i had that problem but found out was the chat box that was upsetting it as i had set for every page to display changed itt not to display on the media page and every thing is good now

as far as the thumbs go I too have not been able to get them to work. I guess you could always just post them to a thread then edit the thread with a thumb till we can figure it out

OK I see how its coded now: the thumb is pulled from /media/media_video.jpg you could go in and change that by removing that pic and rename the thumb you want shown to (media_video.jpg) then retrieve the information for that video.

You would have to manually create the thumb. but once uploaded to /media/ and renamed the retrieved it would be renamed in the thumbs folder to something like 28.jpg automatically. This would allow you to do this anytime you want to actually have a thumb associated with a local video. be aware that this picl (media_video.jpg) will also be the pic for any local files you upload if you don't change the pic you will have this pic as your thumb.

Jaxel could probably fix this pretty easy once he has time to re-cooperate from his coding binge :>

whats the link you are useing to try and retrieve the video?

show us, and are you downloading them useing a premium account then trying to host them ?

or have you used this embbeded code supplied to make it work in post #3 17 Apr 2010, 15:55

Added : ok i see what your seeing the thumb is there and the player but it wont play, tags all there definitions all there its wierd

Please add this code to product description somewhere to save the hassle of this question being asked 1000 times.

If You run VBSEO on your vb 4.X platform and You want to turn on SEO option here is the htaccess info You got to change.

Really? So the regular expression STANDARD digit character grouping \d does not work in VBSEO? And people wonder why I think they shouldn't be using VBSEO.

There is nothing to fix here... it is working as intended. media_video.jpg is the DEFAULT thumbnail. I have already provided a method for people to upload their own thumbnails.

Thanks for helping on the local file upload. Worked perfectly. Is the "upload a thumbnail" feature working. I can not seem to edit the media. Like another post I read here it just changes back when I save the changes and only the stock thumbnail shows. I looked but could not find a response to this question. But then, like I said, I am a real novice here.

I already have a .htaccess file in the forum root for VBSEO, I have tried adding the info from the .htaccess in this download and adding it to that but when I click on the categories it goes back to the forum homepage with the "Should URLs within the media library be slugged for SEO?" turned on, if I turn it off the categories load fine.

Any idea's please.

It was working fine on my local files then I put in a youtube file and got the following:

Warning: Division by zero in [path]/includes/functions.php on line 2497

Now all files give me this error. Any suggestions?

Any chance of getting tiered permissions?

Ideally, I'd like to have all users see the list of media, some usergroups access media in some categories, and premium members access premium content.

I'd definitely consider paying for a premium version that had this functionality.

The option of having a simple upload video function would be nice also. Pulling youtube etc is nice but lets get a button to host them as well!

Is there something missing or is it just me ? I remember in the old Version for 3.8.x I could also have a BB Code Embed Code so I could put it into a Forumpost when I added a video to the collection.

Now I only have the Direct link where its from, for example Youtube with a Youtube Video, a HTML embed code which I can't use because I for sure don't allow HTML in forumposts and a direct link to the video in the media collection. But not BB embed Code.

Why is that not there anymore ?

I dunno for who that message is, if its about me quoting you i suggest you to go further back, there is no sarcasm here, just many ppl use the config just to set the db and connection info they miss what else can be enabled there.

But for who take a few setting things up will probably set the db as mysqli to take the benefits from it, and with the mod as it is now they will get a error message on header due to the interface used, its simply to let the coder know so it can be fixed.

Tiered Permissions will be back eventually... Next week I plan on working on Favorites and Playlists. Tiered Permissions just don't seem that much of a priority to me.
