Fantastic mod.

However, is it possible to make it where clicking the avatar in the left threadbit isn't just a null link? Currently it "appears" to be a link on mouseover, but clicking it does nothing.

It doesn't change any links... any link that is there is from vBulletin itself... I think vBulletin 4 changes the cursor to a pointer when you hover over it and then shows a message about how many messages you have in the thread when you hover over the icon. Not anything we added or changed.

Having this problem where the drop down disappears immediately when hovering over that category options. It's almost impossible to get the mouse cursor in the right spot to get this working right. How can this be fixed?

Also, the category listing is extremely compressed (line height too tight), which template / code would I edit to modify this?

Edit: third issue, noticed that clicking the mood icon does nothing from the drop down.

Appreciate the response, but something definitely changed the default behavior of those icons. When they were the default envelope images, they didn't turn into the "this is an a href link -> hand" when mousing over them. Now they do. Not a huge deal, but if I knew how to fix it, I would.

Sorry, no idea what any of that stuff is... it's really just designed to work on stock-ish templates.

What is your website? I'll take a look, but I'm pretty certain it's from vBulletin itself when you can do an AJAX action on the icon (for example a mod/admin can double click the icon to lock it).

I downloaded this for 4.2.1 but the overlay i.e. the last post avatar doesn't show. All I get is the default avatar... Thanks..

The shadows are for "Hot Threads" it has tobe enabled in Settings.

I use this for last posters, for me it seems to work better.

What are the settings for "posts" and "views" because the Shadow doesnt appear until it reaches those settings in posts counts & views counts.

Hot threads are on.... It was the first thing I tried, it's something to do with my CSS.

Guests also have no avatar, see image.

problems only with guests without Avatar. Registered users with no avatar, no problem.

I was receiving complaints from forum members, saying their mini avatar wasn't displaying when they had posted in a thread, they were just seeing the default avatar. It took me a while to figure the problem... you only see the mini avatar if you tick the 'remember me' box when you log in. If you don't tick it, you only see the default avatar.

Is this an issue with the mod or is it a permissions thing?

It is possible that its a CSS issue, but my question was what are the settings for "Posts" and "Threads" If you have Posts per Thread set at 50 the Shadow wont appear until it reaches that point and if you have the "Threads" setting at 300 views the Shadow wont appear until then, but it is an either/or setting, either 50 Posts or 300 Threads will activate the Shadow.

I tried using this but the avatars were appearing on left hand side. So ichanged my css to align it to right. But when i try to upload new avatar it again appeared on left side and thus distorting the UI. What modification I need to do so that every time newly added avatar should be aligned to right.

That's normal, avatars are supposed to be on the left. If you have a non-standard style, this probably isn't going to work for you.

How do I remove the Greyed Out? Cause the icons look so faded..

also what is the blue border around the icon? what does it mean

The border is used to highlight a hot thread, it can be disabled in admin>options or the color of the border can be changed in the stylevar.
The grayed avatar i have noticed it but it didnt bother me enough to look into it but i think the Hot Thread color has some bearing on how faded it looks, try disabling and take a peek.

What was compiled there, if uninstall this modification of course problem will persist...so to revert templates or...please advise

As "KGI_Bling " was saying in post 379 here... I also have same problem, if user don't tick "remember me" upon logging in he will see only no_avatar/default avatar icon same as he dont have avatar on forums

It's normal for the compiling messages... it will recompile the proper templates when you uninstall.

At some point there will be a non-attribution option available, but it's not available yet.

You mean that I just leave it as it is, or to uninstall than again install your modification ?

Not planing to uninstall your mod for good as I am sure my users will love it, on other hand I guess that these parts of forum do not affect that much on server resources?

If I uninstall, than after that install again your modification...will this resolve issue [if it is] with "Compiling Templates", than upon second installation this "Compiling Templates" will not be there any more? That was question, will re installation help?

Pardon for my knowledge, regarding coding and VB is not on a lvl that maybe should be...only I never saw that any modification did something like this before, did install and uninstall at least 100 of them

The compiling templates will happen every time you install it. It's intentional.

This is a decent mod. My main complaint with Digital Point is they don't seem to update or maintain their plug-ins very well.

When you do as many things as Digital Point it's hard to keep on top of everything you've ever done.

You realise there is a more current version on his own page?

It's better to write it right to begin with so it doesn't need updates or maintenance. :)

That being said, what exactly are you trying to do that it doesn't do for you already or what is broken with it for you?

I'm sorry that somehow I missed this message. The Digital Point Thread Avatars broke when I upgraded the forum to 4.2.2 which required a change to the plugin. That was the only issue I had.

Ok so it required some changes to get this to work on 4.2.2. It just broke again when i updated to 4.2.3 except worse. The mod needs substantial revision to work on 4.2.3. I guess maybe it will need to be rewritten

Note: I had the most current version installed which was 1.0.5.

I have installed in 4.2.3 and it works. Just if its possible Shown to add some gravatar option in it.
