Is there a way to list those members who have not accepted the rules?
I am finding many new members who have not accepted the rules, yet they logon every day. |

This is a nice Feature Request though to help deal with spammers. A link to "List all members that have not accepted the rules for x days", along with checkboxes to delete/ban them, and a master checkbox to select/unselect all. |
I have it set to they have to accept forum rules before viewing forum.
I've been watching and so far, they just come and try to access my Downloads system then leave. I'm not sure all of them do this, I imagine some must be bots so having this option to get a list with mass pruning ability would be awesome. |

Okay.. what am i doing wrong here? I can make the rules and it works perfectly too. But whenever someone is forced to view the rules, there is no "Accept" button or any countdown anywhere at all. Even tried it on the default style too.
Edit: I'm running vb 4.1.10 and as you can see in the screenshot. I can see no accept button at all? So basically i just get stuck in the rules page. |

- I've tried it with FF and Chrome. - If a mod was disrupting it, wouldn't this not function at all? Everything works fine but just the accept button refuses to show. Nevertheless i would try it on our testing forum again later with all the mods off but for now I've uninstalled it. |
I have some pre-install questions to which I've not yet found answers. I'm still looking, but please allow me to ask them anyway:
1) Can this add-on be configured to require acceptance of rules and a liability waiver prior to viewing specific categories and sections within the vBulletin 4.X CMS? (NOT interested in the forums, PMs and email functions so much.) For unregistered/guest users as well as those who ARE registered? 2) Can this add-on be configured to require re-acceptance whenever the rules/waiver are CHANGED? 3) Can this add-on be configured to require re-acceptance at an Admin-defined interval such as every 90 days? (Calculated individually, from the date of each user's last acceptance; NOT resetting everyone all at once.) 4) If the answer to any of the above is "no", can these tweaks be hired/commissioned? Thanks. |
Second you could easily do manually. When you change rules, you could reset acceptance from all members. Just a bit more effort on your side when you change rules.
|
Forcing regular members to accept rules all the time is not going to go over well with them. We accidentally forced old users to accept when we installed this mod and at least two left in a huff at our blatant authoritarianism.

In our case it's a liability thing. A few select sections and categories in our CMS are devoted to modifications and maintenance of motorcycle brakes, steering, etc. In order to protect the club's officers, directors and assets, we need an acknowledgement that users have been informed about the risks. "The information here is presented without warranty and without assurance of its fitness for any particular purpose. Use this information at your own risk." <-- that sort of thing. It's not about "rules" in our case. And if they can't spare one lousy click every 90 days or so, then tough. |

I just installed the PlugIn and it appears to have installed correctly. I have the CP for the hack. I'm wondering where you actually create the Rules page that will be used? I'm sure it's right in front of me but I'm not seeing it. I understand it is created in HTML which I can do, just missing where I input it. Maybe send me some sample code or screen shot(?)

"Manage Rules" is linked at the bottom of the Settings page in AdminCP.
|
When I select Manage Rules I get this error.
Warning: array_merge() [function.array-merge]: Argument #1 is not an array in [path]/global.php(365) : eval()'d code on line 4 Fatal error: Class 'vB_Template' not found in /home/npsaraci/public_html/forum/misc.php(97) : eval()'d code on line 142 Ok, now I'm getting the Smilies page when I hit the Manage Rules Also "Rules" is not showing up on the Nav Bar. I saw thread saying I may need to set myself to UserGroup 6. Now I can't seem to find where to do that. Help? I don't see Usergroups associated with numbers, only names such as Administrator, Registered User, etc. |
Having issues with applying different rules to be accepted for certain forums. I setup trading rules for trading forum, but they do not apply and user is not asked to accept them.

FYI the smiley page is what happens when this mod throws an "unknown" error. |

Basically I've got a second set of rules for a Trading/Selling section. I want our members to agree to these rules before posting in that section. However they will not appear. I've assigned the rules to that section, but still no joy. Any help would be much appreciated. |

I love this hack, thank you very much.
A couple of questions. 1. When bringing up the "apply to forum" screen, it doesn't seem to remember which ones I already marked with what rule. So when I make a new rule, I can't see which ones I may of already applied it to :( 2. I also have the problem when there is general rules and area specific rules only the General one comes up, not the secondary one as well. Is this by design or am I doing something wrong? Great mod, perfect for what we are doing.. thanks again for spending time coding this! |
Awesome mod, thank you Valter! This is a really great feature to add to any vB forum.
Is there a way to allow Mods to see "Force User To Accept Forum Rules" in member profiles, so they may also force a member to read a set of rules again? Not just Admin. |
I installed the Mod , and i personally like it ,
but while we are testing it , we come across a little problem . New user who is posting need to agree with the rules and ticking the BOX , but after the agree it go back to the Same page again asking them to AGree with the rules again . and the process go over and over again . looping the user in the agreement cycle . ----------- Would be cool if there user need to Agree every time there Create a Thread . Like DP . I had disable for the time being and i hope a solution can be found soon . |
Nice work ...works fine on VB 4.1.10 :)

Installed in vB 4.1.11
Short question: Even if I have translated the Phrases for all "You first must..." the translation will not show up; shows only the english original text. As well I can not find for example the Phrase-Variable "vsafrules_accept_forum" in the templates; so maybe there are some hardcoded texts? Best regards, Bryan |
Welcome.
I found a bug that causes the large number of different regulations (for different forums), you can not accept the rules. The problem is when they run out of space in the user table, in the vsafrules_sets pool, which has a size of 20 characters. If you change the field size (for example to 40 characters), system allows users to accept the rules. Please note the change in the number of allowed characters for vsafrules_sets of VARCHAR (20) for min vsafrules_sets VARCHAR (40). Regards Thomas |
Hi, I have this installed and working before I updated to 4.1.11 now only adminsitrators can see the rules which kinda defeats the object. Is there some kind of perms setting? I don't see any but appreciate if someone could shine a candle in the dark. cheers.

Thanks for this, it's exactly what I needed. I'd like to add this field to the member list so I can simply scroll through it and see who has and has not accepted the rules. Anyone able to tell me how to do that?

Just upgraded to 4.1.12 and all seems to be working again. Unfortunately any members who registered on 4.1.11 didn't accept the rules and looks like they cannot be reset. In the profiles it just says Forum Rules NOT accepted, with no drop down to force them to accept. Anyone got any ideas how to reset these? I've tried re-importing the xml file. |
thank you
