We have installed and enabled this mod - but when we do - some of our users (maybe only the ones with awards) get duplicate posts everytime they post using quick reply. ????

We have disabled it for now - any ideas?

We are using VB 3.8.1

Sounds very strange. Which modifications are installed? Which vBExperience version are you using?

OK - I've updated that now - the duplicate posts have gone but now we are getting the redirection page messages each time we post:

"Thank you for posting! You will now be taken to your post. If you opted to post a poll, you will now be allowed to do so."

The redirection messages are switched off in the vbulletin options though.

Which is mentioned as a problem in this thread: http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/proje...uenoteid=74228

Sounds like it's still posting twice but the redirection page is now interrupting the second post...

:confused:

What I'm asking though is where in the templates can we remove them from next to the username, and put them somewhere else?

My forums have a custom postbit that includes a space for such awards above the post content, as you can see here:

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/

This is where we'd like to move the awards. Which bits of code or templates do we need to adjust to move them?

As I said, it's beeing attached to the username, there is no template you can edit to gain what you want.
I will try to include a variable like $xperience_awards for postbit for the next version.

We have managed it, by multiplying activity by count_post and count_thread

You need to change class_experience.php
Add one line about line no 642
PHP Code:

    $user['xperience_ppd'] = $this->GetPPD($user$vbulletin->options['xperience_avgppd']);

and then multiply Summary Thread
PHP Code:

    //Summary Thread

$xperience['count_thread'] += $xperience['count_threads'];

$xperience['count_thread'] += $xperience['count_threads_sg'];

$xperience['count_thread'] += $xperience['count_thread_votes'];

$xperience['count_thread'] += $xperience['count_thread_replycount'];

$xperience['count_thread'] += $xperience['count_thread_views'];

$xperience['count_thread'] += $xperience['count_thread_stickies'];

$xperience['count_thread'] += $xperience['count_thread_tags'];

$xperience['count_thread'] = floor($xperience['count_thread']*$user['xperience_ppd']/100);

and

PHP Code:

    //Summary Post

$xperience['count_post'] += $xperience['count_posts'];

$xperience['count_post'] += $xperience['count_posts_sg'];

$xperience['count_post'] += $xperience['count_post_thanks'];

$xperience['count_post'] += $xperience['count_post_thanks_use'];

$xperience['count_post'] += $xperience['count_post_attachment'];

$xperience['count_post'] += $xperience['count_post_attachment_views'];

$xperience['count_post'] = floor($xperience['count_post']*$user['xperience_ppd']/100);

(just last lines were added).
You can do it in different point groups too.

BTW, would like to see it by default in Phalynx mod. :-)

It makes ranks more dynamic, and forces users to be active.

still loving this mod. One tiny weird issue: I have a user named lex_351 and I cannot give him a gift I bought from the shop. The Mod doesn't recognize that name I assume because he has the _ in the name and user ID does not work. Minor, I know.

You need to do it by yourself using the vBulletin AdminCP.

I would like to have it as an Addon :-) Do you know the CDP Interface?

Do you have 3.8.2 installed? This issue should be solved in 3.8.2

Just to let you know we've done a bit more testing and we are still getting the duplicate posts. We now either get a duplicate post OR the redirect message. It seems random as to which one we get. :confused:

It's a real shame - our community seems to love the mod other than that :(

yes I do but still cannot access or rather give a gift to that user. Not a big deal, honestly.

A bit more info - the problem seems to relate to the awards. Anyone who has an award has the problem with duplicate posts or the redirect message, and anyone who does not have an award does not have the problem :confused:

Cisco Data Protocol? :-) Do not know, but have seen where calcdata hook is called.
If it is possible to change previously defined variables, will do plugin for it.
Thanks for pointing it.

Custom Data Provider :) You can do in the hooks whatever you like, as they are evaulated as PHP code.

Hey. Could you tell me how I would change the postbit so that only: "Points: xxx, Level: x", "Level up: xx%, xx Points needed" and not the graphic bars.

All I want it to say is the text for the points/level status and level up, I don't want the graphical bars or the activity text or bar.

Thanks man.

You need to edit the template xperience_gfx and remove all <img-Tags from there.

hi Marius, i don't understand what do the radioactivity plug-in can you explain pls?

Phalynx 03-10-2009 09:27 AM

That plugin is not developed by me. Christian, read the description, it describes what it does :>

This plugin allows to reduce points for threads and points for posts by multiplying it by activity. It reduces overall point value for inactive users in ranks making eXperience more dynamic.

RadioErewan 03-10-2009 09:43 AM

Sorry phalynx, it is not my thread, but will answer it here.

So, Radioactivity multiplies points for posts and points for threads by activity.
e.g. If you have users A and B with A:100 and B:50 points for posts, but user B has activity 100% and user A activity 30%
User A will get 100*30% points for posts -> 30
User B will get 50*100% points for posts -> 50
So user B will rank higher.
If user A will start to be more active, will write posts and will create new threads, he will soon outperform user B, but... will have to be active, to stay on top.
And your rankings will change every day.

I thought that users could post sales, and I see that it is not possible.

So I tried to uninstall it by following the instructions and got these problems:

1.- If I try to uninstall from product manager I can not run the command. I have to go back and upload and run the script: kill_xperience.php.
2.- Then, after, I go to Manage Products and I try to uninstall it and I get the error: Invalid product especified.
3.- Then I delete all the files uploaded by ftp and the vbexperience seems to be uninstalled, but when a user try to post, I have received this error:

Database error in vBulletin 3.8.1:

Invalid SQL:
UPDATE user SET xperience_done=0 WHERE userid='1';

MySQL Error : Unknown column 'xperience_done' in 'field list'
....

And cannot to post.

In the plugging manager and the product manager there are not anything about vbexperience to uninstall.

Please Help

Wicked One 612 03-11-2009 01:38 AM

Thanks Phalynx, one more question.

When in a thread if I click on a user's Username some options pops up. At the bottom of the options are all the experience bars and text. If I want to completely remove all the experience stuff from that pop-up menu how would I go about doing that?

Edit: Nevermind, found it.

One problem I'm having right now. Is it says everyone's activity is at 0%. I have ran the vBExperience calculation tool.

EDIT: My problem is now fixed.

Deyth 03-13-2009 07:43 PM

How difficult would it be to modify this system to work on a social group basis instead of user? In my case, I'd like to reward active social groups, mostly represented by gaming guilds, by raising up the visibility of their groups on a list depending on the score they'd generate.

odln018 03-14-2009 06:52 PM

When I try to uninstall this, I'm getting the following:
'for a complete kill use ZIP\extras\Remove vBExperience\upload_via_ftp\admincp\kill_xperience .php
, however, when I look for that file, I'm not seeing it.

How can I remove all aspects of this mod?

Lord Raiden 03-14-2009 09:26 PM

odln018 the kill.php is in the ordner extras and you must put them in admincp

Intsalled and voted MOTM. I'm 4 sure you'll win again !!!!
Well, i´m a lil bit tired, i've been reading every post and stopped at 11 page.

My big question is?.
Why in hell "Helpful" award doesn´t work.

Im using vb 3.8
Installed Post Thank Hack 7.7

Regards.

EDITED....

Never mind, I got it !!! XD

Crystal Shards 03-15-2009 09:10 PM

My forum is also unable to give gifts. It says that it can't find the username, but when I am typing the name up in the box, the username appears. So it found it, but then tells me it's not found when I click submit or whatever.

Also, minor grammar error in the shop: It's "You haven't purchased/received any items yet," not, "You don't purchased/received any items yet."

Also also, is there a way to make it so users can make changes to their name or something based on points? Like change their name or the color or something?

hello,

thank you for this excellent mod.

i am having one small problem i am hoping someone can help me out with. when give custom points, the points are not added on the front end of the site until i do a recount in the admincp. is there anyway to have points updated automatically?

i am using ONLY the custom points feature -- i am not awarding points based on any activity.

any help would be most appreciated.

thanks,

I add custom points but it takes a few hours for them to appear.

Bowromir 03-16-2009 08:25 PM

it would be really cool if the all the points earned from the members of a SocialGroup would be added and then divided by the amount of members in that group, to make a ranking of Top Social Groups. example:

Group A has 8 members.
4 members have 100 points and 4 members have 50:
Total 600.
Divided by 8= 75 Points total

This way you could see which groups are the most active on your forum :)

In next version points are calculated automatically towards the users points. Currently only if you do a recount or if the user did a posting.
