Considering that half the fixes posted in this thread were from him, not likely.

To some of your points:

- Polls are indeed broken if you are logged in using the facebook gateway and the script is set to post new threads to your profile. The code does not lie and, without modification, it does not check to see if you are posting a poll, rather it just sends you back to the newthread script.

I posted a fix for this earlier in the thread.

- The login issue seems flaky but I do see it on my home network. At my work it does not happen and I am not sure why that is yet.

- The table you are speaking of is hard coded into one of the plugins. Check the "Modify Navbar Template" plugin. The phrase is hard coded into there, as is the code to build the table.

I followed the readme to the letter and everything turned out fine...

Hey there - you need to publish your feed templates otherwise the feeds won't be posted to your members walls. Go to your ADMINCP > VBNEXUS CONFIG IN VBOPTIONS > Click on the CLICK HERE link in the bottom option called "Facebook Wall Feed Template Configuration"; you need to just click SAVE there to link your templates. Otherwise I've logged into your forum just fine. Thanks for trying out the product.

ExplosiveGFX 09-19-2009 06:46 PM

Done, thanks :)

drsli 09-19-2009 08:35 PM

Is there any hint possible for fixing my avatar-issue? Avatars are not showing up after the install of this mod and I´m using the default style - unfortunately I had to uninstall the mod because of this outcome. Perhaps an interaction with another addon, but I was totally clueless about this issue. I´m using the template modification system too.

The "wall feed" option gives me a blank page in the admincp. And I installed this correctly (entered all the ID's) but no new login navbar is being shown at all on the main page. Any help? :)

Veer 09-20-2009 06:01 PM

Uninstalled, because no support, no bug fixes, no updates.

ExplosiveGFX 09-20-2009 10:47 PM

Ok, I dont want it to post to my wall anymore, how do I UNLINK accounts?

Calash 09-21-2009 11:21 AM

You can go to the front page of your UserCP and disable it from posting to your wall for your account.

Unlinking an account depends on how you linked it to begin with. If the account was there before you can just delete the entry in the nonvbuser table and login normally with your old password. If the account was made by the bridge you will need to input a valid email and change your password with the lost password recovery forum. Once you have a valid password you can remove the entry in the database and you will be all set.

Skyrider 09-21-2009 02:17 PM

Hope someone can help me with my issue? :)

Check your application page on facebook (The same link you clicked to create the application). Make sure all the settings are right and that you have generated Templates correctly.

Also check your install. A blank page is something I have never seen before.

thank you, and on another note... i definitely appreciate what he was doing here in this post and others, providing support and fixes but that is also his own choosing to do that no one asked him and he was not obligated. ive requested support or made critiques to other mods only to be attacked in the thread by community members who were offering their own unofficial support to the mod itself and somehow became attached to it as if they were it's developer. people in the thread themselves start to think that they are the developer just based off of how much support they are giving. so, that was his decision even though i do appreciate it i don't believe he is warranted any authority over the mod just because he was supplying fixes.

LilPimp 09-21-2009 08:03 PM

thank you man great hack.. took me awhile to install it.. i put for the callback url on facebook application all of them i put my forum name is that ok. because i didnt know which callback url you were talking about there was like 5 different call back urls, so i put it for all of them

kall 09-21-2009 09:30 PM

I have to say, aside from a bit of a conflict with vBACMPS (my Googlemap ME throws an init_start error for everyone, and cookies cannot be sent for guests), I have had no problems with this mod.

It could be a very powerful way to grow Forum membership/interaction. Thanks to the coder. :)

BUG REPORT:

Using this product on Internet Explorer 6 gives you an error.

Quote:

"Internet explorer cannot open the internet site xxxxx.com

Operation Aborded"
When I disable this plugin, all works fine. This plugin is not a good idea to use for IE6 users.

Calash 09-22-2009 11:23 AM

While it has not been integrated into the actual product the IE6 fix was posted earlier in this thread by the developer.

Really hoping for a product update soon to address some of the fixes.

I run IE6 at work and have had no problems, but it has been documented and there is a fix out there.

If we can get some updates rolled out to us it will be a great mod as it is the only current one that also offers Google Friend Connect.

I am attaching a new product file that includes the following fixes.

- Template bundle ID's for 32bit servers. Changes value type of bundle entries to Numeric
- Javascript fix to allow Google Connect to work outside of forum directory, such vb Advanced.
- Default usergroup when joining fix.
- Various other path errors fixed. Mostly for point #2
- Fix for posting polls while connected via Facebook. Will not try to submit to Facebook when it is a new poll

I have never made a product before so this may or may not work correctly. Use at your own risk and all that fun stuff.

Wayne Luke 09-23-2009 02:53 PM

Thanks Calash. Will try out your fixes. Through community development of this re-usable code we can make it a strong feature.

1. BUG at Installation:

at Facebook Wall Feed Template Configuration if i try to edit and save "newreply feed" and "newalbum feed".

2. BUG after Installation:

There is no navbar Icon shown up after proceeding the whole Installationprocess.

Feature Request:

1. IM Card for Facebook at Postbit and Userprofile (like Skype, Yahoo, AIM, MSN)

Let me know if there is anything wrong with it. Like I said it is my first attempt to put together a product so there may be mistakes.

I think I found a fix for some of the staying logged in problems. The specific behavior I am seeing is that, from some networks, after authenticating via Facebook you close the browser for some time. Upon returning to the site you find that you are logged in fine until you click a link or refresh. At that point you lose authentication and have to login in a second time.

I edited one of the plugins to remove what appeared to be a near random logout() call when Facebook is not sure that your cookie is valid. I believe this check was to disconnect you from the forum should you logout of Facebook, however it seemed to cause more harm than good. Removing this has eliminated the auto-logout problems for me. Manual logout still works fine.

I still want to test it for a day or so before throwing it up.

1 - Ether try the product file I posted above or search the thread for the template bundle ID fix. I think that will clear up the problem.

2 - I looked at the site in your sig and could not see any of the vBNexus code in it. If you are missing some of the hooks and/or have a heavily modified theme this may be part of your problem.

Ohiosweetheart 09-23-2009 04:23 PM

You're a good person, Calash!

cherylferraro 09-23-2009 05:06 PM

Thank you Calash!

Calash 09-23-2009 05:21 PM

The fix I am currently testing, if anybody wants to give it a try by hand

Plugin: Is user a facebook user?

Locate the following lines
Code:

elseif(!$vbulletin->vbnexus->userinfo['associated']){
require_once(DIR . '/includes/functions_login.php');
process_logout();

Comment them out, so they look like the following

Code:

//elseif(!$vbulletin->vbnexus->userinfo['associated']){
//require_once(DIR . '/includes/functions_login.php');
//process_logout();

hi can anyone tell me what might cause a white/blank page after trying to log in w/ facebook connect - IE goes to internal server error, FF goes white, safari goes white?

http://www.nickdip.com/forum/

(I tried the debug mode trick and followed all of the directions) not sure if this has come up

mikeB 09-24-2009 02:00 AM

I am not seeing any of the vB Nexus code on your page. Did you disable the plugin?

A blank page may be due to forum path settings in the Facebook application. Check there first and make sure everything is setup right.

Attached is the new product file with the following fixes

- Logout issue after clicking on a link is resolved. If you still have issues check your cookie settings as I found this can cause some odd issues, especially if you run more than 1 forum on the web host.
- Login buttons are now in a template and eval to the navbar_buttons_right hook. This looks good on my site but may not be the best place for them. Paths are relative using the $vboptions[bburl] variable so this should work well for people who run external scripts, such as CMPS. Using the template hook seems a bit more stable than the previous system.

Use at your own risk. This is not an official update but an export of what is currently running on my website. Please let me know if you see any problems or have any suggestions as to how I can improve. I am still very new at vB products.

Hi Im having a problem with the facebook connect side of it. When I try to use it, the window it pops up is directed to
HTML Code:

http://youoriginal.com/vb/vbnexus/facebook/xd_receiver.htm?fb_login&fname=_opener&guid=0.42088404297828674&session=%7B%22session_key%22%3A%223.X8XEhFYBK42HkA9Z5OC96Q__.86400.1253923200-1372989372%22%2C%22uid%22%3A%221372989372%22%2C%22expires%22%3A1253923200%2C%22secret%22%3A%22kAYnWoxMZeExJB_M7MQyfw__%22%2C%22base_domain%22%3A%22youoriginal.com%22%2C%22sig%22%3A%2253406980a9f8e5003d4381a47219aac1%22%7D
. I have VB CMPS installed to root with VB installed in the forum directory. (along with VBnexus). If running CMPS should i install VBnexus to the root folder or forum? Any help with this would be much appreciated.

Hi Im having a problem with the facebook connect side of it. I have VB CMPS installed to root with VB installed in the forum directory, (along with VBnexus). So vbnexus and forum is at http://youoriginal.com/forum . If running CMPS should i install VBnexus to the root folder or forum? Is there a better way (i.e) change all instances of
Code:

$vboptions[bburl]
to
Code:

$vboptions[bburl]/forum/
in the product file? Any help with this would be much appreciated.

Calash 09-24-2009 11:08 PM

You can try the product file I posted. It already has the bburl fixes for CMPS in it, along with a few other updates that help on my site.

If you want to fix it by hand the main area you will have to edit is the .js plugin. Add the bburl variable there and it will get you close to working.

thefarg 09-24-2009 11:22 PM

Sorry to be a pain, I have solved that problem. Any way to disable the buttons hooking on the navbar?. I have a custom style and would prefer to put the buttons elsewhere.

Calash 09-24-2009 11:34 PM

If you are using the file I posted, just disable the Add Login to Navbar plugin. That will kill the navbar hook.

If you do that the buttons will not show up unless you put the code into your template by hand.

thefarg 09-25-2009 06:14 AM

I also noticed that the facebook connect popup window is too small for the fb connect dialogue. Any fix to this?

Calash 09-25-2009 11:34 AM

That may be a browser issue. I am seeing in when testing with Google Chrome. Going to have to dig into the code a bit to see where it is being set.

I changed the login button to write the template to a variable. You will then be able to drop this variable in your template where you want it to show. Once I figure out how to wrap it in a variable so you can pick I will upload a new product file.

Megatr0n 09-25-2009 12:06 PM

Calash, does your latest product file containing all the fixes for the bugs reported so far in this thread?

Calash 09-25-2009 12:24 PM

The one I posted has the following

- Template bundle ID's for 32bit servers. Changes value type of bundle entries to Numeric
- Javascript fix to allow Google Connect to work outside of forum directory, such vb Advanced.
- Default usergroup when joining fix.
- Various other path errors fixed. Mostly for point #2
- Fix for posting polls while connected via Facebook. Will not try to submit to Facebook when it is a new poll
- Logout after clicking a link or refreshing the page fixed.
- Login buttons now generated via Template, curently using navbar hook. This fixes the buttons not showing up in some external locations (ie: CMPS)

The one I am working on right now has a variable for the login buttons and the option to pick the template hook or the variable. This is not posted yet, but I will probably get to it this afternoon.

I am also looking at the control panel setup to see if it can be improved. I would prefer the settings on their own page. As I noted above I am still learning so this may take a while for me to figure out.

Megatr0n 09-25-2009 12:46 PM

OK, so that cover all the bugs reported in this thread or only the ones you could fix?

Calash 09-25-2009 12:49 PM

It covers all the ones I needed to make this work on my site :)

It is the ones I could fine. I am still waiting to see if anybody runs into different issues so I can see about addressing them.

Calash 09-25-2009 01:39 PM

1 Attachment(s)
- Fixed bug in one of the file paths (I hardcoded it...my bad)
- Added option to use navbar hook or put a variable in your template for the login buttons.
