....as far as the question marks, those are there in place of the actual length of time that the videos play for. Since you had the others in your video directory already, it didn't pull the info yet. So, you have to go back into each video and edit them (or delete those and reupload them) as you go.

Believe me , I followed the instructions to a T. The problem is not the categories, but actually showing the previously-uploaded videos, without having to re-create so many.

NOTES:
You may lose your category dataman when you upgrade. If no categories are listed after an upgrade, you will be required to rebuild your category dataman. Its very easy to rebuild it if you need to. Simply go into ACP->Videos -> Manage categories, select ANY category and hit [Edit], then click [Save]. Your category dataman will automatically be rebuilt.

I don't seem to have any issues with this and I've done an upgrade from Surviver's "base" mod and a fresh install of this "remixed" mod. Both versions have worked with small problems that have been addressed in this thread.

Works on a 3.7.3, a 3.7.4 and a 3.8 forum. :up:

You didnt follow the UPGRADE INSTRUCTIONS where it says to Re-establish your previous Limits settings in Videos > General Settings.

I have fixed the issue.

The problem was that I had customized my previous video-home and VIDEO SHELL templates and Jaxels version did not recognize those edits. I have reversed the edits and all is now kosher. Fantastic work, Jaxel.:up:

Now back to my earlier suggestion, which is to be able to submit videos from the video homepage and then select categories from a drop down list. Great work nonetheless. :up:

My users are raving over the Video Directory.

Now I'm attempting to convert our previous forum into the video directory via database. I have uploaded all the videos, but the challenge right now is how I can get the thumbnails and tags to show for videos uploaded via the database.

Any ideas please?

Backup all the video tables from your database, as well as the /videothumbnails directory. Load these tables and the directory into your new forum and everything should work fine.

Can you please add support for Godtube.com or show me how to do so? Thanks.

The videos were loaded from the database, so thumbnails were not created. Any way to autogenerate thumbnails?

I was just about to request this too. Basically on the forum home, have the 5 latest videos that has been uploaded. It would let more guests know that the Video Directory exists!

You just need to code this yourself. Where to begin I have no clue, sorry...

Installed as well. Simply amazing. I actually paid for a vbtube license and I've since deleted that for this script. Maybe I'll pay for custom upload ability one day but for now this script is GODLY!

how do i make a new folder in the "Video Directory Index"

i have the "general" folder and i want to add more...how to do it ?:confused:

- Log into your forum administration area (if you're already logged in, hit refresh)
- On the left menu, the 3rd option down is "Video Directory", open that menu
- Choose "Manage categories"
- Now you can add, edit and delete categories which is what you're after!

It works fine but the thumbnails in the directores get the wrong CHMOD rights and aren't displayed. How can I solve this?

When you mention your chmod issue... did you CHMOD the subfolders in the thumbnails folder? This was a mistake I made on my first install because the subfolders aren't created until AFTER you do the chmod step in the instructions.

Does anyone know how to get godtube.com working? Would appreciate some help on that please

sure I did that. Now I reinstalled it but it is the same problem again. Indeed the mod creates the thumbnails but then they have the wrong CHMOD and aren't showed.

some bugs about creating new hosters:
1. did not create or check thumbnails subdirectory of hoster on xml import.
2. thumbnails may not be JPG. thumbnails could be saved in other formats, but it looks for JPG on display.
3. i tried to "return $this->url" in fetch_videourl function but failed. in some sites, the url just can not be formatted simply with videoid.
4. if tags exceed limit, no tag will be saved. should be sliced down to the limit automatically.

suggestions:
1. what can i do if there is no thumbnail?
2. a lot of temp files vbuploadxxxx left in the root dir. plz remove them or create them in a tmp dir.

I noticed that when I am posting comment to video my avatar does not appear, instead I am getting a standard "error" gif. So I further investigated what the problem is.

Actually my Avatar is stored in following URL address . However Video Directory calls it from following URL address:
. Looks like it calls for thumbs directory. Why is that? Why the Avatar is not called from the same directory as Vbulletin uses.

I would appreciate the help to solve it.
