually in the admin vbulletin options... I am seriously going to update this hack... :dead: regards, g-force2k2 |

In the meantime, what do I do after I run install_warning.php? Do I disregard ALL instructions from installation_txt.php file? :ermm: |
Responding to my own post:
I have installed this in vb 2.30 and seems to be working fine. Great hack. If you get past install_warning.php, move over to next step, and that's following the instructions in installation_txt.php. Ok, here, when you get to this instruction: Notice :: Open warnconfig.php and configure this according to your forum! If you find that you do NOT have warnconfig.php, skip this step and continue to step: File Modification (6) // ++++++++++++++++++++ Hope this clears the issue with the missing warnconfig.php file. JUST SKIP IT and continue down the file following the other instructions! |
This hack is just what I need.
Did the install on 2.3.0 and got this error Code:
Thanks |
2 Problems running on vB 2.3.0:
forum/warn.php gives me a blank page $post[warnlink] in the postbit (the warning link) doesn't show up. I read here that others are having this same problem; has there been a fix yet? If so, then could someone kindly point me to the post for the fix? Thanks! :) |
Answer to myself :D
There was already a settingsgroup 40 so I changed it to another number and it worked. Last problem is the $post[warnlink] Cheers |
I'm currently having a couple of problems when viewing a member's profile..
1.) Why hasn't the colour of the Warnings "sections" taken on the alternate colour? Instead there are 2 coloured sections which are the same colour that have been put together. 2.) I'm pretty sure a number is supposed to be displayed after "Warning Level: " like there is on a topic, but there currently there isn't.. Is this something I have done wrong or a bug that has yet to be fixed? Many thanks, Oblivion Knight [edit] Problem 2 solved. Thankyou to ap0c for your solution. |
Hi. I am on VB 2.2.9 and just installed the hack. However, i noticed that Warn_Config.php wasnt in my hack folder, so now i get a MySQL DB error when in the admin panel and click on any warn buttons. HELP!
|
Also, for example, the Postbit screen that Gforce showed is no where seen on my board (www.xoxideforums.com). Please help ASAP, we really like this hack
|
