Been away a long time form this hack and vbulletin in general, but I can see a lot has changed in this, and wish to thank you :)

But a quick couple of questions, I have created a few channels in the admincp, but when I open the chat only one channel opens, is that normal as I have set permission for my usergroup? And how do I open the other channels if not?

Also is there a way to increase the text box you type into to maybe 2 or 3 lines ?

Thanks

The popup box is locked in Internet Explorer but in Firefox you can expand it to the width and heigh of the screen.

Can you fix this for IE so it is not such a tin box locked?

I tested it with IE and did not experience this problem. I'm not sure what might cause that, so i'd have to look into it. It definitely won't be fixed in the next release, sorry.

How do we have the chat open up in a new window when clicking on the IRC Chat link in the navbar?

There is a link on the irc page that is called "Pop-out" if you click that, it'll open up in a new window. Though I believe you've foudn this already.

Not sure, mibbit is not my script and my support for it is limited. I do not believe you can.

Double check the permissions for those channels, that should not be happening. (the not joining thing) Make sure there are no whitespaces at the end of the channel names you typed in (my fault for not using trim() on those fields)
To join another channel, you simply could just /join #channelname but that defeats the purpose of autojoin.
As far as textbox size goes, no I don't have any idea, sorry.

Any News on the Pjirc Thing? Anyone got the old *.zip?

At the moment i?m really disappointed...

If you are not ok with IBs Lawsuit against XF, thats totaly fine by me... but removing the files from this mod instead of just declaring it as "non supported" is just childish.
It seems, that the community means nothing to you. :(

I?m uninstalling this as soon as possible...

marinelife 10-06-2010 11:06 AM

This is nice, make us suffer because of what the big guys are doing, THANKS ALOT!!!!
So what other chat mod is there?

der_darkon 10-06-2010 02:56 PM

The irony is, that these people are talking about how IB hurts the community...

Since they left out PJirc and switched to Mibbit-only, without getting it right you can use a plain and simple mibbit-widget.

marinelife 10-06-2010 06:00 PM

I purchased Flash chat and am now using its mod, while not has nice yet! it works!

This is truly just beyond stupid....

IB have a bad rep yes but has anyone actually considered for one moment that IB may have a valid case?! Nooooo It's just easy to jump on the bandwagon without giving it any thought what so ever.

PS: I have a vB and xF license but like any adult who has lived a bit I'm sitting on the fence until one party has been proven to be at fault in a court of law.

PPS: Who is going to trust add-on makers who do STUPID stuff like this in the future? What happens when Xenforo get an offer they can not resist and bought out again? People won't install your stuff because they will be worrying you'll spit the dummy again and move to another product.

Think further than your own nose people!

If you want the files for this modification, they are no longer provided officially on this website.
You are more than welcome to find the modification on vbfans.com though. I will not be developing for vBulletin beyond this point, and EzIRC has officially dropped vBulletin support.

I've looked into it before I made the decision, btw, zelnik. That's YOUR opinion of what I did.
My opinion on the other hand, I do not believe they have a valid case. I do not believe it'll even make it through the UK courts. Plain and simple... it's the motion they took to try to keep their customers that bothers me, and how they decided to present it.

Also, if Internet Brands' Bob Brisco (or whomever it was that filed the case) weren't so tight with his cash, and wanting more, I would've responded differently.
The community matters to me, but vBulletin does not. I've left my mods available on Floris' wetalknetwork because of the fact I knew people might still want this product. Dropping support on the official modification site is the only action I'll be taking, besides stopping development (except for security flaws and maybe other updates).

EzIRC support for vB will no longer be provided on this website.
Not to be an ass about it, but I couldn't stand vBulletin either way. Just didn't have a better solution.

You can get EzIRC for vBulletin support on the official website: http://www.ezirc.org

I will be rebuilding the pJIRC support, once the XenForo version of ezirc is out. pJIRC will be disabled as a default.
I may also add in a flash-based IRC client, lightIRC. lightIRC does not have ads, and it would most likely be specific to vbirc, unless we implement a check to the remote network checking for the flash policy daemon that needs to be enabled...
