@ Ideal Web Tech: i see that even on the demo site your chat is not working with IE (8), exactly like on my vb site.. (basically it shos only the bottom row of everything.. menu tabs.. chatbox...) so there is any hope you will fix it for IE?

thank you

Yes the IE bugs will be fixed as soon as we have time to actually sit down and spend some time ripping through the thousands of lines of javascript and get it isolated down to what seems to be creating the issue in IE8.

We are aware of the bugs and will be resuming normal bug fixing status soon now that we are done moving our offices. We are also looking at some more advanced methods to fix some of the more in depth minor bugs that have been around for a bit.

Also just a note for now please avoid this mod if using iis7 as your webserver as we have identified an issue with iis7 that prevents it from operating normally. We will release more information on iis7 when we have it available.

Also I feel we must stress that this mod was designed for dedicated server as we have been seeing a lot of people on shared hosting trying it and complaining about the performance when that was never really the target audience.

We are looking into building a hosted version of the chat to start offering as well but it may be a while before we have that put together as their is quite a bit of work required to restructure the code to function as needed.

Please be patient as we work on everything as the advanced code in this modification makes most the current bugs somewhat in depth to isolate and fix.

Also anybody who is having issues with the script is encouraged to open a support ticket to get the best possible support, as quite a few of the issues being complained about are issues related to other addons/server issues, and its not feasible to try and offer one on one support in a public thread since typically we will need login information to take a look around and isolate the issue.

Ty for all.

I have disabled the FRIEND function in my forum. Is it possible to use this chat modification without it?

regd87 02-13-2012 08:31 PM

I am pretty much a noob, But how do I actually "install" this? Like, where do I put the actual files into which folders? I'm sorry the the stupidity...

Hippy 02-13-2012 08:51 PM

files ulooad to your root dir and then go to your admincp..

down on the left youll see products.. open it up and at the bottom youll see Plugins & Products then manage plugins..at the bottom youll see [Add/Import Product] . there you add the xml file... browse your pc for the xml that cam with the mod... then click import...

* this mod cause sevier server load for some people.. so I would read this thread before install...

whne of if it don't work go back to your manage plugins then manage products.. find the mod and to the left youll see a drop box .. choose uninstall ..
be sure to remove ALL files upload for this mod...
alll the best
Hippy

regd87 02-14-2012 12:32 AM

regd87 02-29-2012 02:53 AM

regd87 03-01-2012 05:58 PM

any help is appreciated..

Heardy 03-19-2012 07:59 PM

Mine doesn't open the Settings or Chat Room and just gives an error on the page :(

slammz 03-28-2012 10:58 PM

This isn't showing up on my page and I have configured everything for it.

regd87 04-05-2012 12:55 AM

Is there anyway instead of just having friends show up on the online list to make everyone that is online show up?

pesclub 04-09-2012 05:08 PM

Code:

Warning: require([path]/iwt/shared/includes/license_api.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in [path]/includes/adminfunctions_plugin.php(931) : eval()'d code on line 1
Fatal error: require(): Failed opening required '/home/pesclube/domains/pesclub.eu/public_html/iwt/shared/includes/license_api.php' (include_path='.:/usr/local/php5/lib/php') in /home/pesclube/domains/pesclub.eu/public_html/includes/adminfunctions_plugin.php(931) : eval()'d code on line 1

:(Why

DFish 04-13-2012 09:40 PM

Love it, so do my members apparently. ;)

Uninstalled reason it was the culprit generating frequent 500 errors. Not sure if this is because of my host, conflicting mods or this mod itself. But either way it was a nice chatbar!

Ideal Web Tech 04-16-2012 06:33 PM

Anybody having issues please report as much details as you can on our site so we can continue to weed out random server problems. Logs during error periods are extremely helpful.

We have been reviewing the code and testing it on many different configurations to work to weed out all errors we can, but we really need detailed log information to help us out, since all servers are not configured the same.

Please remember this is a very advanced system in terms of how it works and the code behind it, so changes and fixes have to be carefully evaluated before they can be pushed into the production version of the script.

Also this modification is designed more for dedicated servers, while having said that it can work on VPS, and small shared hosting sites, but its not guaranteed to run on them.

We are also working on IIS issues with the script since IIS stops sending reply data when the stream is open, as it see it as an active request and waits for it to be finished before handling the next request (page load). If anybody has things working on IIS please share with us the changes that you made to IIS to help us get things fixed faster.

Also for faster response and to help us track things better please report stuff over on our site so we can respond faster, as well as organize and prioritize the bugs and data given.

I have the same problem what is going on?

blind-eddie 05-07-2012 03:55 PM

Try this one instead. Comet Chat
I have it on my 3.8 test site (link below)

Link I posted above shows it to work with 4.0 as well. To me, it was well worth the money.

Nerror 05-11-2012 09:21 AM

I'll be happy to buy the pro version, but I do need to know you're going to be on top of fixes as the vbulletin versions get updated. The Lite version here doesn't work on my vBulletin 4.1.12 test site.

I like the features and how access to the chat is set by usergroup, which is exactly what I need, but it has to work obviously :)

Datenpapst 05-16-2012 03:53 PM

well just seems like there is a lack of support...

nooners 05-18-2012 01:44 PM

Using vB 4.1.11. Enabled this mod and also set usergroup permissions. Friends Online showed up, listed no users, even though I know for sure there are users online. Slowed down my site and also prevented the vBshout shout box contents from displaying. Also, when you click "Settings" for this, does nothing and throws errors when you refresh the page. Disabling this plugin.

Most every facebook style chat I've used has overloaded the server.. It's really not worth the headache.

luccss 05-25-2012 12:52 AM

Dont works for me ...

Bernd Glasstett 06-03-2012 11:19 PM

Comet Chat is awesome! It works great and is very cheap. Has some nice features too that are useful apart from the chat. I won't be renewing my hosted chat next year with 123flashchat. Thanks for the heads up on Comet Chat!

My members love comet chat. You can surf on the forum and chat at the same time. Also the IM works great.

Winter Sonata 07-16-2012 10:28 AM

Hi

THis is great but killed my server so It's my problem, Can you guide me how to uninstall it?

I always get an error when trying :

Warning: require([path]/iwt/shared/includes/license_api.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in [path]/admincp/plugin.php(1559) : eval()'d code on line 1

Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/home/l....../public_html/vb/iwt/shared/includes/license_api.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/l......../public_html/vb/admincp/plugin.php(1559) : eval()'d code on line 1

And btw, I have no folder called 'iwt' inside the vb folder

Lucas Zgoda 07-18-2012 01:52 PM

Having problems with my Exaltic skin, does great on showthread.php / forumdisplay.php or other page. But it ruined out when on forum.php . Idk why.

hatetank 07-31-2012 08:47 PM

Why are there no links anywhere to the - [IWT] Shared Libraries?

If I try and load the XML file under includes/xml as a new product it states invalid file specified.

What did I miss in this 4 line install doc?

udomueller 08-07-2012 07:25 AM

Its not working on my 4.2.0 installation. No css is included and if i manually add the css to headinclude the bottom_bar is not showing up.

What is to be done to use it on 4.2.0?

The user group is allowed to use the chat and the user has the group as a secodary group.

Thank you for the heads up and I'm looking into it for our 4.1.3pl5 vBulletin site...

Have you tried the video conferencing mode?

Regards,
Doug

Sorry, I have not tried it yet. Its used just for chatting. I would be afraid to over load server with video conferencing.

The video conferencing is peer-to-peer, so there is no server loading from the vBulletin server ...

I think I'll give it a try and let you know how it goes...

Thanks again ... :)

Doug
