David,

I am having a horrible problem with importing from Downloads II. I have around 21K files in downloads II, but when I run the importer it actually creates more than 247K files!!

I have attached some screenshots to show you the numbers. I have also verified on the console that the directory does indeed have 247K files.

Thanks,

-Jason

EDIT: Nvm, deinstalled it, was a bit too buggy..

supamodz 12-06-2012 03:04 AM

I installed your mod and I have 2 problems the first one is the download button is not showing up its set up in the navigation settings tab.

Second up if I access the page directly I get an error message saying I don't have access to this page and I'm logged in as the administrator

Deleted reinstall and over written all files back to my server and same problem

You have to edit all the settings first...

supamodz 12-06-2012 11:01 PM

In the ACP left pane there is a section called Manage Modules. Check the permissions set in there.

I hava a same problem (before about 300 after more than 800)

In addition, the research takes only the title or the author, and not within the search parameters the DESCRIPTION file, which can be much more useful for filtering files (especially when there are many)
In this case it is much more usual DOWNLOADS II

It would also be very pleased to be able to include the tags to the files

Jeromedia603 01-26-2013 02:08 AM

In the supplied files, you have an UPLOAD folder, then an XML folder. I am confused on where the XML folder goes. I have version 4.2 which should only require the vb4 XML file I am assuming. Do I upload that as a product as well?

Thank you for your time and support!

Mr_Running 01-26-2013 03:07 AM

Upload folder goes on the server via FTP
then
XML goes vBulletin Admin --> Plugins & Products --> Manage Products --> Add/Import Product

Thank you for your help. I am learning and took a guess, it was correct!! Woo hoo! Now only if I can learn how to define the path to the downloads.

Any help with that?

We have a dedicated so the path is

home/servername/downloads

Then I see:
Error:
You did not enter a valid value for this setting.

I am a novice, please advise

Jeromedia603 01-26-2013 03:16 AM

I just got this while uploading

HTML Code:

Fatal error:
The encoded file /home/clanskin/public_html/clangfx/includes/functions_wysiwyg.php is not permissioned for 184.154.178.194 in Unknown on line 0

Jeromedia603 01-28-2013 03:40 PM

Any chance of getting some help on this issue. Thanks in advance!

Please post on our forums for priority support, vBulletin.org does not offer us proper tools and notifications to quickly resolve issues.

It's also a bit rude to complain / bump for free support for a free mod ;)

Fillip

I appreciate the response for the other answers. As far as suggesting is it a "bit rude" to complain/bump the thread for "free" support for a "free" mod, that is very disrespectful. I am downloading this "free" mod to test it out and make sure it works properly so that when I decide to use the "paid" version I don't have any issues. If I am correct that is your ultimate goal by offering this "free" mod, to obtain me as a "paid" client. I didn't know your "free" mods come with limited support. I'll keep that in mind for any future related issues that may arise with your free mods.

P.S. I don't view your mods as free, I view them as trails so that I may determine if I should purchase the mod. Again, thank you for your time in this matter.

wolfman069 02-16-2013 06:28 AM

well no offence this mod work ok but has way too many bugs with it admins and mods can use the features of this addon but normal users cant use it at all and work at setting everything to fix it but the features are too buggy as well i was gonna pay for it but if you can work on free version why should i pay for the pro edition.

vBDownloads v2 is expected to reach Beta status soon - . Unfortunately I cannot provide extended support for v1.3 for the very reasons you state.

Hopefully v2 will work better for you :)

  • Fix: (Pro) Entering a download's password should no longer rarely send the user into a never-ending redirect loop
  • Fix: (Pro) Refreshing the page while the user is waiting for the download delay no longer restarts the countdown unless they refresh again.

Upload
  • Feature: A new, shiny uploader based on BlueImp's jQuery File Uploader has replaced the old uploader.
This uploader has advanced features such as measuring network speed, ETAs and of course, progress bars.
Fully AJAX'd and powered by jQuery UI, this uploader also lets you manage your existing files, deleting them with a single click.
You are also able to abort a currently in-progress upload without reloading the whole page.
Any existing themes made for jQuery UI will also work to style this uploader - more themes will be selectable in the future.
  • Change: The "Category", "Mirrors", "Private Users" (Pro) and "Password Protection (Pro) input areas now use the same UI style for consistency

Importing From DownloadsII (Step 3)
vBulletin Message

A required field called categoryid is missing or has an invalid value.

next screen right after importing from DII

JLake 02-28-2013 12:30 AM

got it, we had some private downloads for Admins only.
Your import script was raising the error because the category we put them in was non-existant

DragonByte Tech 03-01-2013 07:55 PM

Ahh, thanks for letting us know :D

Future versions will include the ability to switch jQuery UI themes.

You can modify the dbtech_downloads.css template in order to customise the sidebar.

You need to properly configure your categories to allow the extension groups containing the image extensions.

Hello

i have a strange problem. when ever someone tries to download something, download brakes immediately after few bytes.

all files are uploaded fine. i can download them fine if i download them directly using file manager in the cpanel.

any ideas?

thx

DragonByte Tech 03-19-2013 02:35 PM

Please open the resulting file and tell me the contents of it.

Fillip

gec100 03-20-2013 12:23 PM

Hey Fillip.

Not sure what you want. it does not matter what file type it is. rar, zip, pdf. everything uploads normally but would not download. it does not give me any error. just finishes download immediately after start as if it is over.

DragonByte Tech 03-20-2013 01:36 PM

I want you to either attach one of the corrupt files here, or open one of the corrupt files in a text editor such as Notepad and paste the contents here :)

Fillip

gec100 03-20-2013 02:41 PM

i can not upload it cause it is 0 in size. i'll PM username and password for a test user for you to test if that's ok.

gec100 03-21-2013 12:27 PM

any thoughts?

DragonByte Tech 03-22-2013 10:58 PM

Does this mod supports friendly urls for "downloads" files?

gec100 03-25-2013 10:48 AM

tried reinstalling. but did not help. i'll try to uninstall and check for and delete all remaining files. than install again.
