I want the default zoom and global orientation to be as the image below shows. What are the steps (in detail) to accomplish this?

voglermc 08-24-2012 12:26 AM

I'd like to see a small stats area below the map. Like how many on the map, etc

All you need to do is to set the lat/lon to where you would like the central location to be within the admincp options for the modification. The same applies for the zoom level you would like.

Thats actually not a bad idea and will bare this in mind for the next version. It will almost certainly make it onto there :)

CoZmicShReddeR 08-26-2012 04:52 PM

Could this mod be used to just automatically pull where the logged in user last visited the website from and maybe show un-logged users as visitors?

It could using ip geocoding, however I coded this for exactly the opposite so not likely to be something I will be adding. Doing so would mean not everyone can run it, and the purpose of this is that everyone can.

Hi!

Great mod. If my forum is online, i will mark this installed...

Is there an easy way to make Location-Settings from other member appear in the new "activity stream"?

e.g.

"user xxx has placed his PIN in the membermap"

or

"user xxx has changed his location in the membermap"

something like this...

Sonic, I need urgent custom profile fields under the username.
Is it possible to implement it, similar the custom profile fields in the popstbit?

glen290 08-29-2012 02:17 PM

Tried reinstalling this on my test board again today, still getting to map to show...

What version are you on? vbulletin version

addamroy 09-07-2012 10:16 AM

I'd like to see an option, where users can add some misc information when they tag themselves on the map.

Like maybe email address, phone number, real name, etc.

Several members of my forum have mentioned they'd like to be able to see who is located in certain areas, and a quick way to contact them or view more information about the user.

The membermap is a good start, as far as the locations of members, but being able to append misc additional information here would be really awesome!

What do you think?

Also, will this mod work on vb 4.1.12?

There is no support for 4.1.x at this time

Additional information will be able to be added via custom profile fields once I get around to adding it in.

glen290 09-08-2012 04:59 PM

Im on version 4.2.0

Yes, can you give me instructions please? :-)

And the correct code please, to open a new window.

Thx!

When I go to the Settings it doesn't show the selection box to add usergroups like in the picture in the product description above?

That's my problem, though - I don't HAVE usergroup permissions because it's not showing the selection box. Upon further investigation it appears that anyone in the default "Registered Users" "Moderators" or "Administrators" groups can access the map OK, but anyone who has a custom group as their primary group is unable to access.

meissenation 09-16-2012 12:17 AM

Oye, sorry - I forgot to click installed. I clicked installed now can I get any help?

It appears this mod is no longer supported - and the current package attached to the thread is broken... :(

voglermc 09-21-2012 11:03 AM

I just downloaded it. Something is wrong with your pc meissenation. The author is busy

meissenation 09-21-2012 11:16 AM

Downloaded the package twice and tried installing twice while setting to overwrite settings... Not sure what would cause it to not show those two textboxes.

Ramsesx 09-22-2012 10:52 AM

Seems to work fine on 4.20, thanks for this easy and nice map.

Hey is there a way to make the map taller?

Ramsesx 09-23-2012 05:25 PM

Just for your information, maybe it helps somebody, if vbulletin-glossary is installed the markers from members are not shown.

MrMatthewAllen 09-24-2012 05:40 PM

Been using this map for a while, it's been working flawlessly. Much appreciated for all your work. I certainly hope we see this member map added into vBulletin 5 at some point in the near future. Thanks again!

I had this same problem, and it's because I was running vBulletin 4.1 I upgraded to 4.2 and it corrected the problem.

Budabing 09-25-2012 11:20 PM

Installed and working beautifully on vB4.2 I love it! Will definately nominate for MOTM!

Am I able to also use this map on my website homepage?

BadgerDog 09-26-2012 09:10 AM

Any ETA on a version for vBulletin 4.1 platforms?

Thanks .. :)

Doug

Something is changed on the Google maps side.
Map is displayed fine now, but it's not interactive anymore: you can't zoom in, scroll through the map,....

EDIT: seems to be a google chrome problem. Seems the problem is known. Confirmed working in other browsers.

Yes you can by changing the css file. Find the dcMembermap.css template and locate .mapcontainer and #map. Both have a height property you can change (make sure both heights are the same). If you have trouble locating it, just ask :)

I doubt we'll do any 4.1 release. We just made this membermap for our own forum (which runs 4.2) and decided to release it to the public for free. We are both occupied with other things currently.

Even with Chrome I have no troubles with the map on our own site. Are you sure there are no other (vbulletin and/or chrome) plugins interfering with the map?

The hack shows a check mark for re-usable code.
